Isleside Retreat is located on a secluded dead-end, just minutes from local Wineries, American Players Theatre, and Taliesin, amid the gorgeous Driftless hills. The lower level is the perfect space to gather, with a cozy fireplace, bar, and plenty of entertainment. Grab a canoe or kayak and explore Lake Avoca, or hike the peaceful Avoca prairie and savannah trails.

Our host was a great communicator and very responsive. The house decor was cute. Our kids appreciated the games in the basement and the record player in the living room. We made several meals and the kitchen was well stocked (except for salt—we never did find the salt). The view of the little lake behind the cabin was beautiful too. We had a comfortable stay, just 30 minutes from House on the Rock and Taliesin.

AndThis was our second visit. Probably without sunshine and ,being indoors the whole time.we noticed bothersome issues we had not noticed the first time we came. Lighting in the kitchen was strobe lights at times. Fireplace would not start up and those instructions were confusing and vague. Bathroom faucets were loose. The bathtub without safety bars was not useful to older visitors. We love the location. Private quiet dead end road is a plus. One other concern is that curtains hang over the heating registers.

We are a group of old friends who come annually to se plays at the American Players Theater and enjoy the beautiful Wisconsin landscape. Kayaking the river in front of the property was beautiful and a special treat.

We were in town for a wedding, and it was a really nice place for all of the family to stay. Enjoyed the deck and dock as well as having a kitchen was nice to cook family meals!

A really fun place to stay for a short getaway with friends and a toddler. We enjoyed the amazing game room, the hammock, the deck, and the view of the lake. The place is decorated super cute and with very comfy and homey bedrooms. The host was easy to reach and great to communicate with. Thank you!

Fantastic house in a very peaceful location. Loved spending time outside on the deck, on the hammock, by the firepit, or on the other comfy outdoor furniture. Kitchen was well stocked, which was helpful for making big family style meals. Tons of games, puzzles, ping pong, and water amenities to enjoy the lake. Easy to get into town for groceries or if you want to check out any local haunts. Hosts were super responsive and house was spotless.

This Avoca home promises to provide you with a fantastic experience! The owners were very warm and friendly and provided all the information we needed to ensure an easy check-in, checkout, and a comfortable stay. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel right at home. Everything feels warm and inviting. The owners have an incredible sense of style and provide every imaginable comfort, paying close attention to detail. The kitchen has everything you’ll need—and more. We cherished every moment there, and the deck with its amazing view quickly became our favorite spot to gather. From enjoying our morning coffee while watching the cranes to sharing laughs in the evening, this home offers it all.The home sits slightly secluded on the water, so the kayaks, paddleboard, and canoes they provide are a must to enhance your visit. This was a great home-away-from-home experience. Thank you!!!

Top notch rental home with all the amenities and entertainment a family or couple could ask for! The house was so clean and the location was perfect. We spent our mornings out on the kayaks and evenings playing games or sitting by a fire. Love this home!

This place was AMAZING! It was clean and spacious. Tons of stuff for thè kids to do like kayaking, ping pong, shuffle board, foosball, and fishing. I messaged the hosts a question about fishing and they responded immediately. Very impressed. We loved everything about it and didnt want to leave!

Quiet getaway

Isleside is at the end of a a nice quiet street with a nice deck and lovely view of the water. We did not get a chance to go out on the water on this trip but appreciated that kayaks were there for our use if we wanted. House was exactly as described and we enjoyed our stay.

Every time I messaged her before we booked and after we checked in she answered so fast! The house is beautiful! The main floor has 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. It also has a deck off the living room. The basement is a big open room with all the games and two futons. There is also another room down there with a queen bed. (this room has no door if that is a deal breaker for you) The basement also has a bathroom with a small shower. The basement walks out to the backyard, which is a great view! If we ever were to go back we would definitely stay here again!!

House on the rock/birthday weekend
