Qué dulce el sonido de este tranquilo refugio de montaña. Este chalet bellamente decorado ofrece cuatro amplias suites principales, cada una con bañera de hidromasaje / baño privado y maravillosas áreas de reunión. Acceso rápido a una ruta de senderismo ubicada justo en la frontera del Parque Nacional Great Smoky Mountain: camine afuera y sea recibido todas las mañanas por las montañas. Esta vista boscosa también se puede disfrutar desde cualquier área del chalet con los grandes ventanales que se extienden desde el piso hasta la parte superior de los techos. Vista de las montañas solo durante los meses de invierno. Al igual que en cualquiera de nuestras propiedades, durante su estancia en Amazing Grace tendrá acceso a 3 piscinas ubicadas aquí en la montaña durante los meses de verano.

Great overall

Great experience overall. check in and check out was easy. be prepared for a STEEP drive to and from the residency. found bugs in bathtubs and around other parts of property during initial walkthrough, most alive, before even setting items into cabin, but clean for the most part. beds were comfy, with adequate blankets in every room. thermostat was easy to control, with one on each floor, other than top floor (pool table area). bears were not a very common threat, if that is a huge fear or problem for the stay. tubs took a long while to fill up, about 20-25 minutes, but showers had decent water pressure and didn’t take long to heat up. cabin had some minor cosmetic flaws, but was good for the short stay we had. market is about a 5 minute drive with everything you could possibly need, which was also a huge plus considering how far everything else was in town. would definitely book another cabin with this company!

Christine, we're glad you enjoyed your stay at Amazing Grace. The climb up to the property is steep, but it's well worth it! We apologize that you found bugs in the property; being in the midst of the national park we do have to deal with pests, and while our housekeeping team does their very best to keep homes bug-free, they do occasionally (and quickly!) make their way inside depending on the weather. We hope you'll come back again soon and allow the chance to serve you again!

Absolutely Perfect!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin was perfect for our getaway -- we had four adult couples and having four EQUAL king bed suites was perfect. The layout of the cabin was wonderful and it was perfect for all of our needs. We were able to make meals together in the kitchen, sit around the table, enjoy the hot tub and had everything we needed with no complaints. Just note that the advice to lock doors due to bears is recommended for a reason -- we had three bear sightings at the cabin and one bear got into a car an tore the interior looking for food. Our only "complaint" is that parking is a bit narrow, in a single line in the front of the cabin, which is a tad difficult due to the very steep drive to reach the cabin. But this did not affect our trip negatively in any way. I would highly recommend this cabin and working with Mountain Laurel Chalets was also easy and information.

Lovely house on top of a mountain

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is lovely, accommodating 6 adults with 4 children, ages 9 - 13 very comfortably. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Living spaces were great allowing space for all to enjoy separate activities. Well equipped kitchen. However, could use a couple new skillets. There is a 1-cup glass measuring cup, which is good. I would recommend adding a set of measuring cups, i.e., 1/4, 1/2, 1/3, 3/4 cups, as well as a 2-cup. The decks on front & back are nice. The front deck gets the sun & is showing the wear, boards are quite rough. The drive up to the location is typical of a mountain road, steep & twisting. Since it's located on the edge of the national park, we had 4 close range bear encounters. No problems, the bears just moved on. During our 5-day visit we enjoyed Ober Gatlinburg, Anakeesta, Sky Bridge, & Sugarlands Visitor Center where we walked the Cataract Falls trail, kids loved walking in the creek along the way. We dined at some favorite spots, No Way Jose's, for great Mexican food, The Smokey Mountain Brewery, for awesome pizza, and The Applewood Farmhouse Grill, for awesome fried chicken. Overall, I'd say wonderful place, just keep in mind that the bears live just over the hill.

Nice house but needs some work

We enjoyed our stay at Amazing Grace, but the house itself was somewhat shabby and in need of some updating. Things like a hole in the couch, cracked and chipped floor tiles in the bathrooms, holes in the walls of one bathroom where you could tell there used to be a towel rack, nails/screws sticking up in the trimming on the floor, where you could easily stub a toe, and a refrigerator door that felt like it was going to fall off every time you tried to open it. The location and layout of the house itself were great, but it is greatly in need of some repairs.

The layout was great and the location was good. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. However, the lower level had wet carpet with a smell to it. I called to let the management people know and if they did anything, we couldn't tell. The entire time we were their the carpet was wet with a mold smell. There were several small maintenance issues. Part of the kitchen counter trim is coming off, the garbage can was broken, the toilet would kick on and run in the middle of the night. None of those were a huge deal to us. We were just disappointed with the carpet situation.

