One word....the view! Ok, that was 2 words, but you get the point! The first thing that comes to mind when reviewing this property is the most stunning view from the back deck and yard. The deck is spacious and decorated with white lights making it all the more enjoyable to spend time out there. The fire pit was a great activity for our family each night sitting around and making s'mores. We also had our dogs with us and the yard was perfect for that.Our family of 5 stayed for the Thanksgiving holiday and we couldn't have had a better time. The house is so well equipped with everything you would need making it feel like your own home. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could want to cook away from home. Pots, pans, baking dishes, waffle maker, mixer, crock pot, cookie sheets, muffin pans and so on. The kitchen is large so perfect for holiday cooking with several people in the kitchen at the same time. Very easy to cook anything we needed to and enjoy doing it!Master bedroom is cute and cozy with that fabulous view of the Potomac River. It is large and spacious with a great reading nook by the window. Very comfortable bed. The other bedrooms were comfy and cozy as well.The game room on the first level provided hours of fun for our family! Nice tv as well for watching sporting events.Amazing location for exploring Harpers Ferry and other area trails and popular destinations. Highly recommend-owner was very responsive and kind. Would rent here again!

This was a great house for our family to stay at! Very relaxing, with a great view and outdoor area. Convenient access to outdoor activities and Harper’s Ferry. We would gladly stay here again when we’re in the area.

The view is absolutely breath taking. In the mornings I'd get up before everyone and sit outside and watch the river rush down with coffee at hand. Listen and watch the hawks and different birds fly by. At sundown the mountains turn a hue of a variations of blue. The air is fresh. The wild bunny would stop by to say hello. There is so many things to do and see. I absolutely loved it.

Exactly as described

This location is exactly as described. Well stocked with amenities- linens, kitchenware, rainy day activities for kids. Close proximity to Harpers Ferry (5 min drive) and the surrounding area has a ton of places to go. Great choice to stay.

Great place for families!

Highly recommend if you are in the Harper's Ferry and Frederick area. Great outdoor space with a fenced in yard. There are a lot of toys and books for young children and baby gate for the stairs.

Memorial Day weekend

Your house was perfect for us! The yard was fenced in for the dog, lots of space. It was well stocked with anything you could possibly need! Great location! We hiked, toured Harper’s Ferry and enjoyed time as a family!

Family getaway

My family, my in-laws and my sister and brother in law go away each year. This year it was Harper’s Ferry. This location was perfect with great views and easy travel to all the local sites. The b house was perfect for a family getaway. The post described it perfectly. I recommend it if you go to Harper’s Ferrry!

good privacy and good fenced in back yard.

The place was very clean. Soaps and towels were in excess. I did not take in the water views from the inside as I expected but it was all there. The back yard was nicely fenced in and a privacy wall in place. Good place for a family to stay with small children and pets. Hiking trails were close by but down a steep hill. There was a roping system in place, to help get up and down. I read where others complained about it, but we thought it was a lot of fun. Once you are on the path it is easy. We were able to walk to Harpers Ferry and get coffee in the morning and that was a bonus.

Fun Thanksgiving family gathering

We gathered our children and grandchildren for Thanksgiving at this lovely house. The layout was great - the kids took over the lower level, enjoying the air hockey table, games, and TV while the adults cooked and talked upstairs. Although we couldn't enjoy it in November, the house has an amazing outside deck with a wonderful view of the river. We hiked into town and on several other trails in the area. The host was very attentive in responding to emails with my questions.

Family get together

Great location and very peaceful. Loved having 2 bedrooms upstairs and two down since there were infants. Only things that I wished were different: little tree fell outside by gate which wasn’t appealing to look at along with mound of rocks. The fallen tree made it difficult to walk through the side gate (a lot of walking with children). Also wished lawn was cut. But going in October sure was a beautiful time to go!

Harper's Ferry

Great location. Would have liked to have TVs and ceiling fans in all bedrooms but we managed. Some minor maintenance issues but nothing that inconvenienced us.

Great spot for family to convene

Our family of four (kids aged 12 & 9) met up with grandparents and one uncle & cousin here for a nice weekend together. It was a good home base for a day of whitewater rafting and another spent exploring Historic Harper’s Ferry. The immediate area isn’t super walking friendly, but if you’re willing to scramble down a short, steep trail across from the property you can access the C&O path. The porch is a lovely place to sit in the evening, gorgeous string lights and fire pit was great to have. The kids loved having the air hockey table! Kitchen is well-appointed. Appreciated how there were plenty of towels and extra blankets! Would definitely stay again.
