First and foremost, the insects observed were seasonal countryside insects, not evidence of a neglected infestation or a lack of cleanliness. Villa Gessa is a historic countryside property surrounded by extensive gardens, fields and woodland, where temporary increases in insect activity can occasionally occur due to changing weather conditions. We completely understand that encountering insects can be unsettling, particularly when travelling with a young child. However, our property undergoes regular professional pest-control treatments, both indoors and outdoors, alongside continuous cleaning and maintenance, to ensure the highest possible standards for our guests. As soon as we were informed of the situation, we did everything we could to assist you, immediately offering additional cleaning and staff support. We also arranged an extraordinary professional pest-control treatment for the following day, in addition to our regularly scheduled preventive treatments. Unfortunately, you had already decided to leave the property shortly after breakfast on your first morning, before the additional professional treatment could take place. Nevertheless, we proceeded with the treatment as planned. We take great pride in the care and attention we dedicate to Villa Gessa, as reflected in the consistently excellent reviews from our guests. While we deeply regret that your experience was affected by this unexpected natural occurrence, we want future guests to know that we responded promptly, took your concerns seriously and made every effort to resolve the situation.
