Beach Access & What to Expect at Moody Beach

Moody Beach is accessed via a nearby public right-of-way, providing legal access for all beachgoers. As is common along much of the Maine coastline, the size of the usable beach changes throughout the day with the tides. At low tide, the beach opens up significantly, offering ample space for walking, relaxing, and enjoying the shoreline. During high tide, the accessible area can temporarily narrow near the public access point.

Much of the surrounding beachfront is privately owned, and guests are asked to remain within the public way when the tide is high. While this is a normal and well-established coastal arrangement, it may feel different for guests who are unfamiliar with tidal beaches or public access points in Maine.

We encourage guests to plan beach time around the tides for the most spacious and enjoyable experience. Tide charts are readily available and can help you make the most of your time on Moody Beach.
