El encanto de una casa de campo rústica de mediados de siglo escondido en 3 acres 1 milla a Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven center. Adquirido en 1950 por los abuelos de Lisa, el estilo original de esta reliquia familiar se ha conservado amorosamente. Cómodos muebles nuevos con detalles de época, hermosas sábanas, colchones viscoelásticos, mucho espacio al aire libre y privacidad, y una ubicación conveniente define esta propiedad. A pie de playa y parada de bus. Acceso directo a carril bici.

Sala de estar y comedor abiertos, con cocina de galera separada. Un corredor cubierto al aire libre conecta los dormitorios, el baño con ducha y el baño a la sala de estar principal. Hay un porche de pantalla, porche exterior, patio y patio enorme. La propiedad se encuentra a 100 metros de la carretera. Un montón de aparcamiento.

Un montón de excelentes comodidades! Los colchones de espuma y la memoria de la memoria, almohadas agradables, sábanas y edredones de algodón suave y acogedoras mantas hacen que dormir sea muy cómodo. La mayoría de nuestros huéspedes eligen no traer un automóvil ya que la propiedad está ubicada en el centro. Mucho menos de 1 milla, taxis disponibles, parada de autobús cercana, acceso directo al carril bici desde la propiedad. Se requieren reservaciones de ferry para vehículos.

Otras cosas a tener en cuenta:
Se aplican tarifas de temporada y es posible que no se acepten fechas de estadía de solo fines de semana de junio a septiembre.

La propiedad se encuentra adyacente al hospital. Una cerca de privacidad de 8 pies escondida en el paisaje separa la propiedad. Cuando se llama a los helicópteros Med Flight para llevar a cabo emergencias críticas por vía aérea, el sonido es muy alto, generalmente por un promedio de 2 a 3 minutos durante el aterrizaje y el despegue. De lo contrario, la propiedad es muy tranquila y relativamente no se ve afectada por su vecino, ya que solo la vida asistida y los consultorios médicos están en el lado del hospital más cercano a la propiedad.

Cottage on Oaks Bluff

The cottage was clean, full of charm, and in a central location to access the entire vineyard. It felt off the beaten path until we became more familiar with the island. Be sure to bring a small flashlight if you plan to arrive in the evening. Public transit was amazing once we took some time to navigate its function. Aquinnah is a must see!

Charming and authentic Vineyard cottage

We had an amazing time staying here! The cottage is super cute and Lisa's recommendations for restaurants to try and beaches to visit were very helpful. There are also plenty of games, a great outdoor space, and 2 kayaks. A few helicopters landed at the hospital while we were here but they're in and out quickly and we didn't mind at all. Lisa couldn't have been a better host. We can't wait to come back!

A hidden rustic gem !

We couldn't have asked for a host that cared more about our comfort! Lisa went out of her way to ensure we had everything we need ... even going out and purchasing the best warm and fuzzy blankets, in anticipation of cool night temps. The house location is perfect !!! It's super close to town yet tucked away in a location that gives you a forest type feel. The house itself it very unique as is explained in description and other reviews. For our stay (four 40 age women on a girls trip) it's uniqueness was a welcomed experience, even the occasional helicopter landing just over our fence. The house is decorated with great taste that gives off a soothing beach vibe, the bed was actually more comfortable than mines at home, towels were hotel grade for sure, and the house was definitely clean. If you are an adventurous, nature lover, more relaxed type person ... this is definitely the spot for your island stay. Thanks again Lisa !

Wonderful stay at Oak Bluffs

Exactly as described. The layout is indeed uncommon but it worked great. The bedrooms are pleasant and the main section is good for relaxing and sleeping. There is no aie conditioning but the fans worked great even on the hottests days of August. Lisa was very responsive. We had an issue with propane for the gas grill and she took care of it immediately. The house is 3 minutes drive for Oak Bluffs and easy acces towards Edgartown or Chilmark. I would definitely recommend it.

Not great for families with young children

We stayed here in July with our infant daughter. The pictures showed that the place was basic and a bit older. We were not expecting fancy or a lot of amenities but we were expecting a basic level of cleanliness, upkeep, and that the house would be appropriate for our family. That was not the case. First and foremost none of the bedrooms connected to the main house or each other from the inside. You had to walk outside, to doors that did not lock from the inside, to get to the bedrooms. This doesn't work for families with young kids. We would not and did not leave our infant daughter in a room that is only accessed from outside and open to anyone. The bedrooms didn't connect to each other, the shower, or living room/kitchen. This you could not tell from the pictures and was not disclosed in the listing. For families with children this is important information and we would not have booked this property if we had known. The house itself was run down with holes in most screen windows and doors thereby letting bugs in. When we arrived there were ants everywhere. While they did come after a few days to put some stuff down to get rid of them we couldn't put our daughter down for fear of them crawling all over her. We had ant carcasses around the whole stay. The basic amenities such as soap were not provided. There was septic safe toilet paper but that was it. I've always been provided basics such as soap, paper towels etc. we also did not receive any information from the owner until the day before arrival and only upon prompting. Overall we were disappointed in the property and our experience with the owner. The island is great however.

The property is a classic Martha's Vineyard cottage built in the early 1900s. Connecting bedrooms with covered breeze ways to the main part of a cottage is common for this type of property. However, thank you for the input. We'll rework the description to explain the design more clearly for those who are not familiar. As for cleanliness, the cottage is absolutely not dirty. It's just an older property which is a comparably very reasonably priced Martha's Vineyard seasonal rental for 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6, living room, dining area, kitchen, screen porch, outdoor porch, patio, huge yard on 3 acres in a prime location 1 - 1.5 mi to 2 harbor towns, walk to beach. The rental fee for a property meeting the expectations of a less rustic property would be a considerably more expensive rental on Martha's Vineyard. One cannot get even a decent hotel room during high season on the island for the low rental fee charged for this property. As for the ants, that was a unique issue resulting from the tropical storm that blew through just prior to the guest's stay. We assume the insects came into the property seeking higher ground from the exceptional amount of rainfall. The problem was reported by housekeeping just prior to guest arrival. The guest contact listed on the reservation was called immediately and informed upon arrival he would be met by the property manager to evaluate the situation. The guest specifically asked us not to use toxins to exterminate. The property manager researched an alternative means of exterminating and returned with a safe solution. The guest reported the problem had been resolved within hours. A few days later the guest was called and contact via text by the host to follow up. He reported again that there was no longer an ant problem. Plus, indicated everything was fine in general at the property.
