Acogedora casa de 5 dormitorios, 2600 pies cuadrados ubicada en los pinos. 5 minutos a pie del pueblo. Nivel de 1/2 acre mucho. Duerme 8-10. Hay una casa de huéspedes independiente disponible con sala de estar, dormitorio con cama queen, cocina y baño de 3/4. La casa principal tiene una cocina grande, con todo el equipo de cocina necesario para cocinar fácilmente. Had a great time at David's cabin.The location is perfect--walkable to town.The outside "turf" made our afternoons delightful with the kids.Easy check-in and easy check out processes.

Multi Generational Family Gathering

We truly enjoyed our visit to Idyllwild and this beautiful mountain home. For our family group of 12, we rented both the main house and the guest cottage. One of our group has limited mobility and there were several options for rooms on the ground floor. (Guest house: Queen bed sofabed with full bathroom, Main House ground floor: 2 full bathrooms, one Queen room, 2 rooms with 2 twin beds each, Main House 2nd floor: 2 rooms with a Queen bed in each, sharing a bathroom). Meals at the large dining table were easy to fit everyone. The house has so many different rooms to hang out in that if someone wanted a quieter space they could easily find one. The weather in May was great so we spent our most of our days outdoors, some walking to town from the home and others taking a more strenuous hike from the home to the beautiful vista at Suicide Rock. Beds were clean and comfortable, kitchen was well-appointed and there were plenty of silverware, glassware & dishes for large group meals. The outdoor deck and yard had several areas for conversation and games, and we enjoyed the large tv room/pool table/game room. We used both large BBQ's and there was plenty of propane supplied. I would recommend bringing your own Ziploc bags of varying sizes for leftover food storage. If you stay during the colder months, there is a large fireplace stocked with wood for guests. The owner/property manager was very responsive with questions we had and we would happily stay here again!

Great family cabin

The property had everything we needed for our family Easter weekend. We only wish we had more time to enjoy all that the cabin has to offer. The photos in the listing don't do it justice. The decor is fun and interesting. The owner checked in via phone to make sure all is well. We only wish there were some basic instructions for things like the fireplace (is there a flue? we surmised not) and what controls we may or may not have for the central heat. Checkout instructions were via phone, but having them listed would be helpful when there is a large group of people. These are minor points and didn't affect our enjoyability of the property. We definitely recommend it!

Winter Wedding Reception

This cabin is perfect for an intimate wedding. It boasts a beautiful, circular driveway that feels luxurious and expensive while not overwhelming the natural beauty of the pines. The drive encloses a perfect small ceremony site, depending on your crowd’s size, and a massive yard for your reception—large enough to fit a 20x40 foot canopy if you, like us, chose to experience the winter snow in Idyllwild. There are two cabins on-site—first, a huge house, which comfortably sleeps your groomsmen and bridesmaids, in addition to having a spacious, beautifully detailed interior. The kitchen was modern, robust, and easily accessible for preparations. There are several other rooms available as well for sharing experiences, but the highlight by far is the great room, which sports an elegance in its layout that matches the grandness of the piano you’ll find there. The huge windows overlook green trees that made a perfect backdrop for our photobooth. The second cabin is a bridal suite, complete with everything a couple will need to escape the business of the day to spend time together.All of this barely scratches the surface of this cabin in Idyllwild. David is a fantastic host, both accommodating and communicative, who genuinely wants your to appreciate your experience there. He is direct in the best kind of way, and defines the reasonable expectations for his property clearly. He is kind and responsive (and exceptionally priced!) I cannot recommend this 10/10 property more.

Snowflakes Falling

We arrived in Idyllwild with snowflakes falling all around us. it was very cold, the roads were barely passable. we found the house, and sliding and slipping, made our way inside. Wow, were we in for a surprise. Everything had been set up perfectly. The house was already warm and cozy. Everything was available and working properly. The house was comfortable with so many interesting features. The music room was a delight and the pool table got a lot of use. The heavy snowfall was a challenge, but so very beautiful. We will certainly be back to this property.

Really great home & host!!

David is truly a wonderful host. This was our second year in a row at David’s place. The home is large and gave my family plenty of room to spread out. It’s a comfortable 20 minute walk to town. I highly recommend this place!

