Tarpon Lagoon is the perfect peaceful location to Boat, Swim, Dive, Snorkel right in your back yard. Exposure has beautiful sunsets from the back balcony, and a nice deep heated pool is nestled in the partial shade, right next to the clear lagoon water. Lagoon is teaming with wildlife, Manatees, Turtles, Tarpon, and Dolphin are a normal occurrence. If you want to try your hand at a little dock fishing, Tarpon Lagoon has some of the best water that is available at a house in the marathon area. The wide body of sea-air lagoon allows many different activities in a safe area for practice, or more challenging areas right in the bay, which is just a few hundred feet away. The Large bike path connects this area from the center of Marathon for leisurely walks, or long bike rides. This house also features a heated pool and pool table. The fifth bedroom is outside down the stairs on the first floor with its own living area and full bathroom. The house was spacious and comfortable! Everything was as described. Communication was easy and Adam was quick to reply. If you are looking for a great location in Marathon, this place was great!

My family has been visiting the Florida Keys for generations, and now that my husband and I have kids of our own, we’ve continued that tradition every summer. This was our first time staying at Tarpon Lagoon in Marathon. We know many homes in the Keys are older and don’t expect perfection, but we do expect cleanliness, safety, and things to work—and unfortunately, this rental fell short in several important ways.The issues we encountered:•The pool was cloudy our entire stay and never cleared up.•The ice maker didn’t work.Outdoor chairs were old and unstable—close to falling apart.•There was mold in the bathrooms, and hair left in the shower upon arrival.•One of our guests had to clean her own bathroom sinks before using them.•The trash can was already half full, and there was only one available for the entire stay.•The air conditioning was restricted to 72 degrees or you’re charged extra—problematic in late July/August heat. We had to keep blinds shut constantly just to manage the temperature.•Remotes were outdated, several didn’t work, and the downstairs TV didn’t work at all.•Wi-Fi wasn’t working at first, though to the owner’s credit, they did respond and it was fixed by the next day.•A sliding glass door was broken, and one of our guests stepped onto the balcony and got glass shards in her feet—this was a major safety concern.•Checkout is at 10 am and the cleaning crew was there the last day at 8 am rushing us. There are a lot better places to stay

PARADISE LAGOON

Tarpon Lagoon is one of the BEST places we have ever rented thru VRBO. You cannot beat the location, the great pool and dock area, the home with lots of space, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, great washer&dryer (really needed by the saltwater) and very responsive owners and caretakers. The unexpected happens and a couple major items needed to be fixed and they were very quickly. The home was our staging place to go off on adventures then return and relax in the pool, have a cookout and just enjoy our 3 generation family reunion. There were 8 of us - bring extra beach chairs for around the pool. The extra fridge/freezer on lower lever came in handy for drinks and ice. We also rented a fishing boat from Cocoa's to do some off shore fishing - got some good snapper but never landed the big one we hoped for. We did see a variety of sea life in the lagoon - manatee, turtles, otters & lots of Tarpon. Put a green light in the water at night and you will be amazed!! The lagoon is very quiet and it was fun to sit on the porch and watch all the boats go by & sunsets. If you like watching airplanes - you get a good view of them taking off and they observe quiet hours of only after 8am and done by 10pm. We were there for the 4th of July and some of the neighbors put on a spectacular fireworks display - WoW!! We stayed 2 weeks and it definitely wasn't enough time to see and do everything we wanted. We highly recommend Tarpon Lagoon for the perfect waterfront getaway!!

Love the Cove

If you get a chance, the cove where this property is located is amazing. From sea life to sunset, you don't need a boat to enjoy. Property was as described. There were 8 of us, and there was plenty of room. Will definitely attempt to book again. Thank you!

2025 wedding

The house is in a great location and was accommodating to our family. However, we did have some maintenance issues. The air conditioner was making such loud noises in one room.,we couldnt use. (Property manager notified).brown condensation leaking in bathroom.The rail on the balcony was not secured to house , very loose, not suitable for kids. The floor around pool was very slippery and not cleaned all week. By Friday very cloudy. There was no rail between pool and canal.

