Great time

Great condo in a beautiful location. Close to everything we could squeeze in for 7 days. Lots of shells and even saw a sea turtle swimming near us. Looking forward to next year.

Great community.

Loved the setting. Good view of architecture and pool with gulf backdrop. Cozy veranda for coffee...relaxing. One issue was the disturbingly loud noise of all the A/C condensers. Resounded loudly in the courtyard. But, great stay, otherwise!

Roaches from start to finish during a six day stay. Condo needs a lot of maintenance. Appliances broken. Balcony door won’t close. Master shower plumbing clogged. Management company Alecia Hollis nonresponsive.

The condo was really nice only thing they should had curtains in the small room because the light thats on the building is very bright. And should get better sliding doors for the living room. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was very roomy and bright especially the living room area. It is an older condo but it was clean. There was a keurig, regular coffee pot, toaster oven, toaster, and microwave provided which was nice. The location to the beach is great! You only have a short walk down sidewalk and boardwalk to be directly on the beach. Only downside for me was there is no washer and dryer in condo although one is located on the same floor. I would stay here again definitely!

Jennifer we are happy that you enjoyed El Matador unit 329 for your vacation. The unit is quite large and spacey and easy walk out to the beach. Yes, there are no washers in the unit, but, there is one on every floor, and i am glad that you enjoyed it all.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: End unit so it had extra windows. Nicely decorated. The building was one close to the Gulf. Down from the pool so not much extra noise. Very family friendly. Could use some touch ups such as get rid of the old and dirty popcorn ceiling, needs new paint (lots of scruff marks on the walls), needs caulk around tub/shower. Only one frying pan. You need to bring extra toilet paper, paper towels, soap. Chair and umbrella rentals are $45 per day. You need to reserve BEFORE you get there. Give yourself extra time to get around town; traffic is very congested. Located about 2.5 miles from a grocery store.

Dirty Condo / Great Location

Very turned off on the cleanliness of the condo beyond countertops and floors. Within 30 minutes of arriving we noticed a quarter inch of dust on the ceiling fan blades and once you see something like that, we naturally started keeping an eye out. Condo had areas of drywall repair without paint, large thick markings on the walls in the kitchen area, caked grease and dirt on the white ceiling - just repaint the property. Two full mattress bed frames extremely old and wobblily. Afraid to turn in bed and break whatever thread the whole thing was hanging on. Doors need WD-40, extremely loud creaking which was frustrating with a 8 month old baby we didnt want to wake up but needed to check on. Overall, property needs a lot of updating. Kitchen appliances were good and they had what we needed for cooking family scale dinners. The Condo Complex was great and the beach location was great. Very short walk to the boardwalk and condo is the furthest property on the shoreline, so you dont really get people from other condos infringing on your beach carveout. Will not stay at this condo again, but will 100% stay at the Matador again.

Reviewer Comments: The el matadore has everything we are looking for in a vacation spot, we have stayed here many times, but it had been about 15 years since previous stays. As far as the complex itself it was just as we remembered it and is very well kept. The unit itself was clean and in decent shape, but the main slider had deteriorated to a point that most of the kids and women could not open, nor close it! I myself had to lift and fight to open and close it, while maintance was quick to arrive after I called the office it was not fixed before our stay was over. It was pretty frustrating for anyone wanting to go out on the balcony, and as you can imagine that went on throughout the day and at nite with people on different sleeping schedules, they either had to go tthrough our bedroom, or fight the main slider and the additional noise. We also were cooking and had some smoke forming in the unit, someone opened a side window for a few minutes, then we couldn’t get it shut, spent 20 to 30 minutes on it trying to get it coded, a couple times I thought it was going to fall out.I understand that parts for a slider that age are not readily available, but for the premium we paid for the unit I would expect things like that to be checked to make sure they are in working order.We enjoyed our stay at the el matadore, but this was quite the downer!

Family Vacation 2021

A great location on Ft. Walton with a home like chill vibe on a older property. Condo was old with some updates however wasn’t very clean when we arrived. Then had to go buy items to get it cleaner. Only a broom with no dustpan was provided. No starter items other than toilet paper was provided. The condo needs a deep clean with sanitary procedures there was no smell of Lysol or bleach used in their cleaning between guests. It wasn’t disgusting but disappointing. The beds are a little old and lumpy but we’re fine. Cooking utensils was a plus. Couches were comfy. Needed more areas to hang up towels since a drying rack wasn’t provided. Laundry room has 1 washer and dryer and it’s hot. Lobby area was hot and outdated. However the property is awesome from the pools to the workout room and the beach was perfect. Wouldn’t stay at this condo again but maybe another in the complex.

Nasty, dirty condo. Rust spots, stains on furniture, patio door jammed, water damage spots- it was horrible!! Poor property managed!!!

Family fun!

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. It was a great spot and the water and beach were beautiful. The condo was nice and had everything we needed. Very family oriented. I do wish there was a washer and dryer in the condo but there was on on each floor so that made it more convenient. It was perfect for what we needed. We will definitely be back! lol

Great place for some R&R

This condo was at a great location. Second floor end of the building so no one to our right. Loved that it was at the end of the island so also no other condos to the west low crowds on the beach. Plenty of room for a family of 5. Quick and easy access to the beach. It was quite around us easy to relax. Our family had a blast and will be returning!!

Cleaning supplies should be left clients staying for a month. I stopped at the Alicia office to get a dustpan. No pepper or dish soap when we arrived? Each condo should have recycling containers. Wifi is way to slow owners should invest in higher speed for there guest renting.

This unit had a lot of updates, that back bdrm had brand new mattresses, new kitchen, new furniture, new floor, new comforters and now updating the guest bathroom A very large condo, and a corner unit close to the steps, that gets you downstairs and out to the beach. The condo has had a lot of updates done to it, and everyone has enjoyed the unit, and the property.
