The Blue House, es una bonita cabaña de 4 camas, en su propio jardín privado de 2 acres. La casa ha sido completamente reformada. Tiene fabulosas vistas al mar sobre el Solent occidental con un paseo por el bosque hasta la playa. Ha sido presentado en la revista Coast.
Ubicada en el pueblo de Gurnard, en la Isla de Wight, 'The Blue House' tiene cuatro habitaciones con vista al jardín, una gran sala de estar contemporánea con techo abovedado con un vidrio y hastial de roble que mira directamente al mar y una cubierta envolvente con fabulosas vistas al New Forest y al famoso atardecer.
Todas las habitaciones cuentan con lujosas camas con sábanas de algodón y edredones y almohadas de plumas de ganso y plumas de ganso naturales, el dormitorio principal tiene un gran baño en suite y puertas de vidrio que se abren a la terraza y la romántica vista al mar.
La sala 'grande' tiene una cocina espaciosa y una sala de estar grande con chimenea.
La casa es completamente privada y totalmente aislada, pero a poca distancia de un gran pub y tiendas. El nivel único lo hace ideal para personas con movilidad limitada también.

An absolutely beautiful holiday home in a fantastic position. We enjoyed wonderful walks along the esplanade to Cowes and loved watching the sailing boats from the garden. The beautiful beach at Gurnard is just a couple of minutes walk from the property. The house was very clean and is perfectly set up for a large family. We didn’t want to leave and would definitely recommend.

Easter holidays

We had a lovely stay at The Blue cottage over the Easter Holidays. What a fabulous cottage with amazing views. The little path down to the beach was a huge hit with the kids. We had everything we could have wished for. We had so much fun exploring the Isle of Wight from here. Would definitely come again.

Fantastic Autumnal Break

We had a short break down in the Isle of Wight and found this property at the last minute. It was fantastic in every way. Would love to book it for a whole week during the summer if we can.

Special Place

It has everything you need for a great holiday. Our two families (9 people total) fitted in with lots of space to spread out. Lovely open living space and the garden is wonderful. The walk to the beach was easy (not too sure what people are moaning about!) and fun. Great spot.

Lovely stay, highly recommended!

We have to give Tim the owner a mention because he was so helpful and responsive when there was a problem with the boiler. The property was perfect for us, especially with oldies who don’t do so well with stairs as it is on one level with just 2 small steps internally. It was very warm and cosy, and the beds were comfy. “Excellent bedding!”says Nana. We enjoyed watching the red squirrels and wonderful views.

Excellent location, spacious comfortable house with beautiful garden

Loved the house which accommodated five adults, one toddler and a dog with ease. Garden was perfect for everybody. Path to the beach should be approached with care. There are few houses we have rented where we would wish to return but this is one we would all happily stay in again. Better even than the photographs which is rare.

Summer mini break

We absolutely adored our week at the Blue House. What a fabulous house and garden for a short break with two families. Within walking distance of Cowes (40 mins round cost) which was brilliant to watch the racing during Cowes week. Garden was great for active teenagers, enthusiastic dogs, relaxing adults and for glorious outdoor dining. What a view of sunset over the ocean! Our dog loved the adventurous walk to the beach to the back of the garden while less adventurous adults could easily walk down the road to the beach for the early morning swim. Amazing weather was a bonus.

Lovely relaxed house

We had a lovely week in The Blue House. It has a great layout and is well equipped with very comfortable beds, and lots of indoor and outdoor seating (we were out most of the time as it was over 26 degrees every day - lucky us). Just a short walk to the beach (we couldn't use the path through the trees as it was very overgrown, but you don't need it anyway.) Loved hiring the scooters to get into Cowes. Highly recommend.

The best location in Gurnard Cowes Isle of Wight

I have to say that I was taken aback on arrival at the property! It isn't anywhere near the condition as depicted in the fantastic photos on your site. It could be so much better but will cost a fair amount to redecorate inside and out. Despite this my family all enjoyed Christmas there & I must say the layout is perfect for such an occasion.

Beautiful location but shabby in places.

We had a lovely stay at the Blue House. Communication with owner is excellent. Home is great for a family holiday. However house does have a few issues, the path down to the beach is hazardous, the trampoline is rusty and unsafe for children. The master bathroom flooring needs replacing and many places are stained and old. Despite all this the stay was very good, just not excellent.

