Hermosa cabaña de madera justo en la playa! Disfrute de espectaculares amaneceres y puestas de sol en el agua. ¡Tome su café de la mañana con los dedos de los pies sobre la arena y las hermosas vistas de las islas de Vieques y Luis Peña! La casa se encuentra justo al lado de la Reserva Biológica Marina. ¡El mejor snorkeling en Culebra justo en la puerta de tu casa! Sólo a unos 10 minutos a pie de la ciudad!

Aire acondicionado. Cuenta con 2 habitaciones con camas queen size, 1 habitación con 2 literas dobles. Bonito balcón en forma de L con vistas a la playa. La cocina y el baño se encuentran en la planta baja a lo largo de una amplia terraza abierta donde se puede descansar en las numerosas hamacas disponibles para dormitar toda la tarde.

Dos duchas disponibles (1 agua caliente, 1 ducha exterior). Cottage viene con ropa de cama, toallas regulares (lo siento no toallas de playa!), utensilios de cocina, micro, licuadora, cofres de hielo, tumbonas en la playa, hamacas. Se pueden alquilar 2 kayaks oceánicos dobles y 1 paddleboard bajo petición. ¡El propietario estará más que feliz de recibirlo y darle la bienvenida a su casa y de hacer de su estancia una experiencia inolvidable! Sabemos que volverá a nuestra hermosa escapada escondida!

Idoneidad: NO FUMAR en las instalaciones, perfecto para una familia grande, dos familias pequeñas o 2-3 parejas que buscan una escapada de aventura, ¡NO SE ADMITEN MASCOTAS!

The location and the private beach were incredible. Very private and the outdoor kitchen/living area was very pleasant to use -- wonderful place to hang out. It's a special place. The only thing to be aware of is that you must go on outside stairs to reach the one bathroom from the bedrooms, so it might not work for all groups.

Location is fantastic, can't beat waking up to the sound of the waves and relaxing in the hammocks at night. Wonderful snorkeling on secluded beach, comfy beds, all the basic needs, and host is fantastic. We would definitely stay here again, a special place!

This rustic two-story beach cabin is 20 steps to a narrow white sand beach with endless views of the ocean. You’ll be the only humans on this stretch of sand. It’s out of town but not remote. Jeep rental is recommended. The ground floor is all open air and comprises of a basic kitchen set up, dining table, several hammocks, and a small three-piece bathroom. There’s also a cold water outdoor shower (felt so good with the humidity). Steps are nicely lit at night. The second floor has an urge wrap-around deck, and four rooms. Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own window AC unit. Tulio provides a wide variety of beach related gear but bring your own beach towels. The property is teeming with wildlife: crabs, lizards, chickens, cats, cranes, neighborhood dogs, and even a nurse shark. Due to a very wet Spring, there were also there were also an uncontrollable number of mosquitoes. Prepare accordingly. We felt safe on the property. Tulio, the host, is great! He’s easy to talk to, bilingual, funny, and VERY informative. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have the right information you need to have a great time on Culebra.

Wish we could have stayed longer !

What an amazing location, private beach, close to everything but still feel secluded. You can hear the waves while rocking on the hammocks. Very relaxing, clean with adequate space. And our daily visit from a tall bird lol

Little slice of heaven!

We will be back!! The beauty and serenity we found at Tulio's place was exactly what we were in search of. Living so close to nature whilst safe & secure in the comfort of the yellow beach house. My husband took no part in the planning.....it was all on me. He was elated with the results. We explored the island… We bashed in the privacy of our own little beach. We can't thank you enough. I highly recommend.!

Dreamy location

To begin with, the host Tolio is excellent to work with. He met us when we arrived and gave us the run down. Our stay went without a glitch. The house is amazing and exactly as advertised. You share the property with geckos, iguanas, deer, hermit crabs, chickens and of course a few pesky bugs, but they weren’t too bad. The absolute best part of this place is the beach. We snorkeled right in front of the house. If you walk to the right on the beach there is a calm area to swim and Melones Beach which has great snorkeling. We walked to town from the beach. Very private area. We spent hours in hammocks. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Our two favorite restaurants were Mamacitis and Heathers. The sandwiches at the bakery were amazing. We rented a Jeep but hardly used it. Other than our private beach, our favorites were Flamenco and Tamarindo(best snorkeling). This house is truly a gem and the island felt like paradise. We will be back.

