Nice Modern House with great location
The first impression when I walked in was "This is a nice house", and over our 10 day stay this impression did not change. The modern design and the open kitchen, dining room, living room design made the stay very enjoyable. The large kitchen countertop was great for sitting at breakfast and the large kitchen table made other meals and relaxing after a long day relaxing.
The kitchen has a nice stove top and 2 ovens that worked perfect for cooking meals. We made a few Costco runs and stops at the local Kronan so we didn't end up eating out every day. We also used the grill on the patio at least half of the days we were there. We did eat out at a few local places, suggested by the owner, and they were great as promised. We particularly liked the Skalli Bistro.
The location was great. Only 15 minutes to Reykjavik and to the Sky Lagoon. The local lake and walking trails behind the house was also great as we went for a number of walks along the lake.
The Laundry came in very useful for us also, especially after the owner gave us a quick overview.
The walk-out basement was a nice area for the younger adults to hang out, and the two bedrooms down there worked well.
These items didn't affect the stay at all. The windows upstairs don't have any coverings, which is nice, but the side windows in the bedroom would be nice to have top to bottom shades. Also, it would have been nice to have a microwave. We ended up having to reheat in the oven which worked, but wasn't ideal.
