An Unforgettable Stay – Amazing Staff, Incredible Food, and the Perfect Location

Our vacation couldn’t have been more perfect! From the moment we booked, everything was seamless—the owners were incredibly helpful and responsive, answering all of our questions and making sure we felt prepared before we even arrived. Once there, the staff truly made the trip extra special with their kindness, attentiveness, and some of the most delicious food we’ve ever had! . The house was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating our two families, and we loved the short walk into town. Most importantly, we felt completely safe the entire time—more so than on any other trip abroad. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

Beautiful villa for friends and family week

We had an amazing 10 days at villa encantata. The staff was very attentive and the food was good. The location is across the bay from las gatos and la Ropa beaches but we took taxis and water taxis around each day for different experiences.This villa has a beautiful common area and a very good pool. Best suited for 4 couples. We had a 5th couple in the garden room which wasn’t as nice as the others but would be great for kids

Amazing and beautiful Villa

We stayed for a whole week. We were 3 families in this villa and it was 5 stars all the way. This villa perfectly accommodated all our group. The rooms are so clean and the beds were so comfortable. The living area and kitchen and pool area have the most stunning views. We loved sitting out on the comfy couches and watching the breathtaking views. Our kids enjoyed the pool the entire time (adults did too) and did not want to leave. The staff on site were very professional and helpful, the service was top notch, our rooms were clean and perfectly ready for bed every day. The location was just perfect, minutes from beach and town and overall this was definitely the best villa we ever stayed at anywhere in Mexico. I highly recommend anyone that wants a luxurious yet affordable vacation with all the amenities and perks you can think of to book their next vacation here. Hands down the best vacation we had ever!

Beatiful home, wonderful staff

We stayed at Casa Encantada for the Christmas/New Year winter break. Carlos and his team warmly welcomed us. They had the home decorated for Christmas and bought the kids pinatas and two birthday cakes, which they loved. Chef Arturo is a remarkable chef who clearly loves cooking and entertaining. We fished several days and whether or not we caught anything, he made us a delicious meal. But, cooking the Dorado we caught was very special. Adrian kept the house in tip top shape and helped us when the pool became cloudly for 2 days. Delia, the lovely housekeeper, kept the home spotless and helped us with laundry. Carlos was a key person for all communication when we had a family member stung by a yellow scorpion. He quickly transported us to the local clinic where anti-venom was administered and stayed with us the entire time. We appreciated his care.

The Perfect Family Get-away

Our Family of ten spent two fantastic weeks in the beautiful Villa Encantada. The property layout is perfect for larger groups. The open main floor had tons of space for all of us to enjoy. The Infinity pool was perfect for those hot afternoons. All five bedrooms have ensuites, with was great to have. The short walk to Zihut Centro was perfect. The real beauty of this location is the full-time staff that are there every day, making your stay unforgettable. Arturo, the chef, made the most amazing five-star meals. Anna kept our whole Villa spotless, while Adrian ensured things went smoothly and filled in anywhere and everywhere. Carlos, the GM, coordinated everything seamlessly and even picked up a cake and pinata to help us celebrate my daughter's birthday. I can't wait to plan our next stay there.

This was a magical vacation!!

I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a vacation with family or friends and have all the amenities you could ask for! The staff was absolutely amazing! The food preparation was the best ever! Bring your large family or several families and have a vacation of a lifetime! Jeannine is wonderful, made everything about the stay perfect!! Thank you to everyone, it was perfect!!

RELAXING

We totally enjoyed our stay at Villa Encantada. From the moment Carlos met us at the airport until he walked us through the COVID test procedure we knew we were in great hands. We came to relax and that is what the staff made possible for us. Let me tell you Carlos is connected. He knows everyone, and can solve every reasonable request you may have. The food was magnificent and we even had some laundry done while we were there. Came home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. We enjoyed the staff so much we insusted they eat with us on the final night and they agreed which made us VERY happy. Go enjoy yourself and RELAX. Art A. (Arturo)

Just perfect!

The home is beautiful, the floor plan/layout is ideal for hanging out and having fun. Lovely pool. Spectacular views. The real winner is the staff-they couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. They helped with recommendations (Carlos set up a day trip to nearby La Perla beach where we were pampered in the sand) and Carlos arranged to repair a silver necklace I had from another trip. The food was fantastic-especially the tamales! AND they got a birthday cake and piñata for me!

Amazing !!!!!

This place is everything it says it is. You feel at home the minute you walk in with the staff there to greet you and welcome you. Carlo's was so helpful and arranging our excursions to massages in the Villa for my daughters 20th bday. We were a family of 7 adults and the rooms accommodated us all while giving you lots of privacy. I want to say thank you for sharing your lovely Villa with us I look forward to sharing this with friends next year. The food that was cooked for you everyday was the best Mexican food I've ever had.

