This was such a fun, unique place to stay. Very close to amenities (Lexington, Richmond, etc.). The beds are very comfortable. The place is roomy, the decor works - lots of interesting antiques. We enjoyed our short stay.

Downstairs is roomy and nice. The wood floors are beautiful. The stairs are very hard to maneuver. There are holes in the 2nd floor and you can feel wood moving, making unsafe feeling. 2 toilets upstairs a bonus. Urine stained floors not at all comforting. Both showers are in high tubs, anyone with mobility issues will not be able to shower. Outside grass was unkept. Booked 2 days left after the first night.

The house is unique, it gives you the feel of an 1800s log cabin with today’s modern amenities. The 100yr old books, the decor, and the vibe of the place has a unique charm. The bed is super comfortable, the couches are comfortable and good for conversations around the fireplace.

We stayed in a wonderfully cozy cabin that felt like a hidden gem. The spacious main bedroom was a standout, and the full kitchen came stocked with everything needed to whip up meals with ease—including a dedicated coffee bar that was a morning favorite. Thoughtful touches like a heated blanket tucked in the dresser and smart TVs in both the bedrooms and living area added comfort and convenience. The cabin itself oozes character and charm, with a rustic aesthetic that’s been beautifully preserved by the owners. It’s a refreshing contrast to the more modern buildings nearby, making it feel like a true retreat. One unexpected perk was its location—just minutes from several wineries and distilleries, which made for some delightful day trips.If there’s one downside, it’s simply that there aren’t more cabins like this in the area. This one sets the bar high.

The cabin was very cozy and I loved the decor. Loved that there was a bathroom in each bedroom. We didn't get to use it but there was an outdoor fire pit.

The house was a neat old place. We enjoyed the history, but something’s could have been better. We were thankful for the early check in. The grass needed mowing, there was mold on the shower curtains. The place had a bad smell and fly strips with dead flies hanging on the inside. The bedroom doors don’t close. I appreciate the work done to restore the old house but we were looking for something a little more relaxing.

The cabin was exactly as pictured on the VRBO site and a perfect fit for two adults. We were in town to enjoy horse country and some bourbon country too - perfect location! Minor issue with a leaking shower and it was fixed within 48 hours of our arrival - no inconvenience whatsoever. Owner is very responsive and the attention to detail in the cabin is clear (even makeup washcloths in the bathrooms!) We were there in extremely hot weather and the AC was absolutely fine - ceiling fans also fantastic! We would definitely stay again and would love to experience it in colder, cozier weather so we could enjoy the firepit and the fireplace inside too.

Looks are deceiving and the pictures do not do this location justice! This cabin is absolutely amazing! We spent the first two hours marveling at all the intricacies inside! There are many old books to look at and glance at. The showers in the room made it easy around bedtime while we were tending to 3 children on our trip. A playpen was provided for us and was set up when we arrived. I ran into a neighbor as well who was very friendly. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back to check out the sites and attractions nearby in the book about the house. There is also a book explaining the history of the house. As history buffs, we thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Great old cabin

Beautiful old cabin with fantastic woodwork. Comfortable bed with very nice linens and great towels. Quiet area but still close to the interstate and the Lexington area. We loved it.

Stepping back in time

Absolutely love the house and all the pieces in it that take you back in time. Especially love the letter written by Abraham Lincoln hanging on the stairwell. And love the book showing all the hard work that was done to rebuild this home. Very comfortable and homie would definitely stay again.
