Retiro romántico: esta fantástica ubicación, casa de huéspedes atmosférica fue diseñada por el propietario. ¡Este hogar íntimo es ideal para dos y quizás un canino bien educado! Da un salto y salta por la calle hasta los acantilados de Pleasure Point, donde puedes surfear o ver a los surfistas mientras caminas. Después de su paseo, puede enjuagarse en la ducha al aire libre antes de sumergirse en la bañera de burbujas de madera de cedro. Disfrute de la privacidad, las hojas rizadas del árbol de pimientos y la encantadora música de las campanas de viento. Balancéate en una hamaca mientras te refrescas. Hay una pequeña terraza con jacuzzi y una pequeña área al aire libre frente a la casa cerca del jardín con una fuente burbujeante.

El bungalow cuenta con pisos de azulejos españoles, un romántico loft para dormir con luces de cielo, un escritorio y una estantería hechos a medida, iluminación atmosférica en los atenuadores, muchos libros de poesía y sobre espiritualidad. Very cozy. The place is a small guest house (behind the main house) accessible via the alley. Small cov'd carport leads to a private courtyard with a rustic outdoor shower and tranquil water feature. Inside your greeted with warm decor and size appropriate furnishings. The bed is in the upstairs loft, very comfy but if you're tall it takes some careful maneuvering. The small patio out back has tub-shaped jacuzzi for 2 and it was wonderful. The kitchen is well appointed for the tiny space but a bit on the dark side. Some under counter lighting would go a long way. Also a microwave vs a toaster oven is a personal preference. Oven and stove worked great. Would definitely stay again

A wonderful, romantic home away from home.

This tiny, romantic little hideaway was just perfect for my wife and I to enjoy our honeymoon stay. Sita was very helpful ahead of our check-in and even offered us a discount when there appeared to be an issue with the hot tub. Fortunately everything was in tip top shape when we arrived and the hot tub was just as wonderful as advertised. In addition to this little apartment being just adorable and intimate and everything we had hoped for, the location was BRILLIANT. Sitting just a couple of blocks from the beach and a few blocks from local shopping and restaurants, we never found ourselves lacking in finding a place to go. If you go, definitely look up the restaurant "Margaritaville" (it's NOT the cheesy chain restaurant, it's delicious margaritas and Mexican food) The food was great, but more importantly, the location where it sits is a MUST visit. Awesome boutique shopping and tons of other restaurants sitting just on the water. We didn't discover it until our last day and wished we had sooner. Overall we loved the location and Sita was wonderful as well. We'll definitely think of this little getaway next time we travel to the area!

We had the best time, Sita and Tom are great hosts, their place is perfect and everything was fantastic. Hope we get back there again soon. If you know Santa Cruz at all, this is the kind of place that’s very hard to find. So grateful to them for their hospitality.

Great Getaway

Great little studio! We used the hot tub nightly, and never moved our car, except for a day trip to Moss Landing to kayak and go whale watching. We walked to restaurants on 41st Avenue, and walked to Capitola one of the days. We also spoiled ourselves and our dog with several walks a day to watch surfers and the gorgeous views of the bay. We actually got to know several local dogs and their humans, who we saw again and again. Perfect for us. We will be back!

Truly a romantic retreat

Sita and Tom have created a lovely space for two adults to curl into. Their intelligence and creativity are evident in all the ways they make this small house work easily & elegantly for guests. Furniture, outdoor eating spaces, bbq, and hot tub are delightful, kitchen is well-equipped for simple cooking, bathroom is very nice, and the loft sleeping space (complete with large, flat screen and viewing options) is charming. We are in our early 70's and could navigate the stairs, even during the night, thanks in part to the rails they have built. Sita and Tom are on hand to answer any questions, give any advice. It is a 2-block walk to a lovely pathway right along the rocky beach, where you can sit on benches and watch the surfers (from dawn til dark!), or climb down and sunbath or picnic on the large outcroppings and spits of beach. Very conveniently located to 41st St, where you can get supplies, and near a number of restaurants. Quick drive to Capitola Beach, and easy drive into Santa Cruz, Natural Bridges State Park beach, and beyond. We had a terrific 50th anniversary vacation in this small, simple, welcoming retreat.

