Welcome to the Cottage at Afton Mountain! Located in the heart of 151 Wine Country, just one minute from Veritas and the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Nestled on a half acre surrounded by woods and an enchanting creek, the cottage offers 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a fully equipped kitchen and cozy living room. The Cottage is a wonderful retreat after a day of hiking the Blue Ridge or exploring the surrounding wineries and breweries. We can't wait for you to visit!

We had a girls trip and this house was perfect for the 3 of us! The house is convenient to Staunton, Waynesboro, Nelson 151, Skyline Drive, Wintergreen, and Charlottesville. The mountains are beautiful! The house met all of our needs comfortably.

Very clean and newly remodeled. Beds are comfortable. Super access to the 512 corridor of wineries, breweries, Blue ridge tunnel and the SNP. No great views at the house, but who needs it when you can go to all the places setup to enjoy hanging out and enjoying the Blue Ridge. Defintely plan to come back!!

Perfect Girl’s Weekend

Perfect house and location for our group of 4 ladies. We were close to many wineries and breweries and also an easy drive to Wintergreen.

House was clean, nicely arranged and very spacious. The only issue we experienced was with the front door. Upon arriving the deadbolt which is controlled by a key pad unlocked however, the doorknob was also locked. We called the number listed on VRBO and received tje automatic VRBO line and was extremely unhelpful. I did locate a key box hidden in an area and was able to get the key with the same code provided to us. On our last night there we were again locked out for 15 minutes as the deadbolt would not respond from the key pad. We reached out put to the owner and the deadbolt finally accepted the codes after some time. The owner was responsive and called me very concerned and apologetic. I have no doubt they will resolve this issue. Great location nice home and we are grateful for the time together it gave us all.

Great location, wonderful house!

The house is perfectly located near some of the best wineries. Blue Mountain, Hazy Mountain and Veritas are within minutes and were great. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely book again.

Very satisfied with the property. Location was great - close to wineries, hiking, and Charlottesville was an easy 25 minute drive to the downtown mall. The property was clean and all aspects of the stay were very good. Would definitely rent again when in the area in the future.

A fun little getaway!

Really enjoyed our stay, the house was immaculate and in a great location! There was an issue with the septic but Kristina did a wonderful job communicating the issues with us and the problem was resolved quickly. Loved the Christmas decorations too, we celebrated a late Christmas with family so was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much again!

Good Proximity

Our family of four stayed here for a short trip to Shenandoah. It made for easy access to the park and was super close to Blue Ridge Tunnel that the kids enjoyed. Nearby brewery was also great. House was clean and beds were comfortable. The individual units in the upstairs bedrooms were great but the master didn't get much air flow and was warm even on the cooler nights, the large box fan helped some. Plenty of dishes and glasses and host provided dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent which was great. Would have appreciated some more basics in the kitchen though like salt and pepper and oil as the nearest grocery store isn't very close. Overall would recommend, just be sure to bring or buy all kitchen basics beforehand.

Weekend Adventure

Previously stayed in the Afton area but other property was booked. On a recommendation from a friend, decided to go with The Cottage. No regrets! Perfect choice for our group of 5 adults. It was just as expected. Super clean, well stocked, and the perfect location! It is in close proximity to multiple wineries, breweries and restaurants. We loved our stay and would return! We especially enjoyed the lovely kitchen and outdoor fire pit. The host is quick to respond and was super helpful with recommendations.

This property is lovely. Spacious little cottage with a nice kitchen and amenities. Plenty of room for the four of use with an additional room with 2 twin beds. It was nice to find a 3-bedroom place with at least 2 queen beds and 2-1/2 baths. The good size kitchen was nicely appointed and we found all we needed to cook. We drove over to The Meating Place in Stuarts Draft, had 4 steaks cut and grilled out one night. The grill worked perfectly and the steaks were incredible. The outside firepit was so nice on the cool evenings with firewood supplied. We brought our own as we had a small amount we wanted to use and we brought starter logs which helped to get a fire started quickly. It was a beautiful weekend and the cottage was so much a part of that. I recommend a stay! Thank you, Kristina & Clay! You have a gem!