Relaxation Paradise

The most relaxing vacation ever! Beautiful views, a wonderful staff.... And a low key, welcoming town within walking distance. We explored every other day and just relaxed in the pool on our down days. Weather was amazing and home cooked meals made us feel like locals! 8 adults had plenty of room and privacy yet the common areas accommodated everyone with plenty of space. Can't wait to come back a 3rd time!

Perfect Place for a Family Vacation

Villa Encantada lives up to its name. The setting is lovely, all the bedrooms super comfortable, the pool delightful and the staff wonderful in every way. Even though Zihua is a great little town and only a 5 or 10 minute walk away there was little reason to venture in. We ate most of our dinners in the house and they were frankly the best food we had on the trip. We were 9 adults and a 10 month old infant. Villa Encantada made traveling with her incredibly easy. Thanks for a great time. Hope to return.

Not a 5 star stay for the top price we paid. House needs updating and staff description edited.

I'll start by saying that this booking was made two weeks before our travel date because we had another 5 star house lost due to fraud. It was peak travel season so I knew we were going to be paying top $. I think that the property and staff were oversold to be a five star stay. When we arrived to the airport we had been told that Carlos would be there to pick us up. He was 2 hours late. When we finally arrived to the property the staff was frantically cleaning the house. It looked as though the house hadn't been stayed in a bit as televisions were off walls, mold was in the bedroom mini fridges, dirty pool, the deck had tons of ants and no hot water. We had visions of a friendly welcome to our vacation after a long day with cold drinks & snacks. The staff did their best getting the house ready and cooking us a late dinner even though it was New Years Eve. We found out they didn't know we were coming. Adrian was sweet to run down to the local market to get us a few cold drinks. Jeannine ended up giving us half of one nights stay refund. It was very nice not to have to cook or clean for a week and the food was good. We gave Carlos money and he did our grocery shopping. In the description of the house it says that Carlos would be available to drive us places and arrange excursions, but he wasn't very open to do this. He took us to the beach and he arranged/drove us to a fishing excursion. Other than that we walked or took the water taxi that was a short walk. Once, our kids took a Jacuzzi bath in one of the bedrooms because there wasn't a hot tub outside. They put the stopper in and filled it and then later all 10 of us took showers. We ended up getting "talked to" by Carlos about using so much water. We felt like we had done something wrong. Don't have a large soaker tub if you don't expect your guests to use it! Be careful getting to the "private beach" you have to trespass onto private property as no one showed us how else to get there. Be aware that most of the house is open to the outside. Each bedroom is fully enclosed and had locks but still a concern when you have kids. The air condition units in the rooms were a necessary amenity to a "5 star" house and once we replaced batteries in the remotes they worked. In the end, If you understand how things are in Mexico and ok with that, this is a nice house with a beautiful but over grown view. It needs updating and added touches to be considered a top $ luxury vacation.

Amazing spot! Amazing house! Amazing staff! What a great Christmas vacation for the family!!!!!!!!!!

The villa encantada was amazing. 5 big rooms, every room there own ensuite (shower + toilet) 4 of them with a amazing balcony a view over the bay. The infinite pool ..... perfect. Fun to walk to the fish market every morning for the catch of the day! We even got tuna for a big tartare! The chef was good, we ask her specific stuff but most of the time it was classic Mexican food. Ask them to start the charcoal grill, fish filet on that is incredible! Thanks for the amazing week! We will be back

Amazing location, villa, and staff

Villa Encantada is a jewel perched on several levels on the cliff in Puerto Mio, a 20 minute walk from the north end of Zihua, and about 25 minutes from the market area. The photos are entirely accurate and yet cannot capture the actual breathtaking beauty of the rooms, the decks, the views to the sea, and that astonishing infinity pool. Yet truly it is the staff that make this villa an outstanding and most memorable holiday. It was hard to consider going out for dinner when Socorro and Perla could make sumptuous meals including the famed coconut shrimp, excellent enchiladas con pollo, and puerco con salsa verde. Breakfast treats like soaps, chiliquales, huevos rancheros... Fresh ceviche for lunch, or quesadillas with guacamole and salsa fresca! We were spoiled all week long! Carlos, the Manager, is likewise amazing. His helpful suggestions about massages in the villa, arranging for transport to and from the airport, picking up groceries on our first night, all these as well as arranging a fantastic birthday piñata celebration - he was always there when we needed him. Professional and warm, he was lovely. In sum, Carlos was over the top!!! Adrian too was an excellent addition to the ease of our stay. The pool was well cared for, the grounds well kept, and maintenance attended to. Each of the staff were wonderfully present and available, yet never intrusive. I hesitate to write such a positive review, because selfishly we want to come back to Villa Encantada. Yet when such amazing places filled with great people exist, it is also important to share that experience. Should you book this place, you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely Fabulous

We were 4 couples looking to escape brutal weather in Chicago and couldn't have picked a better spot! We were nervous about sharing a house (have traveled together before, but always stayed at a resort) - but this was perfect! Every room had a view, private balcony and bathroom. The most wonderful outdoor living space that was just spectacularly relaxing and beautiful. But truly, what REALLY made our stay so heavenly, was the amazing staff. Truly, we are ruined for Mexican Food. Everything was so fresh and delicious. They were all so nice and friendly, but absolutely gave us our space, etc. We hated to leave. (And I almost don't want to give such a glowing review in order to keep it our secret, but...it really was wonderful!). A close walk to town - not that we actually left very often and a beach to snorkel from right down the road! Cannot thank you enough for sharing your home!

