Enjoyed our stay

VINEYARD VACATION

Excellent location for biking, walking, and going for a run in the neighborhood and to the beach. The house has a great open space to gather in the kitchen and living room. The DeWitts were very responsive when contacted.

Our trip to Martha's Vineyard

We had a lovely stay in this very well-appointed home. We loved the location because of its privacy, but its proximity to the bike path and Long Point Wildlife Refuge made it easy for our family and extra special. We did a lot of cooking and loved the kitchen and grill Lots of games around the kitchen table and mornings on the deck. All in all, it was a perfect trip. The DeWitts were so easy to correspond with and helpful whenever we had questions.

Disappointed

The property owners were so very generous as to give us a refund for a night, when I realized our flight would arrive too late to be able to catch the ferry to the island. They are also very responsive to text messages and calls. My experience of the property however, left me feeling disappointed. The kitchen is nice and new, but I felt the rest of the house really needs a major upgrade and there were also cleanliness issues. We were definitely not excited to spend much time there or to come back to it at night. I found it ironic and a bit annoying that I was expected to clean and dry all linens and remove garbage given the state of the property. I wish I could be more positive about it, but that was my experience.

Hello Lee. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the house! My apologies! From your description, I almost think that you were in the wrong house! I was there myself working on the house in May and we had a 'deep cleaning' 2 days before your arrival to get the house ready for the summer season. In addition, the house is cleaned between renters. This is so confusing because I care very much about cleanliness! The information about linen washing/drying and garbage collection was given to you beforehand so this is also confusing to me. I wish you had expressed your concerns during your stay.

A wonderful place!

We had a lovely time in west Tisbury. The house was perfect for our group; four adults and our two adult “kids”. The kitchen was well-stocked, the deck was great for hanging out morning and evening, the beds were comfortable. All the amenities of home (including AC which was really nice during this very humid week!) and a fantastic location, wooded and private but central to all parts of the island. Loved our stay on the vineyard!!!

Great stay - would recommend!

Overall our stay was great and I would stay again. What was great: 1. Communication with the host was great and they were attentive and quick to respond. 2. The hosts helped by providing information on beach reservations and permits for Long Point and Lambert’s Cove. 3. Lambert’s Cove is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to and is a huge selling point to staying at this location. The host assisted with a rental agreement that I could provide to purchase the $50 pass. 4. The location is fantastic! In the middle of the island, on a great street for walking, biking, and playing. Surrounded by large trees and very close to Long Point Beach. 5. The kitchen is fantastic! Huge and well equipped! 6. The outdoor deck with propane grill was lovely when we had good weather. 7. The layout of the house is great. 2 bedrooms upstairs with a full bath and 2 bedrooms downstairs with a full bath. It was the perfect setup for two families of 4 traveling together 8. The house had one large tv in the living room and was equipped with Netflix. Great for little kids. What could have been better: 1. Laundry at the end of the stay. On the day last we got up at 6am and started the laundry and it was a lot of work and very stressful. This took a lot of time. If I stay again I will bring my own sheets to avoid this. 2. I stayed in the upstairs queen bedroom and unfortunately it was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. There was an extra mattress in the house and by day 3 I had to move it upstairs to be able to sleep. 3. The bedrooms upstairs have big beautiful skylights but that means at 5:30am when the sunrises so do you. Window coverings or an eye mask would have been nice. 4. The house is all wooden floors which is great for cleaning but not for nice noise cancelling. A few runners or area rugs might help with the noise. I would recommend this property to others as it is a good location with a fantastic kitchen and setup. However it is not a luxury property and I think that is reflected in the listing and the price. The hosts were great!

Lovely home in a great location!

The home is on a lovely, private lot and has a nice deck overlooking pretty woods. The kitchen and family room have recently been redone and we enjoyed the open concept for cooking and hanging out as a family. Bathrooms are in line with what you’d expect for a cape rental but what was great was having one full bath on the main floor and one upstairs - our two teens enjoyed having their own space upstairs. The location of this home is great - far enough from the busiest parts of the island but close enough to easily get in and out. There’s a beautiful beach very close to the home - be sure to get advanced registration. We hadn't stayed in West Tisbury before but definitely will again. The owners are very communicative and helpful. They were great to deal with. Thanks for a great stay Valerie and John!

Lovely Tranquil Retreat

The property is lovely and extremely warm and comfortable. The Kitchen and the deck were the best features for the home which is in a secluded area. The location was in a lovely wooded area that is close to the beach.

