Perfect for us

The house was nice. Smelled a little musty but ive found most houses at the beach smell this way. It was right across the street from the beach access. Very very convient. The bedrooms were great. The master bed was ok. We really enjoyed the house. The kitchen was very well equipped.

Decent Property

Lower deck railing needs sanding and finishing. I personally removed 4 splinters from my hand. First place that we have ever stayed that the air conditioning kept the house very comfortable.

Home away from home!

This was our second time staying in this home! Clearly we loved it enough to go back! It is about as close to the beach as you can get for second row. This was super convenient for trips back and forth. The only reason I didn't give the property 5 stars is that the screens are largely missing from the sliding doors, the mattresses could be a bit firmer, and we had a little trouble with the electric stove. All in all it's a great house in a great location. Would stay there again!

This was a great location. Beach access across the street. Beautiful views from both decks. Kitchen had everything we needed. We would stay again.

Another great stay

This is our second year renting this property and it was just as good as the last one. Proximity to beach access is right across the street making it very easy to come and go as you want. House was clean, well stocked, and very reasonably priced. See u next year!!

Wonderful Vacation Home

We had a wonderful time vacationing in this home. It was great that it is directly across from a beach access point. The house was clean and had all the kitchen items needed to cook for a family. The property management was very responsive to all my questions. We would rent this home again in the future.

Great for a Family, Great Location

The property was just as advertised. We appreciated the spaciousness, the nice carpeting, the double decks with ocean views, the well-stocked kitchen... the beach access is unbeatable- right across the street, and the garage had plenty of beach toys and boogie boards which the kids appreciated. We only had two complaints: The baseboards and door frames were dirty and dusty and could’ve used a good scrub, but everything else seemed clean. Also, the doorknob to the main door was falling off when we arrived. Luckily my husband had a screwdriver and did a quick fix. No big deal. Beds were comfortable. Extra blankets were available and there were ample pillows. Would stay again. Overall rating: 4.7

Pleased overall

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The house is in a great location and had plenty of space. There were some issues that were not easy to overlook, however. First, the doorknob to the main entrance of the house is very loose. I almost broke the key off in the door trying to get it to unlock because it’s partially falling out and rusted. The house had not been cleaned well. One of the showers had long, black hair everywhere and the same hair was throughout the house in the carpet which had not been vacuumed. I have a toddler and it was disgusting to pick up his pacifier or cup and find someone else’s hair stuck to them. The walls are very dirty and there is thick dust around the baseboards. There were a few sightings of roaches in the tubs, which also have molded shower curtains and several of the comforters had dirty spots on them. There were empty water bottles left in one of the rooms, which we had to clean up. After finding the water bottles and hair a few minutes after arriving, we wiped down every surface and vacuumed as we knew then the house had probably not been cleaned well. All of these things, though annoying, did not prevent us from having a great time.

Overall painless experience

Check in was great we actually arrived an hour early and they were able to accommodate us. The house was well stocked and the beach amenities were such a great perk. A few small cosmetic issues with the house (torn screens, water damage in ceiling on top floor) but we expect some things especially this late in the season. Would definatly stay at this property again.

Great little Beach house

A cute house for a great beach getaway. The house is a little out dated when it comes to appliances and TV's. But overall a great experience and very close to downtown Surf City and right across the road from the beach access.

Very nice week!

We had a wonderful week at this house! It was very roomy & right across from the beach access! The only thing I would say negatively, and only because I would want to know if it was my property, is that we were turned off by how dirty the walls were! The bathroom walls, and the shower curtains, and the walls going up the stairs were in need of a washing! Also, just as a suggestion, maybe a nice table and chairs set on one of the very nice decks! It was a truly wonderful week, & we will definitely return!

Double Master, New Carpets, Beach Access

The property was recently updated with a new deck and stairs, new carpeting throughout. We had my parents stay with us and I was so thankful for a master bedroom on the first floor (up a single flight, over the garage) for them and another master upstairs with the living area and kitchen for my husband and I. Our teenagers enjoyed having their own rooms too. The house was mostly clean and I would have given 5 stars but we did see three roaches in the kitchen on the very last day there but hadn’t seen any all week before then. They were coming out around the dishwasher. The dishwasher could use a good cleaning from probably non use while the updates were being made. Honestly, the house was tidy and seemed clean especially with the new carpeting throughout. Maybe have some regular extermination done just to be sure it wasn’t a fluke. We were asked to provide any feedback for improvements to the property for the owner and rental company and we had to really get nit picky to find anything bad to say. We truly enjoyed our stay! Thanks for a wonderful week!

Great location but house needs some work

Location of this house is great. Right across the street from the beach. We literally walked barefoot to the ocean every day. The house is laid out well and was more than big enough for our large family. The house needs some attention. The carpets should have been replaced a long time ago. The house felt damp all week, like it needed a dehumidifier in addition to the air conditioning. The house had bare bones furniture and bedding and several of the mini blinds and window screens were broken or ripped. There are a few nails that need to be hammered in on the decks and stairs. There was mildew on the house and rust on the garage doors. It could be a premium rental property with a little money and a little elbow grease.

Delightful

Perfect size and location for a family of four with two young kids. Great living space and clean bathrooms and kitchen. Carpet could use a good cleaning or replacement and some dusting wouldn’t hurt, but all in all very nice. Great decks for relaxing and watching the ocean. Very happy with our stay!

Overall accommodations were good. Sliding doors into bedrooms off deck did not have screens, nor functioning locks. A small piece of wood was placed in the track of one. . The garbage disposal didn't work. The large garbage bin was nearly full outside upon arrival. TVs in bedrooms out of service (no great loss while on vacation, but not disclosed.) No cleaning supplies to include a basic broom for kitchen floor. All that said, we would likely return, but would cover these basic needs when packing.
