Quiet space with a great location

A very quiet location despite it's geograpic location. Close to MOA. Great park right off of the back yard. Kids loved the foosball table downstairs. The only criticism would be that it could use a real deep cleaning.

Nice

It's a duplex. It's in the process of being fixed up and it's still a little rough around the edges. The location was nice and there was a lot of bedrooms.

Fun at Mall of America

Our family of seven recently stayed at this VRBO in Richfield, Minnesota, and it was absolutely perfect for our trip! The home had plenty of space for all of us to spread out and feel comfortable. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged to make us feel at home. One of the highlights was the location. While Richmond itself offered peace and quiet, we loved how close it was to the Mall of America. The short drive made it easy for us to enjoy a full day of shopping, dining, and attractions before returning to the calm and comfort of the property. The host was incredibly kind and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. It’s clear they put a lot of care into making their guests feel welcome. Overall, we would highly recommend this VRBO for families or groups looking for a spacious and convenient place to stay. It was a wonderful experience, and we hope to return in the future!

Hockey championships

The location is good - near Mall of America, easy freeway access. Quiet neighborhood. This will soon be a great rental property. It’s just not quite there yet. Lots of updates done, more to do but isn’t far from being completely renovated. More seating in upstairs living room would be nice. Cable didn’t work, but Smart TVs so we were able to log into our streaming accounts. A check-in and check-out guide would be helpful.

Great location-not clean

The location is great for families, walking distance to a huge soccer field and park and lots of games and toys on the property. Super close to the airport and mall of America as well. There was not real clear check in or check out processes until I inquired what to do. When we checked in everything was surface level clean, but there was quite a bit of residue on the countertops when we went over it with a rag, lots of hair in the tub, and toothpaste on the sink.When I contacted the owner, she was defensive which led to an ongoing argument all weekend. She also owns the property attached to this property and was there frequently throughout the weekend. We have since settled our differences and I will say she is very nice it was just a misunderstanding, but it did sour the trip.

Good but not Great

The pictures online and location were what drew my interest to the property. It is as-pictured and a very short drive to Mall of America as advertised. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood that is well-kept. The host was responsive overall. There is enough space for a larger family or group to gather, have ample privacy, and multiple break-out spaces for different activities. There were a number of drawbacks to the home we discovered. We arrived after dark and learned the house had been left open the entire day. I trekked through the home to insure there were no uninvited people inside. There was a window that would not secure, but the host met up with me to fix it. The house was not cleaned well from the previous renters. It has nice structure and could be a better place with a good scrubbing. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was, too. We enjoyed the reclining couch in the basement with the large TV. The kitchen is well-equipped with enough cutlery, plates, cooking utensils, and cookware for almost anything. The host was responsive for the most part during our stay, but we had an issue that we waited over 6 hours to get a resolution for. It was all worked out. We even had dinner together with Connie. She is getting a new cleaning person, so I think that future guests will have a better experience. Check-in and check-out instructions were vague, so having a guide would be helpful. Even letting guests know where close grocery or Wal-mart are located will help.

Great location but that's it

I'll start with the pros: Extremely close to Mall of America which was our destination. It backs up to a park, so if you have little ones that need extra energy to get out, it's there for you. That's about all of the positives I can think off. We will start off with the fact that the listing was not as advertised. One reason we chose this house was because it had a room with two beds so my daughter and her best friend could share a room together on our vacation. That room had been replaced with a queen bed, when I reached out to Connie about it, not only was she extremely rude, she accused me of having people in the house that weren't on the reservation. Not true. She accused my daughter of having a BOYFRIEND (at the age of 5) that was staying in the room with her and why she needed a separate bed. The babies found on the floor an old petrified French fries (which Connie blamed on me even though we didn't bring food in with us), there was a bottle of rust oleum heavy duty cleaner under the fridge that the baby was shaking and spraying all over the place. An old key that did not belong to the house and a toothbrush that looks like it scrubbed the last of the plague off of this house. That ended up in my daughter's mouth. The corners had THICK layers of dust, like when you clean out a dryer vent, that's what under couches and beds and corners looked like. There was black animal fur all over the 2 chairs. Dishwasher broken. Food on plates and silverware. Just gross.

Not the best experience

After bringing all of our things into the house, we smelled a slight moldy kind of odor on the main floor. We explored the house and went into the basement where the odor was very strong, to the point you could not stay down there. I contacted the owner via text and let her know about the odor. She told us to leave for an hour and come back. While waiting for the owner my sister in law and my mother who is 83 were getting sick. The owner arrived with a gallon of cleaner that they were going to spray in the basement that required us to leave for an hour. The owner denied they could smell the odor. It was VERY obvious that there was. There was 6 of us that could. I finally told the owner we could not stay there between the smell and the chemical that they were going I put down was not good for my mom. She was very upset and kept stating there is no smell. We left. I call Vrbo to complain. They got the owner in the line where they have her recorded stating they are going to put a chemical down to get rid of it. She was very arguments towards the rep and refused to give our money back. Finally offered $200.00 back but that is it. We had to find a different place to stay. We drove from Michigan to stay at a place that was unacceptable. This place was not cleanest as well. I hope the owner will learn from this experience because I sure have!
