Treat yourself to an expansive space amongst the redwoods

I chose this place because I wanted to stay amongst the redwoods, and it did not disappoint. The unique floorplan, the PHENOMENAL HOST, the beauty of the trees viewed from the HUGE windows... Totally awesome find!

This was a great house for a family gathering. Lots of space and good configuration of bedrooms. We had a wonderful time and would stay there again. Convenient to many activities!

Nice stay

My family of 12 and 2 small dogs had a nice stay. The large kitchen and family room was nice. The kids kept busy with all the toys.

Fishing the Eel River

Good impression. Good location. There were 6 in our group and we all had beds and it was close to the Eel River. Only one issue: a dog came to the front door each night and barked and barked.

Great place for a family get together with 6 kids and 6 adults. The kids loved the toys and we liked having the room to gather together. We loved the area-so much to do! Glad our kids were all 3 and over because lots of small toys to be mindful of.

Beautiful & Cozy

We had an incredible stay! I would stay again, no question. This house is amazing! It's spacious clean, well stocked (kitchen, bathroom, cleaning supplies), SUPER cozy, and has so much character. We had a fire every night while watching movies together on the massive and comfy couch. This house was great for our group of instructors & college students, and would also be wonderful for a family reunion or vacation.

Worked really well for our family. Loved that the teenagers had their own space downstairs! Really responsive owner/manager. We slept with a couple of star wars characters. We really appreciated the heads-up about parking on the STEEP driveway. This property has a LOT of stairs. Definitely not ADA accessible.

Cozy home tucked near the trees

We enjoyed our stay. The home was lovely and very cozy. A few items I would like to give feedback on. The trash compactor is pretty nasty and needs to be disposed of. The master shower, the faucets are old and it's very hard to turn the water off and get the water to stop dripping, maybe replace the faucets. The upstairs toilet doesn't flush well and also needs to be replaced. The kitchen could have been cleaner upon our arrival but we made due.We couldn't locate the dishwasher detergent nor the washer machine detergent. But we did stack the towels in the washer and piled up the linens.We truly enjoyed our stay and would book again. The home just needs some tlc :)Thank you for our week in Fortuna!

Good house for family to gather

Beautiful location near the redwoods. House is older, but great for families to gather (larger living room and dining room and kitchen). There are lots of stairs between bedrooms, so not great for crawling babies. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking, but not well organized (we had to open every drawer when looking for something). Loved the redwoods in the backyard and beautiful view. Living room needs a new smoke detector.

Steps

My only complaint is I wasn't aware of all the steps. There was no mention of them and only 1 picture showed 2 steps to a bedroom. I have very bad knees and don't do many steps. I had to give my brother the main floor bedroom as he had a stroke a while back and also has issues with steps. Under 'accuracy of online listing' I only gave a 1 because of no mention of steps.

Good trip with family

Our family had a great stay. It was a little hard to find, luckily I had looked at the photos online and knew what the house looked like. We are not from the area so def not used to all the hills/mountains. I think it should be made more clear of just how steep the driveway is to the house, that was shocking for us. Communication with property owner was excellent. She was so nice & responded so quickly to all messages. There was Plenty of space for all of us, big open living/dining/kitchen space. It did get hot in the house & we couldn’t figure out the temp. Tons of windows & we wish we could have opened more of them to get some fresh air, or that there would have been some fans. The toilet in the bottom floor had trouble flushing sometimes. Tons of light switches & some were labeled but I wish they all would have been, would have been so much easier. The tv was very tricky, again just wish there was more direction on how to work it, we kept it off most of the trip. Overall good trip, nice location, cutest little town, would def stay again.
