Perfect location

Perfect location. Close to town but Out of town enough to enjoy some quiet time after a busy day. Loved all the decks off the house and the hot tub!! Beds were very comfortable. The kids loved the pool table. Would stay here again!! Amazing place

Early Dawn review

Wonderful experience. Great house. We counted 23 bears during the week we were here. They are definitely prolific. Would rent this spot again in a heartbeat.

Enchanting!

This property was everything and more!! You feel in the woods while just being a short distance from Gatlingburg strip. This cabin was amazing, clean and worth every penny! Oh and bears!!!

Fabulous house!

We stayed here summer 2021 so I am late writing this review. This house is great. Lots of stairs so if that is an issue, be aware. We loved the view on all the levels. Upper loft bedroom was great for us and our teens stayed in the bedroom and family room area on the lower level. Hot tub was great. We did have two issues, but the company came out to fix it within an hour. It is a steep hill to get to the house and while you could walk to town I don’t think I would. Wasn’t an issue for us, but If you are a nervous driver be aware. The best part were the bears! We saw several right through the window. We kept our distance, but really be mindful of the trash. The folks across the street didn’t secure their trash so the bears were having a feast. Kitchen was well appointed and we did eat several meals in the house. I’d def stay here again. It was nice being a little away from all the traffic of downtown.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed the area, the home was spacious and pretty views. We had to ask for the front door handle and upstairs shower drain to be fixed on day one; response for repair was quick and efficient. House wasn't as clean as expected and needs more and newer basic kitchen supplies (more cooking utensils, clean pans with no rust, salt and pepper). Outdoor grill was a bonus but not clean from previous uses. Pillows on couch were dirty, some kitchen utensils were dirty or rusty, toilet bowls and patio windows weren't clean. Good balcony views and location, just needs better cleaning service. Want to rate this a two-star, but rating won't accept less than three stars for cleanliness. Upper level has no window coverings; makes for early mornings of sunshine and minimal privacy at night among the treetops. Our two college boys loved the basement bathroom & bedroom, hot tub and recreation space on lower level. Had hard time locating the club pools and local market--needs better road signage and communication.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Early Dawn is a beautiful mountain chalet. We had everything we needed to feel comfortable and it was a great central location to activities in Gatlinburg and in Pigeon Forge. The kitchen was fully stocked with essentials for doing some cooking to save on expensive dining options in town. The house has a balcony on every level. The mountains can be viewed from the top floor balcony and is mostly obscured by tree foliage, but still visible. Our young adult/teen-aged children enjoyed using the pool table on the bottom floor of the house. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Smart TVs made it easy to access our streaming accounts with Apple AirPlay and a smart speaker made it easy to play music from our own devices. Almost all of the comforts of home, the owner made it truly a home-away-from-home situation. Travel up to the chalet from town is a bit difficult if you are not used to driving on tiny mountain roads and we arrived at 11pm when those roads were very dark. 4 wheel drive vehicle is extremely helpful as the tiny roads are very steep and there are a few hairpin turns and some are cliff-side. Locals do it like it’s nothing! Haha! Thanks for hosting us, Early Dawn. We hope to visit again soon. Love from East Texas!

Great chalet for two couples traveling together

All had a wonderful time in Gatlinburg and the Glades. One thing that really facilitated our stay was each bedroom was on a seperate floor. So the early risers could enjoy their morning while the late risers slept undisturbed. The seperate thermostats for each bedroom was another plus. Early Dawn truly is a nice place to relax and retreat from town.

Holiday Get-Away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Early Dawn was a great cabin for us to stay for a quick get-away right after Christmas! It is quite spacious, but would recommend adding a sofa bed to either the pool table room or living room, as this would easily accommodate 6 people instead of just 4! We came with our younger son and his wife, and if our older son had been able to come, we would have been too large a party to stay here. There is dining for 8 and a huge, if minimalist, living room. Just needs a beautiful mountain picture above the mantle! There is a bathroom on each floor, which is great since there are three floors. As it is winter, there were great views from the main (second) floor and top (third) floor- that you may not get as much of when foliage is back. It does take steps to get everywhere, so this is probably not a good choice for those with limited physical ability. Even the main level takes steps to get to, and there is not a bedroom on the main level- as one bedroom is upstairs on the third floor and one is downstairs on the first floor, alongside the pool table room. This is a great space for two couples since the rooms are so separated and private, though a t.v. in downstairs bedroom might be wanted by some. This is also great for families with teens or as in our case young adult children. (Not as great with young children with all the stairs.) It would be perfect if it had the addition of a sleeper sofa so our other son could stay here too if we get to come back- which we hope we do! Our son that came said this was one of his favorite cabins in all that we have stayed in- and we have stayed in a lot over the years! We would highly recommend Early Dawn! We love to stay at cabins and chalets with Mt. Laurel, and this was again a great experience. My only disappointment was that they did not decorate for the holidays as I had expected they would have. (We have had decorated cabins the other places we have stayed in Dec.) But otherwise, we loved it here!

Only thing we disliked was the upstairs bedroom windows had no curtains or blinds. I’m on vacation I want to sleep in lol. Was woke up early in morning Bc of light. Would be nice to have a choice. And we would have slept downstairs but it didn’t have a tv in bedroom. I like watching tv when I go to bed. If those things get fixed we would come back to this chalet. We like how it didn’t have a long drive from gatlinburg. But in all it was a very nice chalet

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Great potential

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was great but needs a few touches to make it a place to want to.come back to year and year for us. We loved the area and are already looking at rentals for next year. We loved this chalet but the view wasn't as good as shown in the photos. A lot more tree growth, could barely see mountains from top floor.....really big bummer because thats the main thing we wanted to enjoy. We really wanted to be able to sit on the deck and have our morning coffee and just look at the mountains. Other let down was matresses are very uncomfortable, we all thought about just sleeping on the couches. Only other thing would recommend is a hair dryer for use and hand soap and lotion. If these few things had been better this would have been our yearly rental, was great bear sighting spot, close to an amazing town. Beautiful chalet

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Early Dawn. We try to set expectations about views with pictures on the website that reflect what you should expect. Unfortunately, there are other property owners between Early Dawn and the view, so we are not able to cut trees to open the view any more than it already is. Also keep in mind that the view improves in winter when the leaves are off the trees and some of our pictures are taken during the winter. Both mattresses were replaced in July 2021. I am almost positive there are hair dryers in each bathrom now, but if now, always feel free to ask at the office. We have always given out small bars of hand soap and have just recently started giving our small bottles of lotion. We hope you will come again soon.