Beautiful stay

This is the second time we've come to stay at this property, the location right by the beach is wonderful & the outdoor kitchen/hammock space makes it where you never really have to hang out inside (unless you want to). Home is secluded enough for privacy but still a few minutes walk from food, grocery, rentals, etc. Would recommend!

We had the BEST time ever. The house was exactly as shown. It was perfect for the four of us. Super close to town, and the beach is literally right there!! Tulio is a fantastic host. He met us at the ferry to make sure we knew where to go. How cool was that?? Highly recommend booking with Tulio. You won’t be sorry!!

A great beach house with snorkeling

We loved the location and eclectic cottage at Melones Beach! As advertised, short walk to one of the best snorkeling spots on the island and 10 minute stroll into town. Host was responsive and helpful and had clear, informative instructions about the property!

Culebra PR Vacation

Tulio Ortiz was an excellent host!!! He made us feel right at home - even met us in town to follow him to find the house faster. He walked us through the home to show us where everything was & how to work everything. Very thorough w/instructions. He helped guide us with referrals on restaurants, photographer & excursions. Side note: We highly recommend Captain Bill Catamaran for your boating excursion. Juan Carlos Garavito Photographer for your amazing family beach pics. This house offers the ultimate outdoor experience: beach front (beautiful sunrises & sunsets), snorkeling, roosters, iguanas, etc. Great place for families to relax together. Tulio provides hanging hammocks, bath & kitchen essentials & beach toys as well. Just a side note for those over 6’ tall - watch your head on lower level! Not a complaint just watching out for others☺️ Overall our family of 4 w/ 2 boys (7 & 12yrs old) absolutely loved this location! We hope to back!! Thank you Tulio for your excellent hospitality and sharing your beautiful place with us!!

Great spot

Really nice location and so peaceful. It’s rustic but with all the necessities we needed. Hot shower, toaster oven, hammocks galore! Our kids were entertained with hermit crabs, chickens, iguanas, and some sweet shy snakes. The beach access and short walk to town for groceries or a meal out was a treat. Good to rent a vehicle (golf cart) to get to further away sandy beaches. Tulio was a text away for any questions and his place was clean and just we wanted in a getaway. Internet is there but we also didn’t use it much! Highly recommended.

Walk to town and Melones Beach

The cabin is rustic but comfortable. The snorkeling at nearby Melones Beach is really spectacular. In the evenings we closed up the upstairs and turned on the air conditioners to keep the bugs out.

Incredible in every way!

This space was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. Traveling with two little kids can be a challenge, but thanks to Tulio’s incredible hospitality, our visit to Culebra was comfortable and easy. Tulio not only provided a pack and play and bug net for our infant, but even came to the house to help set it up and offered for us to bring those with us when we left the house. What a difference this made!! The space was beautiful, check in and out a breeze, and all of it left us wanting to return again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Wonderful Hideaway that's close to everything!

Tulio's place is lovely. Clean and airy. The upstairs has a view to the ocean, which is literally steps away from your home. Tulio was incredibly helpful, with all sorts of great resources. Rent a Jeep if you plan to go to all of the beaches (and you should). Every beach is beautiful and different - same for the snorkeling and rock scrambling. We were there in off season, so not a lot open during the week, but enough restaurants and grocery stores to sustain us. Highly Recommend!

Warning warning terrible property

This property is grossly misrepresented on VRBO The door locks are padlocks on the outside of the doors! The bathroom is downstairs and outside! The owner told us the tile underneath the house is very slick and wet due to it being outside , so if you go out in the dark to the outside bathroom try not to fall !!! Not to mention he is rude ! We told him we were not comfortable staying there , four women , he told us to get our stuff and get out! PLEASE Please don’t fall for this listing! The oven still doesn’t work since reviews 2012! Only one stove top eye worked and you can’t put ice in the freezer because it will thaw! The doors upstairs don’t come close to the floor so snakes bugs etc can come in as they please! This is a big mistake renting this place !!! Terrible start to a girls trip !

