Beautiful home, great host that was easy to communicate with, very comfortably housed 5 adult women with plenty of space, beds and bathrooms. Great movie area and surround sound. The kitchen and dining area were the highlight! Highly recommend, would stay again!Only two criticisms: the dishwasher didn't work and we didn't know that until we used a bunch of dishes and filled it. :( Also, we were a little disappointed that there was no access to the water (no ladder, dock too high).

Regarding the dock, as mentioned in the email I sent before your stay, it was damaged during the flood earlier this year. Normally, there is a ladder to make getting in and out of the water much easier, but unfortunately it had not yet been repaired before your visit. The repairs are scheduled for next week, and I apologize that this wasn't completed in time for your stay. I also want to apologize about the dishwasher. We were not aware it wasn't working until I read your review. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We will have it repaired as soon as possible so future guests don't experience the same issue. Thank you again for choosing our home for your getaway. Fantastic long weekend

The house was located in a beautiful spot and everything was very clean. We loved the amount of space and the layout. Good food was minutes away.

We had a wonderful girl's trip. The owner is accommodating and friendly. The neighbors were very nice to us. The house is clean, spacious, right on the lake. It is also very close to Lake Huron. Highly recommend!

What a great place! We had immediate contact with the owner whenever we needed. The house was perfect for our family of 7. Beautiful location. The access to the lake made the week a big success. It's close to Oscoda amenities. It made our vacation to have the room to move and the charm of the whole place. Highly recommended.

Comfortable Relaxing Stay!

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Van Etten Lake Chalet! It has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay! The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms and living spaces are clean and spacious. Grab bars have been installed for safety and assistance if needed. The view of the channel is pretty. We chose this location for its proximity to some birding sites and to Lake Huron. The location is away from traffic but has easy access to main roads. Nice! The hosts are very responsive and they provided great instructions. We had a great experience here. Thank you!

Beautiful home. Was a short trip but very relaxing. By the dam so the sound of water is very nice. Would highly recommend. Getting a hold of the host when needed was almost instant. The host also let us know that the house was ready before check in time which is unheard of. Great hostess.

We loved our stay at the house! It was very spacious and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed. We enjoyed sitting on the deck each day and the view was peaceful. We would definately stay again if we are in that area. I would suggest maybe a room air conditioner for the upstairs loft area. We were fine, but the weather was cool.