We have been yearly visitors here since 2019 and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Idyllwild.This home is spacious yet so cozy and the ample parking is a huge bonus. The beautifully remodeled kitchen includes a double oven and is well-equipped, everything you could possibly need, including a coffee nook. Lots of outdoor seating on the large deck and the property is surrounded by beautiful towering pines. An easy and short walk to town. Host David is communicative and thoughtful; the home is always heated when we arrive in the cooler months and it's so welcoming. The whole family looks forward to many future visits!

Family Christmas Celebration 2024

This is our third year celebrating here and it’s perfect for us! Large dining table for Christmas dinner, big kitchen, cozy living room for lounging and visiting, pool table for the adult kids, and walking distance to town. The host is awesome and attentive. Looking forward to ANOTHER year when we celebrate Christmas 2025 together:)

Holiday Family Get Together

Had a wonderful time at this fantastic cabin in Idyllwild.The location is a 10 minute walk to the center of town.The cabin has plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is great and had everything we needed to cook Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day brunch.There is a cozy fireplace in the living room, a huge game room, and an amazing music room with a beautiful piano.David, the owner was great and offered his assistance if we needed anything.Thanks so much for making our Christmas family get together one we'll always remember!We will definitely be back!

Home Away From Home

A favorite family tradition-the weekend before Thanksgiving at this beautiful spacious and cozy home in the mountains of Idyllwild. Towering trees and a circular driveway with ample parking for all of our cars. Family favorites include a roaring fire in the music room with a beautiful piano and gorgeous floor to ceiling windows and spending time on the large deck with the twinkling lights. A well thought out kitchen, with every possible convenience at hand. Recent kitchen and bathroom remodels are stunning! Short easy walk to town. Charming guest house on property is available to rent as well, perfect for us as our group has grown. Host is very welcoming and easy to reach. Hands down best rental property and consistently excellent experience, always spotlessly clean! Very special place...

Ideal wedding venue in Idyllwild

We used the property to have our wedding. The property is tucked back off the street and under a canopy of beautiful trees. With plenty of open space, the property is an ideal destination for a small (50ish) wedding venue. The house is filled with antiques and is a throw back to a simpler era. As soon as we got there the family seemed to be less interested in their phones and more interested in family time. Kids played at the pool table and looked through the record collection. The house is equipped with most things needed to hold a wedding. However, if you have specific tastes in mind, bring whatever you need. The sound system worked great. The dance floor was simple but perfect for our small group. The cottage was the perfect location for my wife to get ready with her girls. The town is a very short drive away. Perfectly close. Would do it all over again at this property. The owner is easy to work with, kind and warm, and easy to get a hold of. Perfect host.

Beautiful any time of year

This is our second visit to this property. Our first trip was November. Summer was equally great. It’s wonderful for family get togethers. Plenty of space to hang out and entertain all ages. The new kitchen and bathrooms are wonderful. Close enough to walk into town or trailheads. We will be back again.

Beautiful Wedding Destination

So blessed we found this location for our dream wedding. The property was perfect for our entire family (including out of state visitors), the outside was what we had envisioned for our ceremony and reception. All of our guests enjoyed the fresh air, outdoors and beautiful destination. Cannot wait to come back for our 1 year anniversary and celebrate with the family. Owner is very communicative and helped make our special day run without any hiccups. Highly recommend.

Outstanding property

This is our 3rd time staying here. What a fantastic property for a family vacation. David the owner goes above and beyond to insure you have everything you need. Kitchen is fully equipped and lots of room for everyone to spread out. The outside patio is beautiful. We love it!

Music Lovers

This is a great location for large family getaways! We were also able to bring our two labs which is always a bonus! I like that we could spread out and have a sense of privacy. Three full bathrooms also helped give everyone time and space. We loved the large music room with piano and organ. My son is a musician and appreciated it for sure! There were plenty of games and a pool table, too. We didn’t even touch the TV the entire weekend. David the owner is very kind and welcoming. The main town is a walkable distance and just around the corner from the grocery store. We were surprised at the size of the modernized kitchen (that still has a warm, cabin feel). Any kind of dish, pan, utensil you can think of needing to stay in and cook was there. We brought our own, not used to this nicety! Won’t need to next time! And I have a feeling there WILL be a next time!