Perfect in every way

We have vacationed in the Vineyard every year for the past 12 years. This amazing piece of paradise is everything and more. First and foremost the owners are wonderful to work with. The location is impeccable. A mile from Long Point which is so beautiful we bought a Supporting Membership. The home itself is cozy and comfortable. The beds are amazing. The view impeccable. The three screen doors in the house allow the beautiful breeze to flow throughout. The home is well kept and stocked with everything you could need. I almost hesitate to write such a compelling review because this little gem should be kept a secret. Thank you John and Valerie for the use of your little piece of paradise. Perfect getaway!

My first visit to Martha's Vineyard could not have been better. This spacious home offered a relaxing getaway for my friends and I, far away from all the crowds on the island. Cooking and lounging on the private deck was ideal. It was so nice and quiet that it was easy to forget there are neighboring homes. The home's location allows for a leisurely stroll to the beach and easy access to the nearby running/biking trails. Running or biking to the famous Morning Glory Farm is about five miles away and quite pleasant. The larger towns and attractions on the island are only a short drive away. I highly recommend to those looking for a peaceful Martha's Vineyard vacation, and I will definitely be back!

Lovely spacious home - perfect getaway for groups!

I've had the pleasure to stay here a handful of times over the past few years and it's been wonderful every time. The house is clean and well-stocked with beds and linens to sleep 8+. The back deck is perfect for lounging, grilling and an outdoor feast. Our group loves sitting in the great room, playing cards and having a few drinks, occasionally watching a movie on the huge TV on the rainy days. I'll be coming here for many, many years!

Comfortable, modern home walkable to the beach

We spent Memorial Day weekend exploring the Vineyard with our home base at this spacious house. The house comfortably sleeps at least ten, with a back deck perfect for grilling and enjoying the outdoors. The beach is about a mile away and provides incredible ocean access and a rare chance to look south on the Atlantic with nothing obstructing your view! The sites at Edgartown and Oak Bluffs are a short drive (or great bike ride!) away, and we were even able to walk to the house from the airport. Don't forget to go to Larsen's for fresh oysters!

Nice house steps from the beach

This is a great house, about a half hour walk through the woods and fields to a very secluded ocean beach. House has everything you could need in a vacation house, with ample parking and a nice back deck, and is toward the back of a quiet road. Located in central Martha's Vineyard, very close to the airport and bike paths as well.

clean, comfortable and enjoyable

My stay on Martha’s Vineyard, in West Tisbury was the most restful, enjoyable week imaginable. The house, in a wooded area was very clean and nicely decorated. Our party of 9, included 3 children had plenty of room. The rear deck was very spacious, and perfect for entertaining. There was free cable and internet, and a large eat-in kitchen. The Beach is a short ride from the house, a spectacular scenic vista. Great for bicycling and hiking, a convenient beautiful place! The owners explained everything and were always a telephone call away, they were a pleasure to deal with. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Perfect getaway!

This is the perfect place to stay whether you are taking a trip with a group of friends or your family ( kids). It's spacious,very clean and comfortable. The best beach on the island is super close. It's close to everything especially the bike paths which will get you everywhere.

Perfect for us ! Bright, sunny, clean and comfortable. Great deck off livingroom/kitchen. Ate on deck every night. Great beach with limited access and fresh water pond. Secluded but close to everything. Coming here for years and plan to come back for many more.

Fall getaway in Martha Vineyard

Fall on MV island is beautiful! We returned to this same rental because we loved it so much a few years before in the summer. The house is very spacious, clean and centrally located. We love their private ocean beach a short drive away and it also has a fresh water pond just beyond the dunes. This time we brought our bikes and enjoyed the trail on beach rd., around the airport, down to Edgartown and crossed over on the ferry to Chappaquiddick. We dined in Edgartown, Oak Bluff, Vineyard Haven all was excellent. You must visit the light houses, each is special - Aquinnah is the only one you can climb to the top and enjoy the spectacular views and Edgartown has memorial stones for children who have left us too soon - it was special to visit Grace. Ohhh - we didn't play golf but next time we will bring our clubs!

Next to Long Point

We love the Vineyard and always have a hard time getting up early to get across the Island to Long Point. Not with this house! It is right around the corner and we don't have to worry about the parking lot sign reading FULL. ALSO... the owners were WONDERFUL! They made vacationing in the Vineyard a breeze! :)
