The 5 Star Casita is a Beautiful Secluded Property in Taos NM

The 5 Star Casita is an elegant, authentic adobe structure attached to the main house on five acres, surrounded by junipers and native grasses, nestled in Taos Canyon on the scenic Enchanted Circle drive - yet only 5 miles from historic Taos Plaza. Truly a four-season experience, with vibrant spring and summer gardens and golden autumn cottonwoods. The 5-acre property has a private trail culminating in a canyon-view bench before it joins the national forest. A rustic bridge crosses the Rio Fernando. A 1/3-acre pond reflects the landscape. Many guests are now staying longer in Taos and wish to work from "home". We have reliable internet and there is a collapsible computer desk in the Casita. The location is 18 miles to Angel Fire and 24 miles to Taos Ski Valley and is very convenient to hiking, biking, and all the shopping, dining and culture Taos has to offer. There is covered parking and garage next to the Casita entrance. Radiant and wall heated. Saltillo and Italian stone tile flooring and a large wood burning kiva in the living room. Washer/dryer, iron and ironing board are on the premises. Thick adobe walls, trees, and cross ventilation keep it naturally cool in summer.
Roku TV wireless internet. Fenced-in, private, separate dog yard (shady, sheltered and fairly escape proof for the pooch!) Towels and hair dryer provided. Navajo weaving and other art works. Coved dining area with 4 chairs in the Casita. Ceiling fan, floor fan and space heater for extra comfort.
Beautifully decorated and furnished. A well-designed floor plan.
The guest 5 Star Casita can sleep 4 with a king bedroom and living room which contain a full and twin sofa bed and has a bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

We had a wonderful stay at the 5 Star Casita. It was cozy but plenty of room for the two of us and our pup. The Casita is very private and although attached to a larger home, We never saw anyone else. The pond was wonderful to take morning and evening walks around. Taos square was only a 10ish minute drive down the beautiful valley. Five Star Casita was perfect for us and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful time at the 5 Star Casita

The property was beautiful and provided a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Everything needed was provided. A nice retreat with easy access to Taos and the surrounding community.

The property is beautiful, peaceful and serene. It’s a great location which offers a peaceful relaxing respite. Kitchen was so well stocked. The inside adobe walls are gorgeous and it’s well decorated. There’s pride in ownership, as there should be. The property owner is on site, very communicative, kind and ready to offer help if needed. Great place to stay.

The Casitas was warm, clean and inviting away from the city and town. However, it was still within reach of everything we wanted to see and do. Th Owner was very nice and kind and accommodating. We highly recommend this Casitas in traveling to Taos and need a good quiet getaway.

Perfect get away

Such a beautiful property. Perfect for us with our dogs. Plenty of room for them to stretch there legs and on promises hiking trail is wonderful. Has all the amenities needed and is only 4 minutes to several hiking trails and 10 minutes to most restaurants in Taos. Will for sure stay there again.

Taos Peaceful Getaway

The actual place is better than the photos. Short drive into town Place is surrounded by trees. Nice patio to sit outside and enjoy the hummingbirds, flowers, and water feature. Great stay for a family with 2 kids, if we visit again would love to stay again. Great communication from the hosts!

A Perfectly Placed Oasis

Reviewer Comments: After years of either staying in Taos proper or on Blueberry Hill, we chose the 5-Star Casita on the other side of Taos, heading toward Enchanted Circle. Only 5 miles from the Plaza, the property was super-convenient and tucked in an idyllic setting - pond, ducks, trees, a trail up the hillside, a wonderful table to sit outside or on the water. This was the perfect place for the two of us - from a king bed to a very comfortable living & dining area. The owners were in residence, but we only saw them once for a very nice conversation - lovely people. We were within a few miles of some of the best mountain trails so morning and afternoon hikes were easy to get to. It was relaxing not to be in the much busier center of town, nor the heat of the desert. We would stay here again.

Our stay.

The casita was perfect in every way. The grounds were well manicured with beautiful flowers and a pond in the backyard was the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the cool weather. The kitchen was spotless and was well furnished with all items for cooking. The furnishings inside were well maintained and very comfortable to relax in after exploring the town. The host and hostess made us feel like family during our stay. We highly recommend this casita, and we will return. Thank you!

Beautiful surroundings, garden, pond -- picturesque, relaxing, & serene. Cozy, tastefully decorated casita with good lighting & ample space for two people. Exceptionally courteous & helpful owners next door. Well-stocked, generous kitchen with pancake mix, spices, tupperware, utensils, pots, pans, tin foil, bakeware, chopping board, knife block. No A/C; thus warm on hot days, but cools down nicely in the evenings with open windows. No dishwasher, but washer, dryer, & detergent available in main garage. Drinkable well water. Shaded carport, safe neighborhood with nearby hiking trails; conveniently located on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. No movie/streaming services, but local channels available. Fairly clean with the exception of dog hair on both sofas, which dip in the middle. Comfortable king mattress in bedroom; springs readily felt on both pull-out sofa beds with sagging of support wires. Bottom of inner shower curtain stained from pink mold, but plenty of towels, shampoo/conditioner, sunblock, hairdryer. Plenty of amenities: portable fan, iron & ironing board, laundry basket, extra sheets & pillows, ceiling fan in bedroom. Spacious fenced-in dog room about 50 ft away & not visible from casita, has some overgrown weeds, but shaded & well-protected. We readily recommend this lovely casita for its relaxing & pristine property, remarkable friendly & gracious owners, helpful & responsive manager, & ten-minute drive from the main town. Thank you kindly!!

We enjoyed morning tea looking out over the pond, trees and the quiet setting. It was a quick 10-15 min into town when we needed to go. The pottery and other art around the home fit right into the Taos vibe. Must stay if you're heading to Taos to get the most out of the beautiful region.

We loved this place! The Casita is attached to the host’s house but we felt total privacy the entire eleven days we stayed here. The setting is beautiful and we loved sitting on our private patio in the afternoons. Only 5 miles from central Taos on Highway 64 with Angel Fire to the east we loved access to so much this area of New Mexico has to offer. It should be advertised as the “6 Star Casita”. Thank you Linda and Donn!! We’ll see you again!