Chilling on the water

Great location and space to share with adult children and grandchildren. So much to do. Great location to sombrero beach, restaurants,bars and stores. Great attractions for the little ones too. Could use some updating and more outdoor furniture.

Keys getaway

The property is nice but could use some routine maintenance. Digital door lock on lower level sometimes would not work. Patio doors were difficult to shut. All small things. The house was lovely. The location was a little off the beaten path. Overall we enjoyed our stay. L

Great family escape

The house is in a great location and the owners were fantastic to deal with. Any issue we may have had, they were quick to respond and get it resolved. The pool and deck area were nice to hang out in.

My family and I recently stayed at the “Tarpon Lagoon” in Marathon Key, FL for a week. Let’s just say that this house was NOT what we expected. We had a wonderful trip, but the house was lacking in what we were expecting to be staying in and spending our time in. When we first arrived, there were a few things “off” but we were able to fix / work around so we didn’t contact the PM (as we didn’t want someone wandering the house if we were not home with all our personal belongings there). As the day(s) went on, it was just issue after issue. At that point, we knew that no one would even come and try to fix things (a ceiling fan was IN PIECES on a dresser when we arrived)We tried to brush a lot of it off, but as the days wore on, they were impacting our time in the house. We had to make sure to flip breakers on/off; not use certain appliances; be cognizant of our water use (there was 6 of us, the house is advertised for up to 12 – no chance 12 people could get hot water). The family finally sat down to try to write down the “issues” we encountered during our week at this hovel. The list is too long for the review; but MANY of the advertised amenities were not available or useable. We just were not impressed with any part of this house.

Tarpon Lagoon Rental

Home needs some basic maintenance. I believe that the former renters left a mess for the maid crew as we got there at 4 PM and they had to call 2 more maids to help clean. We also found that the two sliding glass doors on the front of the house had the out side glass shattered and one would not close or lock. Also the fan in the one bed room when we turned it on one of the blades flew off.The Grill was not usable as all the burners were rusted and falling to pieces.Nothing was a real problem for us as we came together as a family to enjoy each other and do a little fishing.We respected the house as if were our own and leave it in as good or better condition then we found it. We did reserve this same house for next year

Fantasy fest and birthdays!

Our group of 9 had a wonderful time! So much space inside and out! The dock and pool is where we spent most all our time at the house. We loved having a huge shared space, the pool was great, drank from the coconuts in the yard. The dock was named the aquarium for the week. Manatees, dolphins, turtles and a million fishies! We snorkeled right in the lagoon, very nice neighborhood and neighbors. We would absolutely stay again. I wont lie, I was sad to go. 🐚🌴🐟

Overall great stay

The property was as described. Great amount of space for the whole family in the common areas and nice private bedrooms. Excellent water location with lots of life right off the dock. Nice clear water! The house could use some general maintenance and upgrades but nothing that would hinder us staying again. The kitchen water pressure was not good but bathrooms had no problems. Great pool. We enjoyed our stay!

Wasn’t use to an induction stove, but got use to it and it was grest.!

We came to Lobster and fish. Horrible year for that, but we had a good time anyway. Was a little disappointed in the dock, as it had a couple of broken boards right where you get in the boat, my son replaced them. Wasn’t a big fan of the gravel that you had to walk over to get to the dock. As soon as it rained or got wet the tile was very slick.

Family vacay

We loved this property. I don’t know why anyone would not give this a 10/10 because I have stayed in multiple places in Marathon and this is by far my favorite. The amount of wildlife outside below our dock was incredible. We saw manatee, dolphin, turtles, rainbow fish, tarpon and my son even caught a small barracuda.the sunsets were amazing and the space for a large family is great. There may be a few little cosmetic issues but nothing that would make it a bad time. Wear water shoes on the pool deck because it’s slippery. The fun we had and memories made is invaluable!!!

Great Place

Everything about the property was great. The house could use some TLC regarding, pool patio is death trap, breakers switches kept popping and furniture could use some updating. Those things did not impact our stay at all, this is only informational for the future.