The Blue House at Christmas

We arrived , a motley crew, four grandparents, respective son and daughter, two beloved granddaughters and two dogs, not sure what to expect. The whole experience surpassed all our expectations. The house was warm and welcoming and within a couple of hours, the tree was up, we were unpacked and sitting in front of the fire with a glass of wine! The house was so well equipped, kitchen, bedrooms, sitting area. We couldn't praise it highly enough. Lovely walks to the beach, local shops within easy walking distance with welcoming proprietors, local pub overlooking the Solent, easy access to Cowes - everything you could wish for a winter break.

This is definitely a 5-star location and view. The inside was disappointing as the dishwasher only worked intermittently and the TV would only get a signal on about 4 channels. There was an influx of ants and flying ants when we arrived (which can't be helped) and the cleaner arrived to clear it up, but there several dead flies and mosquitoes on the window sills already. Several fittings need attention, the beds are comfortable but the sofas aren't, so the inside I would give 2-stars. Everybody enjoyed it though and it's a fabulous location.

Location is great but villa could have been cleaner.

Good points: spacious, great garden, stunning views, good location. We paid extra for cleaning as we had an extra dog. We were grateful that the owner agreed to let us bring an extra dog, but as we were paying extra we did expect a decent level of cleanliness on arrival. Sadly, not the case. We spoke with the owner who expressed disappointment and said he’d talk with his cleaning company. We still paid the extra for cleaning. The path to the beach is not passable during particular months, which isn’t made clear in the ad. The wooden decking is extremely slippery when wet. The hot water stopped working at the start of the holiday, but the owner explained how to switch to an alternate water heater so hot water was available.

Misleading

No rug for kitchen entry door. Advertised with hot tub. There was no hot tub. Middle bedroom had no window and door to patio would not open. Host never responded to requests. Host charged for broken dish. Have no idea what dish was broken. Refrigerator had no door shelf so that had to lie liquids on side creating multiple spills we had to clean up. Advertised with private beach. Never found private beach trail down hill was at 45 degree incline and so treacherous you could not utilize. When booking listed one child but afterwards there was no record of child.

A happy place to stay

We spent 4 night there and we had a very enjoyable stay! The house felt very cozy and welcoming. The beach nearby is a nice place to go. The house is well furnished and equipped, especially in the kitchen, even for a large family (you will find everything!). There is a large, newer TV and great to spend time watching movies. There is also a large JVC bluetooth player that also we enjoyed. Plenty of beds for a family, including space for our dog. There are multiple hundreds of books if you are into reading and many toys and games. The communication process with the host was very smooth and always got timely response. There is corner shop at walking distance, which was very convenient. There is also a village pub, Portland Inn, at walking distance, and their food was very tasty! There are plenty of space to walk the dog and the area seems to be mainly of dog lovers. There are many places to visit within 30 - 40 min driving distance. Being said that the there are a couple of areas that you would notice. This house doesn't seem new and you can expect some minor issues related to that - like struggling/unable to open/close some doors, kitchen hood not operational, some remotes that may not work, some bulbs that may not be working and so on. We found the house a bit chillier during the day, but upon requesting adjustments, the host made the necessary adjustments. Overall, we were very happy there, the days flew very quickly and we felt like our own home! We may return there!

We had a lovely stay. The house has everything you need , it has a really well equipped kitchen . A really nice living area that felt super cosy. I am sure the house is super amazing when the weather is nice and you could use the outdoor space . We would definitely recommend.

The Blue House is also my family holiday house, which we use a lot. When not on holiday I'm an organic beef farmer near oxford, Im also a sailor and Cowes is the Mecca for sailors on the south coast.

Gurnard is a small village just to the west of Cowes. many famous sailors and people in the marine industry live here full time. It has a great community and being right on the beach means everyone is often to be seen socialising or sailing off the beach.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The house has a totally unique position in the village. It’s set back off the road by some way, and being set apart gives it complete privacy. Yet still retains the convenience of village life .The garden is huge and is a perfect space for children and dogs. It goes all the way down to the beach which is pretty unique in the UK.
