Tucked beneath swaying palms and just steps from the gentle turquoise waters of Anini Beach, this enchanting one-bedroom cottage is pure island charm. With its vintage flair and dreamy, movie-set vibes, it’s the perfect hideaway for romantic retreats, solo escapes, or anyone seeking a little magic by the sea. Wake up to ocean breezes, stroll the quiet shoreline, and fall asleep to the sound of waves—this is Hawai‘i at its most heart-stealing. Anini Beach’s protected waters are great for kayaking, stand up paddling, and snorkeling.

We team up with you to protect this beautiful island:
At the Anini Reef Cottage, sustainability is part of the experience. We are committed to reducing single-use plastics and ask each guest to bring a reusable metal water bottle. These can be packed in a checked bag or carried empty through TSA and filled at the airport. During your stay, you’ll enjoy ultra-pure, filtered tap water. And if you enjoy sparkling water, your in-house water bubbler is available to make fresh sparkling water.

While the cottage encourages a slower pace, adventure is never far away. Just a short drive brings you to the best of Kauai’s North Shore, including:
• Hanalei Bay – World-renowned for its crescent beach and charming surf town.

• Na Pali Coast & Ha‘ena State Park – Hike the iconic Kalalau Trail or explore pristine Ke‘e Beach. (Permits required)

A beautiful location with a rustic and peaceful home base. The steps up into the bathroom and bedroom can be a bit tricky if you’re not paying attention. Great spot for hoeymooners and someone who appreciates peace and tranquility.

Property is well cared for and has lots to offer! Property manager communicates promptly and works to make sure your needs are met, they worked with us so that we could use the beach chairs after our checkout time. Would def go back!!!

A Slice of Heaven

It doesn’t get much better than this. We stayed for three nights for our 25th anniversary. The listing and the reviews made me want to rent this property and getting here made me wanna buy it. Your steps from the beach, which, although not private, is as close as it gets to it. The bed is super comfy and we slept great every night. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the front yard area and from the couch in the living area. I can go on and on about the amenities and how great this property is, but you won’t understand until you actually stay here. We will definitely be back. Thank you to Joanne for being a fantastic communicator as well.

excellent location and well equipped home

This was our fist visit to Kauai and the location of this house was terrific on private beach with Kilauea and Hanalei nearby. The king bed was comfortable and we appreciated the full size fridge, the ample towels, washer and dryer, beach chairs, umbrella and bogie boards. The kitchen was well stocked and the high quality blender made making pina coladas a delight. Very cute and would highly recommend.

Exactly what we were hoping for....

Sweet & cozy private-feeling, not-too-precious cottage in a lush rainforest-y microclimate directly across a quiet sandy dead-end road from the beach. [Careful wading ok, not ideal for swimming as there is dangerous rip/two channels to the left of the house) An easy drive into Hanalei -- also super low-key & vibey -- as well as near stunning hiking.

Charming cottage right on a snorkeling-haven beach

Wonderful stay at the charming boat house cottage. Anini beach is quite literally a stones throw away. Comfortable stay for 2 people and was a perfect home base for us to snorkel across the road (so many sea turtles!) and zip off in our car to explore the rest of the North Shore. We wanted to avoid the touristy resort scene and this far exceeded our expectations for a comfortable and unique stay in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Quaint cottage fully-equipped on gorgeous quiet beach

From start to finish, everything was perfect. We were lucky to stay here for three weeks - days of exploring, hiking, helicopters, boating - then the pure joy of coming “home” to our cottage and beach to swim and snorkel. Outdoor hot shower the best! Location on the north shore ideal, groceries and restaurant and weekly farmer’s market nearby. Highly recommend !!!!

Everything we expected and more! The cottage was Like stepping back in time. So many interesting objects to discover. Truely unique! The location was incredible! Quiet and private but just a short drive to everything you need. The beach right out the front door, and the beautiful gardens behind the cottage were spectacular!

Anini Beach Boat House

The property was very clean. It is a charming boat house built in the 1920s (I believe) now converted into a 2-person beachside rental. The VRBO listing accurately describes the details The sailing-themed interior is spot-on. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of staying at the west end of Anini Beach Road and there were just a few other rental home owners and locals who used the beach across from the property (20 feet from front door to the sand). It is a ~20 minute drive to Hanalei for groceries and meals out. The kitchen is stocked to do meals on your own if desired. Mahalo Stephanie.

Cozy, Quaint, Beach Cottage made for the ultimate in relaxation!

If you want a totally relaxing beach experience then check out the Anini Reef Beach Cottage. It is as advertised, a few short steps from the beach, not a lot of other people around and conveniently close to Princeville and Hanalei.The Anini Reef Beach cottage is perfect for two people; fitting in more might be “tight”. The cottage is decorated in a cozy style with lots of fun “nick nacks” placed in various places (look around to find them!). Keeping the windows open allows for the “white noise” of the ocean; the waves will accompany you as you fall asleep. The kitchen is small but very functional with a coffee maker, convection oven, microwave and toaster. Poke around in the cabinets to find dishes, cleaning supplies, etc. The bathroom is well appointed with a stall shower (great water pressure and temp) and a fan to keep the moisture out of the room.The bedroom is located at the back of the cottage and includes a ceiling fan (with a light) as well as an air conditioner. Just off the bedroom is the laundry room with a state of the art washer and dryer which is great to use for towels and bathing suits.The cottage comes equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. You will need to rent your own snorkel gear. Most importantly, prior to arrival, read all the instructions/information sent by the team at Mana Kauai Island Vacations. We worked with Joanne and she provided outstanding customer service.

Heaven on Earth

If you look up the word heaven in the dictionary ... there should be a picture of this house. Absolutely wonderful stay. My daughter and I came for a week....and wanted to stay forever. Its secluded, without being too far away from shopping, dining, and activities. Its about a 10 minute drive to Hanalei, which we went to frequently. The kitchen is amply stocked with supplies, plenty of equipment if you want to cook while there ... which we did a couple of nights. There is an excellent fish market in Hanalei... the freshest fish ever, and sushi rolls to die for. There is also a gas grill which was super clean, and worked easily and perfectly. The house is whistle clean, and just enough space for the 2 of us. There is a "charming" rooster that lives close by that woke us up every morning!! Its just part of the charm of this wonderful home. Oh..and you really can't get closer to the beach, it's right across the street, and we were the ONLY ones on it for the entire week. It offers both full sun and full shade. its super calm on this beach, great snorkeling and swimming. I'm not a strong swimmer, but I felt perfectly safe in the water here. We also loved watching the Kite Surfers who frequent this beach daily. We drove to Poipu Beach one day and did some exploring and shopping, But honestly, we couldn't wait to get back to our little paradise on Anini beach. I've rented around the world, and this gem is in my top 3. Do yourself a favor ... book it NOW.

Amazing cottage on the beach

My wife and I are not resort people. We like a bit more adventure so when we found this cottage, we knew it was perfect. Neat and tidy like a ship’s cabin, it has everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s away from the hotels and resorts but close enough to pop in and grab a bite or run to the store. Oh, and the beach is 20 steps from the front door. Anini beach isn’t crowded and seems to be where the locals come. The beach is protected and always calm. You can do a little snorkeling here, the reef is shallow, but great place for beginners. We can’t say enough about this magical boathouse other than we will be coming back.