LOVE the Yellow House!

First of all, Tulio is great! He went above and beyond to give us recommendations on the area, answer all of our questions and provide good tips for our trip. The Yellow House is unconventional, but that's what makes it so special! It's not every day you head to the kitchen for a cup of coffee and have hermit crabs, iguanas and roosters roaming around your living space. The view was amazing and the breeze on the top deck was so relaxing in the evenings. Everything was clean, the kitchen had all the utensils that we required and the AC in the bedrooms kept us comfortable at night. The area is super safe and just a short golf cart ride away from the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. It was hot in early August and the mosquitoes were active, but that all comes with the territory. Bug spray and citronella candles come in handy. If you're looking for a unique and relaxing vacation spot, this home is for you!

Paradise

This was our 5th trip to Culebra and it has never disappointed us. We usually stay at the flamenco beach villas but this house was so much better. The place all to ourselves. The hammocks, the beach amazing. We relaxed so much. The kids loved seeing the hermit crabs, the little lizards and the iguanas. The parents did too actually lol. Tulio was excellent to work with great communication and even met us early when our flight was changed to an earlier one. We will definitely be back.

Escape to solitude on the beach !

My husband I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House is as described, but so much more. We were alone in this little piece of heaven all week- not one person walked by our beach. Nature all around us- crabs, iguana, gecko, chickens, fish, pelicans etc. Our advice, in order to enjoy it all———- rent a golf cart- we spent days wandering around finding beautiful beaches… all of which were absolutely beautiful and very uncrowded. Don’t be afraid to wander down unmarked dirt roads with your golf cart ( or jeep)… that’s how you find the most beautiful spots. Make reservations at Susie’s, early in your stay- great restaurant!!! Also go early to Dinghy Dock and the taco place. Lots of good restaurants- enjoy them! We also got great snacks from the local roadside trucks. Liquor , beer, groceries, essentials are reasonably priced. Take lots of sunblock and bug spray.( No seeums and mosquitoes are present especially morning and evening) Bring snorkel gear. Enjoy this one of a kind adventure!

I grew up in San Juan but spent all of my Summers, X-mas breaks, Easter vacations, and holiday weekends living in Culebra with my grandparents and family. Joined the USNavy for 5 years at the age of 19. I graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans and after 12 years of living in the US mainland returned to PR. I have three beautiful children.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

My family has lived in Culebra since 1886. Back then, Culebra was pretty much developed as an agricultural project by the Spanish Crown. My great great grandfather came over from Spain and became owner of some land, bought some more, and the rest is history. Sardinera beach II (Melones we call it!) has been owned and loved by my family and friends forever. Come share it with us for a while!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

From the moment you disembark or fly into the island you will fall in love with it. It's hard to describe but, if you ask anyone that has been to Culebra and they will tell you. The moment you get off the main road into the access road you will feel transported into a different world. Pass the tunnel of acacia trees and at the end you will see the yellow house sitting in the sunshine. A nice open area downstairs filled with brightly colored hammocks invites you in! But what really catches you eye and ears is the view and the sound of the ocean right in front of you. Lots of trees run along the beachfront. They provide a nice shade for when the Caribbean sun gets a little too frisky. Pass the trees and on the edge of the water, you'll see the island of Vieques in the distance. The small waves that run along the top of the reef in front of the house come towards you to die at your feet! If it's late in the afternoon you can just have a seat on the sand and enjoy one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see! Make sure you have a 'sundowner' in hand. Want to eat out? Town is just a 8 min walk away. Want to snorkel in the Biological Reserve? Walk 20 steps into the water,
swim to the right, and you are there! Want to go to world famous Flamenco beach, Soni beach, Tamarindo, Carlos Rosario? Take the public transport or better yet, rent a golf cart or 4x4 and go exploring. Want to go to Tortuga beach in the island of Culebrita, or Luis Peña? Want to go diving? We'll arranged it for you! Come on down and enjoy!