Hospitable Hosts

Stayed here for 2 weeks with husband and our little poodle/schnauzer mix fur baby. Very pleased with the cleanliness of the space, cookware, and bedding. The location was amazing- the beach and many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Tom and Sita were readily available and left us some beautiful flowers and thoughtful gifts throughout. We were here for a conference and really only slept here. The Japanese style hot tub was amazing to have and was also well-maintained. The only suggestions for improvement would be to have screens on the windows, as we stayed in August and it was very warm with no A/C and hard to keep the windows open due to bugs coming in. The mattress was very comfortable and we slept like a baby. Keep in mind though that the bed is in a tiny house style loft, so if you are tall or have mobility issues, it may be difficult to maneuver. It is also in the back of the owners’ house, so it’s not completely private, as you have to go to their yard to do laundry and empty trash, but they are very friendly and the space itself has enough privacy to feel comfortable. Love how pet friendly it is- our little guy liked his little cubby area for his bed. For our type of stay, it suited our needs and had a calm energy.

Relaxing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was close to the beach to watch the surfers, coffee shops, pizza and so much more. It was truly very relaxing and peaceful. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay.

Very close proximity to coveted waves breaking on beautiful Santa Cruz beaches. This home is well-appointed, well-stocked and the hosts have clearly thought of every last detail. A perfect beach cottage, complete with an outdoor shower, private outdoor space, and a welcoming hot tub. On the inside, I was impressed by the attention to detail; very helpful guest-guide; eclectic/tasteful lighting/decor; and an intelligent design and use of space. The hosts were very accessible (and very friendly) if you have any questions/concerns. Their pre-arrival instructions, guest-guide, and key-lockbox assure that guests are able to be self-sufficient. For ease/convenience, they were available by—and promptly responsive to—text messaging. The hosts were respectful of space & independence, allowing complete privacy. Although they live in the adjacent property, I never would have known if I’d not specifically reached-out to them. At different times, I’ve either stayed in this property alone, with my girlfriend/partner, or with my brother. For all three instances/situations, this property was ideally sized/arranged, and I/we felt completely comfortable. The property is ideal for solo-travel, romantic getaways, and even a trip with a close friend/relative (only one queen-sized bed). I’ve already rented this property on two separate occasions, and cannot wait for the third.

i’ll be back!

this was my second stay at the romantic retreat, and i will return again and again. Sita is a wonderful hostess, both available and unintrusive. this place has everything you could want! walks on the beach, the hammock before my evening meal, and the hot tub before retiring are very restful. although i travel alone (but with my dog), i find the little loft to be a true retreat. joan - my friend makes the reservation for me.

A Romantic Retreat Indeed

A great getaway place in Santa Cruz/Capitola, perfect for celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Just 2 blocks from the ocean and Pleasure Point! We loved the privacy, the quiet, and the hot tub! Quiet and tucked away! All you need for a quick hit vacation and get away.

Hosts are attentive if needed, but respect the privacy and allow for a pleasant stay! Dog friendly, close to the surf, a nice market and it’s just too easy ;)

My husband and I are retired psychotherapists and I am a meditation coach. We love traveling around the Pacific Northwest in our van. We also love nature, hiking and our doggies. We are interested in spirituality and meditation. Our Romantic Retreat is very conducive to meditation. Our gardens are beautiful, and we love our cedar hot tub. The sleeping loft is cozy and romantic and we can hear the ocean. We also love that we can walk to the beach, and to restaurants and cafes.

We love Santa Cruz, the ocean and beaches, the small town feel and the friendliness! We also love the health oriented restaurants, the accessibility of great hiking and yoga classes. We especially love this neighborhood because we can walk to the beach and to cafes and restaurants.

15 Minute drive to Downtown Santa Cruz, 10 minute drive to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. A fifteen minute drive to Nicene Marks State Park for wonderful hiking. And walking distance to the beach. It's at the corner and you can walk along it during low tides. There is also a market cafe just a block and a half away where you can get your food and sit overlooking the ocean to eat it.
