The cabin was very clean and neat. I think calling it a luxury cabin is a real stretch. I guess maybe if you’re used to a bare bones hunting cabin it might seem luxe. It’s fine, just nothing special. The furnishings are low budget and it seems to be appointed specifically to be a rental. There were Asian lady bugs everywhere inside. I think they must get in through the skylights. Bugs in every room. Took in stride as we were on a heavily wooded lot. We arrived around 7pm and it was pitch dark. Although they expected our arrival no lights or clear signage to help us find our way. A fallen tree branch scratched my vehicle as we turned in. The pathway to enter down to the deck is very precarious, even moreso if you’re carrying luggage and provisions. The heat also wasn’t turned up expecting our arrival. It was 59 degrees. Although we had paid for two nights we left bright and early the next morning after finding elsewhere to stay. I will say the surrounding countryside and winding roads are very pretty and it was very quiet and peaceful. I expected more based on the pictures and other reviews. We have stayed at another property in a nearby town that is actually luxe and really set the bar high.

If looking for peace and relaxation this is the cabin to rent. I did meditative yoga surrounded by the sights and sounds of fall. The cabin was nicely designed and I loved all the big sunny windows in the kitchen. A happy comfortable place. The loft was spacious and comfortable.

The cabin was perfect for our stay. Very quiet with the sounds of cows in the background, it was lovely. This cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need. We appreciated that very much, thank you to our hosts.The communication was amazing with our hosts, both were very accomodating and returned our emails with almost immediately. Highly recommend!

This little cabin in the woods was perfect for us to spend the weekend away for our anniversary. It's private & secluded but right off of the road. We brought a laptop and used that to use our streaming services and watch movies (there is a fire TV and DVD player which worked well too). We would be happy to stay there again and again.

An absolutely wonderful experience. The house was beautifully maintained. It is suppled with what you needed to get away and have a great family vacation. We appreciated everything. The owners were easy to work with and genuinely cared about making sure our family made great memories. Enough cannot be said about how wonderful of a time we had. I recommended this place to anyone.

Excellent! Easy access to all the different towns and attractions in the Driftless region, including Effigy Mounds on the Iowa side of the river. Cabin was very comfortable and super clean. Would definitely book here again.

This is a such a great cabin with beautiful lighting and trees. It had everything we needed and was very cozy. I would say that the beds and chairs could maybe have been a little more comfortable, but we tend to sleep on soft to firm beds, so if you prefer firm beds, then these would be perfect. We used a cushion on the chairs in the kitchen, and that was great. Again, such a nice place. We absolutely loved getting to go to the neighboring land to sit by the stream where the cows roamed. That was a fun treat! Huge thank you to our hosts. They were great communicators, efficient and available. We appreciated it! Thanks!

Secluded cabin In rural area with beautiful views

Extremely clean. Enjoyed having campfire down by trout stream. Great natural scenery. Able to hike Castle Rock nearby.

Outstanding Cabin

We've stayed at a number of cabins in SW Wisconsin and this is the best equipped we've seen (kitchen, etc). Plenty of trout fishing streams of all types nearby. Beautiful area of the state with very little traffic this time of year. Great food market (Benders) in Fennimore and wonderful apples, cider, etc nearby. Really enjoyed our stay.

Early fall in the driftless area

This is a great property. Very comfortable, set in the woods in the rolling farm country of the Wisconsin's driftless area. Four of us have an annual reunion and picked this property as it appeared secluded and roomy. It worked out wonderfully.

Little Cabin in the woods!

Great hidden gem!

This place was amazing! We loved the peace from being in the woods. No fishes caught, but it was fun casting and enjoying the outdoors by the stream. Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay in the woods - lots of bugs/mosquitos especially given rain amounts. Wish some paths near home were more cleared so we could have used bug spray and enjoyed the area a bit more. Lovely home, good communication with helpful owners and great little gem in the woods.

Cute cabin

This property was well out of town and perfect for a quiet getaway. Lots of things to do and see within a half hour to 45 minute drive. It was a little tight for a family of 7, but we made it work and the beds were super comfortable. We almost caught some fish too. Very cute place and well maintained.

Nice return trip

Our second stay at the cabin. Nice to get a contrast from a prior fall stay vs late spring/early summer. Creeks were high from all the recent rain so fishing was tough, but the cabin was still great. We explored a little more of the surrounding area and enjoyed a number of fun activities.

Tranquility

We really enjoyed our stand the property house had everything that we needed and More. Very clean accommodations. Close proximity toMuscoda where we went to the mushroom festival and a beautiful winery to listen to live music and eat wood fired pizzas. Kids had fun hiking down by the river. Great porch to listen to the wildlife and hear the cows!

The Driftless Area (an unglaciated corner of Southwest WI reminiscent of Upstate New York) is known for its scenic, wooded valleys, spring fed streams and rocky hilltops. It is a unique part of the country -- very different than much of the midwest -- and for those in the know, a special place to get away without having to go too far.

Our cabin was purchased unfinished and in some disrepair in 2009. Thanks to my architect wife's keen eye, some elbow grease and a desire to create something special we remodeled our cabin into the luxurious hideaway we have today. We enjoy sharing our little slice of heaven with others who appreciate the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the finer things in life. This is not a rustic cabin. While it is certainly off the beaten path, it is also modern, well-kept and luxuriously appointed. We appreciate guests who treat our cabin as their own home and have been very pleased to find that nearly all of our guests do so.
