Great location!!! Was hot (80 degrees) and stuffy upon our arrival. The smells dissipated once we cooled it down. Only one cockroach (in bathroom) not bad for ground floor! Bring your own soap/bodywash. All else was GREAT!

Perfect Kona location

We love the salt water pool, beautiful gardens and friendly atmosphere at Casa de Emdeko. Grilling dinner as the sunsets over the ocean is the perfect way to relax with family and friends after a busy day exploring the island.

Rusty but functional and spacious

Two triathletes stayed for nine nights to race the Ironman World Championship in Kona. The building is over 60 years old, but maintained well. The common area is useful with a small beach and pools. The sunset is gorgeous. The down sides are noise from neighbors and not enough parking space.

So truly sorry about the neighbors! we will talk to them. Secondly, during ironman it's the one time of the year where the parking is filled. All other time periods of the year, lots of open parking, does not seem to be poise an issue. We are sorry though!

Week long visit to Kona with four kids.

We went as a family. The two swimming pools drew us in and the location next to the Ocean was awesome. Sometimes the waves crash hard enough to spray over the rock wall onto the salt water pool. It was really neat. The sunsets and patio have tiki torches lit up every night. We enjoyed our time. The unit itself was clean. We appreciated that the unit had some boogie boards, umbrella, wagon, and beach stuff to use and made our trips to the beach much nicer.

Stay by the Ocean

Great location with 2 pools & small beach. Clean, lush grounds with friendly people. Air conditioner did not work. Blinds intended for replacement were disgusting. New kitchen but old bathrooms & limited storage for clothes. Overall a nice rental but glad we didn’t plan to stay inside much.

We apolozie, we did not see any concerns stated during your stay regarding the A/C. We set high standard for ourselves and try everything in our power to rectify any issues or concerns our guests may have. These wonderful owners just recently purchased this unit and is slowly upgrading the unit. The blinds are in the process of getting replaced and will be once we have the materials arrive on Island. Familiar with the Casa as family has a time share there. We enjoy the Casa's grounds featuring wonderful salt water pool and beach area. Not a huge complex so plenty of space to relax in the common outdoor areas. Had 1 very minor maintenance issue that was quickly resolved through communication with Knutson & Associates. Unit was well stocked with everything needed.

Beautiful, quiet, beachfront condo at a great price!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We chose ground floor for easy access and it did not disappoint. So nice to be steps away from the beautiful infinity salt water pool, sand, and large community covered patio with tables and chairs and BBQs. The unit itself was very well stocked (above and beyond) and had beach towels, beach blankets, beach bags (check out the cabinets inside and outside). Huge TV in each bedroom, very nice beachy furniture. Very clean. Third unit from the corner closest to the ocean. Great customer service and they allowed us late checkout since we were not flying until 3:30. Just know that you have to stand on the porch and look left for the “ocean view”. Select a second or third story unit for a true ocean view. The nightly sunset conch blowers were an awesome addition as well as the convenience of a mini market on the street side of the property. Like most properties in Kona, there is no sandy beach access. Overall highly recommend!

Beautiful Property…didn’t feel family friendly.

We loved the beautiful property and enjoyed our stay very much, but don’t feel that young kids are welcome by residents. Pros: The beach, pools, and condo were awesome. Well-stocked with the essentials we needed for vacation (beach chairs, umbrella, wagon, kitchen & BBQ tools, etc). Minor issue with an AC condensation leak, but property manager was attentive, communicated quickly, & took care of it promptly. The condo was supposed to have a cooler, but when we couldn’t find one, the property management allowed us to purchase one & be reimbursed, which was awesome. The kids (8 and 9) loved the pools and grassy areas to play. We travelled with family friends and having communal BBQ’s & tables was great for family meals outside! Cons: There were some families with kids here, but it seems this complex is mostly older couples and retirees, not many kids running around. We had issues with 2 different residents - one who shushed the kids (who were playing on the grass around 7pm, not excessively loud by any means) and another who barked orders at them when she would get in the pool, telling them not to jump in, splash her, or swim/play in “her area”. Rather than address her issues with an adult, she felt it appropriate to boss kids were playing and having fun and not being rude, inconsiderate, or obnoxious in any way…just being kids. We didn’t feel that kids were welcome here and probably wouldn’t book again because of it.

Stayed a wonderful month at Casa 117

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I recently returned from almost a month at this unit. At various times I also had a couple of relatives with me. They appreciated the master bedroom with king bed and large bathroom with double sinks. I found the bed in the smaller bedroom very comfortable, and the 2nd shower bathroom just across the hall quite convenient. I had previously owned a unit at "the Casa" as well as stayed at other rental units in the past. This unit on the first floor near the cabana and magnificent oceanfront views, was very convenient. It was also the most fully outfitted of any rental unit I had stayed in: abundant beach towels, linens, kitchenware, appliances, beach equipment like coolers and beach chairs etc. Plus the very essential washer and dryer. VERY fully furnished! Knutson staff were also very responsive to any very minor issues or questions I had, and the experience renting through them was both friendly and efficient. I love the Casa de Emdeko complex, with its beautiful tropical landscaping, pools, and especially the cabana and ocean frontage from which we would watch sunsets...frequently "green flash" sunsets... almost every night. You will enjoy vacationing here!