Not What Expected

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This chalet was not quite what we expected it to be. It appears the unit needs some maintenance and updating done to it. We had broken chairs, busted tiles, towel racks missing, loose trim and soft spots on the floor and deck.We traveled with our extended family and we were not all able to sit in the living room together because there was not enough seating and it was too small. The dining room table had a busted chair so we could not all sit there either so it was disappointing. Our purpose of this vacation was to stay mostly at the cabin as our family was finally able to all come together yet we had to spread out due to lack of room and seating.My husband and I were on our tenth stay with Mountain laurel chalets. Over the past fifteen years we have always returned to you guys for your spectacular chalets, views and customer service. This time whenever I called to inquire about the chalet we were staying in the staff was not as friendly as in the past, expect for a lady, I think her name was Pam, she was very helpful.I hate to write a review like this as we have had many wonderful experiences but the one time we bring all our family it did not meet our expectations.On a bright note we saw bears everyday and even had them come up on the deck! We also saw a bob cat one more. This trip we saw the most bears ever!I am hoping our next Chalet will be better suited for us!

Thanks for the review Steve and we are glad you got to see the neighborhood bears. The trees across the street are actually inside the national park. The park service did give the owner permission to cut the underbrush a few feet back from the boundary, but no trees, so the view closes up in the summer when the trees leaf out, but you can't get any closer to the Smokies! Come back and see us soon.

Get Away Weekend

The house was clean but it was kind of strange, none of the bedrooms had bedskirts so you saw the box springs (tacky). Fireplaces were shut off which we read in the description that they are seasonal. Our suggestion would be to shut them off in June, July and August. It is still cool especially at night in May. Relaxing weekend...there is a bear that has claimed the neighborhood, fun to see (from afar).

There was an issue with one of the downstairs bathroom however, there was a crusted wash cloth left in the shower that was covered with pubic hair. A Perfect Retreat for a Winter Wonderland

Food, music and good friends - what else could you want? Sounds like you had the perfect combination for a wonderful stay in the mountains. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park boundary line is directly across the street from the cabin, so we are pretty restricted on how much of the view we can clear, so it is better in the winter with the foliage off the trees, but full of wildlife activity in the summer. The property has a pretty definied "bear path", so make sure to lock your car doors when the bears are around. We hope to see you again soon.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We always enjoy our stay here. The office staff are always so nice and helpful. You will not be disappointed staying at this chalet. I just wish this chalet had some type of window coverings so when the sun is out, it doesn’t get so hot in the front of the chalet.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed the chalet and had good customer service from our staff. The tall windows in the front are tinted with the darkest residential tint available, but the winter sun is still pretty bright at the angles we have during this time of year. The good news is, it's completely dark by 6:00! We look forward to your next visit with us.

Needs some updates not a good view

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: pictures were definitely deceiving. Tgere is very little view of the mountains and the chalet needs some work broken tile,ripped furniture etc. Its nice for r multiple families because there are 4 master suites that are identical. The price was high in my opinion.

Thanks for the review. We will check with the homeowner about the repairs. The picture of the view on the website is in winter with the leaves off the trees and it says in the description that the view is Winter Only. We regret if your impression was otherwise. That tree line is inside the national park and we are unable to improve the view, but the privacy of the home, being on the park boundary, is the trade off, plus the bears are your neighbors.

It sits up high in the sky makes you feel like you are at the highest point of the mountains and after driving it I am pretty sure u are!!

Thank you for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Amazing Grace. The four king bedrooms with en suites are great for big families or a group of 4 couples. No sharing and everybody gets the same size space. We hope to see you in the mountains again soon.

4 Nights at the Top of the Mountain

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property was very nice. but a little dated. It is located at the TOP of the mountain. Due to covid we could not exchange towels or get additional supplies, so we expected more than 1 roll of paper towels and 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom. Plus since we had to wash their towels, we expected some laundry supplies. Both Microwave and Dishwasher had problems. Seeing the Bears on the porch daily was a plus. Mother and Baby put on a show for us and the Male tried to crawl into one of our cars. Don't leave the windows down.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Amazing Grace. It does seem to be at the top of the mountain and it is on the National Park boundary, home of the bears. We have tried to communicate what is supplied in the cabins as far as supplies through emails, but perhaps you missed that email. Our office remains closed to everyone other than staff due to COVID. Therefore, we are not able to exchange towels or replace paper products. The things that you need to bring with you (even during normal times), are listed on the confirmation and includes laundry detergent. Regardless, we regret if you experienced any inconvenience. We are unaware of any issues with the microwave or dishwasher, but will check them out. Seeing the bears is always a thrill, but you are absolutely right about Locking Your Car Doors! We hope you are able to visit us again soon.
