New on VRBO -Welcome to FortMorganSeaside, our beautiful 5-bedrooms/5.5-bath is almost-gulf front sitting 150 feet from the white sand beach and catty-corner to our private beach access. Our home has panoramic views of the gulf and a family-size private pool. It. We are located in the beautiful Surfside Shores, a unique private beachfront community on the white sugar sands of the Gulf of Mexico in Fort Morgan AL, not near Fort Morgan Public Beaches. Ideally situated, this almost gulf front home with its in-ground private pool, and spectacular views is the perfect setting to enjoy a happy, relaxing family or friends vacation getaway.
Located just13 miles from Gulf Shores on the Ft. Morgan island peninsula with its uncrowded beaches and beautiful coastal vegetation, FortMorganSeaside is located in an ideal private beach community off of the main highway. This newer built beach house with its 9 foot ceilings, tall windows, 5 bedrooms, and 5.5 baths, sleeps 13 comfortably. All 5 bedrooms have their own private bath. Unwind as you take in the panoramic view, sounds, and mist of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico with its stunning sunrises and sunsets.
The top-level has a large open living and dining area with full glass door to the deck, perfect for taking in the soothing sound of the ocean, the salt air, gulf views, watching the surf, spotting dauphins, and open starry skies! The living area has plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to watch an awesome sunset, have fun conversations, or catch a movie on the flat-screen TV. Much of the new coastal furnishings and art were created by local artists. The dining area can seat 12, room for the whole gang to enjoy family meals or a board game while enjoying the beautiful gulf views in the background.
The fully equipped kitchen has quartz countertops with all the new appliances and cookware that you need for meal preparation along with bar counter/seating. The convenient half bath has a fun coastal decor. The top-level also has a queen master suite with a chair and a private tiled bath with a large glass-enclosed rain shower. All bedrooms have private bathrooms and 3 bedrooms have comfortable chairs especially useful for relaxing quietly, rocking the baby, or teleworking.
The First level has 4 bedrooms each with a private bath. Two front bedrooms have great views of the gulf with its soothing ocean sounds. The SW gulf view bedroom has a queen bed, comfortable chair, and large ottoman. Its private bathroom has a large vanity with a glass-enclosed rain shower. The SE gulf view bedroom has 2 double beds and its private bath has a glass-enclosed shower with a great view of the gulf. The 4th bedroom has a queen bed, a comfortable glider chair and large ottoman. Its private bath also has a tile glass-enclosed shower. The 5th bedroom, or kids room has two full-size built-in bunk beds with stairs to the top twin bunks. There is also a junior size day bed and a kids-size table/chairs for the kids to hang out and play. There is also a pack-n-play, but bring your own sheets for it. All 5 bedrooms have flat-screen TVs. A full-sized washer and dryer are conveniently located on the second level.
The Ground Floor entrance has an indoor stairway with a storage room for chairs, and pool/beach toys, as well as a 2nd refrigerator for convivence. Especially handy for the beach and pool. The beautiful in ground pool in on the ground level behind the house is an with a tanning shelf and seating area. From the tanning shelf there are stairs to the shallow 3-foot area and then a slight slant ending in 5-feet. Enjoy a night swim with spectacular pool lighting. A hot/cold poolside shower is conveniently located on the side of the house is great for a quick rinse after a day at the beach or pool. Parking is provided under the house with additional parking on the 3 car parking pad and double driveway. Additional amenities include high-speed wireless internet, cable TV, and an assortment of board games and books. We also provide our guest with light-weight aluminum beach chairs , beach towels, and a beach wagon. We know these are large items to have to pack.
Fort Morgan is a well-kept secret with its beautiful white sand beaches without the crowds where you can enjoy the sunrises and sunsets from almost anywhere. Surrounded by natural habitats in Fort Morgan you will see great blue herrings, egrets, pelicans, turtles, dolphins, and much other wildlife - truly a unique coastal area like non other on the gulf. Our community in Fort Morgan, Surfside Shores I believe is one of the best neighborhoods of Fort Morgan because of its very large lots offering more privacy, sand dunes, lagoons, interesting wildlife, and natural coastal vegetation. Surfside Shores makes a great place for biking, walking, and jogging with all its miles of neighborhood streets. This Community has 2 beach accesses and owns the first 100 feet of beach from the mid-tide line for its residents to enjoy. Our house right by the main beach access.
Fort Morgan is known for its national historic fort, a 6,000-acre wildlife refuge, and the Dauphin Island Ferry to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. You can also enjoy bird-watching, charter fishing, golfing at world-class courses (Kiva Dunes next to Surfside Shores), offshore fishing, kayaking, biking, exploring the fort, shelling, ocean swimming, or simply relaxing enjoying this secluded paradise. Two new additions to Fort Morgan in 2023, we now have one of Alabama’s greatest restaurants, Jesses just 4 miles from the house. We also have a large new dollar store/market just 3 miles from the house that has just about everything you would need including fresh produce, and all at reasonable prices. Also close by are several great restaurants offering fresh seafood, burgers, pizza, along with several stores that have beach items, food, and necessities. If you feel like more entertainment Gulf Shores is just a 15-20-minute drive away and has a brand new zoo. The Orange Beach Wharf/Restaurants/Shopping and Foley’s shopping, new OWA (amusement park) attraction with a large in-door water park, and outlet mall are 30 minutes away.
We designed and built our beach home to spend time together with our 3 grown children as well as all our grandchildren. We wanted to give our family privacy while we are spending time together under the same roof. Along with all private baths, we added sound insulation to all the bedroom, bathroom and stairway walls, as well as added sound insulation between floors. Our house is not intended to pack in large groups. We strictly enforce our occupancy and renter age policies. We live in the area and our maintenance /security people live around the block which is great for addressing your needs. Note: There is a security camera outside in front and one in back of the house for safety and security. No cameras are inside the house.