Awesome home and staff!

The property was fantastic, every need was met by the fantastic staff. Carlos was our family's favorite! Unfortunately, eating in town one evening at Restuarante Any, I picked up Camplybactor (from mishandled or undercooked chicken). It was 12 days of horrible intestinal illness and I landed in the ER. :( But this home? Amazing!

Me and my family rented Villa Encantada for Christmas and New Year's 2014. I can only give a rave review in all aspects: the accommodations, the staff, the food, the location, the swimming pool !!!, air conditioning in the bedrooms, and access to Wi-Fi and television. Luxury in every aspect of the word. We watched fireworks from the third story terrace, loved being able to walk to town, ate several times at the restaurants along the way, swam in the nearby cove, and appreciated having a driver to take us to the beaches on the other side of town. I felt the price was very reasonable for the holiday season. Nothing beats Zihuatanejo for a vacation in Mexica and Villa Encantada is the perfect place to stay. For groups larger than 10, the Villa next door, owned and managed by the same folks, is smaller and just as wonderful.

This is the Life!

We stayed at this truly luxury villa right after Christmas 2014 and stayed through January 2nd, 2015. Our whole extended family (children, adults and Grandma) were extremely comfortable, pampered and very happy. Carlos, Socorro and Perla made the stay perfect, responding to all our varied needs The food was absolutely unparalleled. The Villa is so comfortable and beautiful. We did a lot of lounging around the pool. Being close to town, we walked downtown every morning to see the fresh catch of the day. Relax, unwind, and enjoy life at this rental!

My wife and I stayed with a few our closest friends at this location and had the most amazing experience. The house is absolutely stunning, the views are amazing, and the staff become a part of your family. The food was incredible with traditional Mexican style flavors and was 100% made from scratch. We look forward to coming back in the future and bringing the kids to enjoy the house and the local culture.

Beautiful villa with phenomenal staff

What a fantastic place to relax and unwind. The villa is absolutely gorgeous - it really captures the casual elegance of mexico. We had big plans every day but ended up in the pool or enjoying the lounge chairs instead the majority of the time because it was just so nice there. Carlos, Perla and Zocoro took great care of us making sure our every need was attended to and their cooking--- WOW!!! Be sure to have Zocoro make her famous coconut shrimp - its not to be missed, but literally everything she and Perla made for us included the freshest ingredients and lots of love. Really a perfect place. Cant wait to go back next year. Thank you Aharon and Jeannine for putting up with our group :)

BEST vacation ever!!

This is an absolutely stunning property with all the old Mexico charm you could ask for. The location is ideal, just a few minutes walk to town, and the staff pampered us like we were kings. The chef Siccoro (sp?) was incredible and everything she made had love in it....I can still taste her homemade salsa Verde over eggs in the morning. We were lucky enough to have the owners Aharon and Jeannine come visit with us our second day...they are an absolute blast! Bottom line, this was hands down and best vacation ever and we can't wait to get back. Highly recommended!!

What an amazing experience!

This is definitely one of the best vacations we've ever taken. The home itself was amazing - each room well appointed with the indoor / outdoor living room area being the star of the show. The location and staff made it a 5 star experience. This will be an annual event if we can make it happen!

Villa Bahia was my first villa—the start of a dream and a lifelong friendship with architect Enrique Zozaya. Together, we designed a home that honored the landscape and felt like a natural extension of the cliffs above Zihuatanejo Bay. At the time, few believed in the vision. Building here seemed impossible. Now, those same skeptics are neighbors.

As we built Bahia, we also began Villa Encantada. The entire project took just over two years. We sourced natural materials—petrified wood, raw stone, terracotta tile, and reclaimed wood—to bring texture and soul into the villas. Every door, tile, and finish was chosen with purpose. Inspiration often came spontaneously—drawn on napkins, adapted mid-build, or completely reimagined when something didn’t feel right.

We tore out staircases, re-poured platforms, and changed plans to ensure every space worked in harmony with the natural setting. Every decision was guided by the desire to create a timeless place where architecture and nature coexist beautifully.

When I opened Villa Bahia for rentals in 1999, it was rare to find a staffed, luxury villa experience. But I wanted to share this place and make it easy for guests to relax and enjoy. Our full-time team—many of whom have been with us for over a decade—brings warmth, care, and attention to detail that turns a stay into something truly special.

These homes are more than vacation villas. They are works of art, created with love, and meant for rest, connection, and unforgettable memories.
