Adjacent to the pool is an incredible outdoor patio, thoughtfully designed with lush perennial landscaping and a large dining table—ideal for al fresco meals, morning coffee, or evening cocktails under the stars.
All around the property you'll find extensive landscaping that flourishes and grows more breathtaking with each passing year. Mature walnut, cherry, oak, and locust trees frame the property, and vibrant perennial gardens filled with lilies, daisies, peonies, Black-eyed Susans, spring daffodils and tulips, and more add seasonal bursts of color. In late summer, help yourself to the fruit from the concord grape vines, blueberry bushes, and the fig tree. Deer, turkeys, hummingbirds, and owls often make appearances.
The home's environmental impact is minimized by an energy-efficient geothermal heating and cooling system. Water for the home comes from an artesian spring.
Living Room: Step into the stunning living room, just off the foyer, where a baby grand player piano beneath a glittering crystal chandelier sets the tone. Original paintings and a wood stove fireplace add to the ambiance. A large sectional provides ample seating for relaxation, and an optional king-size air mattress is available for larger groups. This is a stunning entertaining space!
Kitchen: The kitchen seamlessly marries modern design with historic stone walls and original Amish-made cabinetry. It comes fully equipped to meet your culinary needs, and you can savor your morning coffee in comfortable armchairs flanking an antique storage cabinet.
Dining Room: The dining room features a dazzling crystal chandelier from Arhaus. Adjacent to it, a butler's pantry provides ample storage and a brand-new full bathroom with laundry facilities.
Primary Bedroom and Bathroom: Ascend the back staircase to discover a private wing housing the primary suite. It boasts a king-size leather bed, a Roku TV, and a brand-new ensuite bathroom adorned with Carrera marble tiles.

Fun family get-away with character
This historic home was instantly comfortable and a great place for a family get together. The owners did a beautiful job of paying homage to the history of this stone house while updating with modern amenities. All bathrooms are updated, good wifi, washer and dryer, cam lighting, even usb charging stations in the bedrooms. There is a nice coffee station in the butler's pantry and the kitchen is well outfitted if you want to do your own cooking. The house is clean and the rooms are light filled. Nice space outdoors with a large side yard, fire pit, split wood and plenty of chairs.
It does have it's quirks - like one of the original stairways which requires some physical dexterity to use and can be a bit challenging to get up to one of the bedrooms. Once there however, it is worth the trip.
If you appreciate historic homes, you will love this place. The owner's provide a quite extensive electronic property booklet/app which includes links to local restaurants and sights. Very helpful. They were friendly and quick to respond to any additional questions. Hope to visit again sometime!

Acerca de su propietario/a
Propietario/a: Leigh Profit
We are your Perennial Stays hosts, Leigh & Corey. We live in Baltimore City and have been married since 2010.
By day, Corey is an engineer, and Leigh is an accountant. In 2015, at the recommendation of some friends, we decided to earn a little extra money by renting out our primary residence in Baltimore while we traveled. We enjoyed it so much, we decided to branch out to our first property in West Virginia. In 2018 we purchased our second property in West Virginia – the farmhouse! Finally, in 2021 we decided to expand to beautiful Lancaster, PA – coming soon!
Leigh loves the design, hospitality, and marketing aspects, while Corey enjoys hunting for houses, renovations, and operations. A perfect match!
We look forward to hosting your getaway.