We built our first home in Fort Moran in Surfside Shores 10 years ago as a family beach house to enjoy family time with our 3 grown children, 7 grandchildren, and close friends. We took great care to design and make this a special place that our whole family could enjoy. After many years in an Information Technology career, I retired and moved to the beach. It has been so much nicer looking out onto the ocean than a computer screen.
In 2016 we decided to vacation rent of our previous beach house. Then a few years ago we were able to buy another lot in Surfside that was only 150 feet from the gulf so we sold the first house to build this new one. We were able to build a larger home, kept many of the features that our family and guest loved, and add more features. We feel blessed to have this piece of paradise and hope that it will continue to be a place where our family and guests gather for many years to enjoy the natural beauty of the coast and to make wonderful memories.
We spend most of the off-season enjoying our home which allows us to take good care of our home ourselves, so we are truly a vacation rental by owner. We hope your family will enjoy our home as much as we do.

I fell in love with Fort Morgan the first time I saw it. It is truly a special place - one of the last frontiers along the gulf coast because it has not been commercialized. Fort Morgan still has a pristine natural environment with coastal vegetation, wildlife, uncrowded private beaches, all in a peaceful quiet setting. Fort Morgan is surrounded by water with Mobile Bay to the north and west and the Gulf of Mexico to the south. Many have commented “it is like being at the beach 40 years ago and “out in the country” at the same time.”
Of all the areas on Fort Morgan, I was drawn to the Surfside Shores neighborhood because it is unique with its large lots, sand dunes, lagoons, interesting wildlife, and natural coastal vegetation. Surfside makes a great place for biking, walking, and jogging with all its neighborhood’s paved streets. This Community has 2 private beach accesses and owns the first 100 feet of beach north from the mean tide line for all its residents and their guest to enjoy. No other neighbor has this.
When this lot came up for sale, we purchased it immediately because of its unique location being closer to the water than many "gulf-front" homes. The beach front lot across the street is not buildable so the views are great. Also, it is almost across from our main private beach access making it very convenient. FortMorganSeaside is located catty-corner from our private beach access, very convenient for the multiple trips back and forth. Due to its ideal location, you can enjoy the site, sounds, wonderful smells of the salt air beach without the sand from the deck. Our beach is private and uncrowded where you can easily relax in the sun, enjoy the surf, take long walks picking up interesting shells, enjoy the sunset, build sandcastles, or dauphin watch. The grandkids love our private pool where we relax when we have had enough of the beach and sand.

With all-new material, hopefully, you will not have any inconvenient maintenance issues. We also used many local artist's furnishings and artwork, making our home decor unique.
