Hosts communicated frequently on the VRBO app and responded quickly to our questions. The house was very neat and clean and cozy! Very quiet neighborhood.

Perfect Little Getaway

This property was perfect for my husband and I. We had everything we needed for meals in the kitchen and plenty of linens. Our dogs enjoyed the small side yard. Check in was easy, and the whole place was immaculate. Super cute and cozy! Thank you for a great stay!

Clean, Quiet, Friendly and Cozy !

My wife & i enjoyed our stay very much. The place was clean, well stocked & the bed was very comfy. Doug, our host was very accommodating. We had plenty of privacy and felt right at home the entire stay. We would definitely recommend the Hummingbird house.

Stay at Hummingbird house

When we first pulled up I was a little concerned because there were other places nearby and I thought it was more secluded, but once I went in and saw how clean it was and the beautiful view and privacy outback I didn't have any concerns. It was a beautiful place to stay and very peaceful and very close to all we wanted to do. I would stay here again if we're ever in the area and can book it.

Hummingbird House

We enjoyed our stay. The home was decorated so cute, location was great and super clean! We had a fire every night and also saw a deer. We come up to Michigan once or twice a year to visit family and will stay here again.

Perfect Pint Size Cabin

This cabin has all the creature comforts a family AND pet could ask for except a fenced yard, though there is plenty of room to improvise a dog run with the right supplies. Amazingly decorated, down to the paint and dishes, while being completely efficient and functional. Close to many trails and forests no shortage of outdoor adventures to get to in under an hour. We will visit again!

Quiet little getaway

Had a great stay at the hummingbird house. Everything was very clean and the decor was cohesive right down to the dishes. Very private setting even though you have neighbors on both sides and behind. The bed was super comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the wildlife in the marsh of the used to be lake. We even saw a Merlin Falcon and a Bald Eagle. Definitely a high light. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation

Quaint Stay at the Hummingbird

Don't judge a book by it's cover and the past reviews are accurate. When you drive up to the Hummingbird you might be less then impressed, but once you get in the unit it is well decorated, very charming and quaint little property. Great views of what used to be the Sanford Lake and we were treated to a couple of great sunrises. The property is small, so it is great for 2 people and your dog, beyond that it would be a tight squeeze. The property has everything that you would need for an enjoyable stay.

Started out with a generic easy-to-guess passcode for the door, which we kindly asked if the host would be able to update that to something more unique that only the current guests would know, even if remotely (like most wifi locks?), but the host said they were already out of town. Mind you, it was 30 minutes before checkout time on the day we were to arrive. Then, we get there and it turns out the manual lock didn't even work, and when he finally gets a handyman out there it apparently wasn't even properly installed to where that lock had EVER actually closed, and we were lucky to notice it. Never an apology or even acknowledgement for the lack of security and peace of mind. Very poor communication and assistance from the host in general, even before any issues. The only professional, kind, and helpful messages we got from them were the automated ones. The things we wouldn't have mentioned if not for the lock situation: lots of living and dead bugs inside, the listing pictures are outdated & from other properties, the riverside is inaccessible, and we found the bed horribly uncomfortable and stiff. It's decorated cute, but nowhere near worth the price at all.

The guest presented with a grueling series of multiple minor requests long before her stay. All of her numerous questions were professionally answered. The property was secure, clean and safe for her arrival and short stay. When we learned the deadbolt didn’t latch properly and it was corrected by early the next day. Yet the main lock was always functional and safe. The property was not as unfairly described by the guest.

My daughter & I stayed here while attending a conference at the Soaring Eagle. Accommodations were as described. Small but very nice & it served our purposes perfectly. Communication was easy & prompt. Would recommend.
