We had a great long stay at the Red House. The owners were very responsive to questions and quick to address a couple of small issues we had. The house was clean and spacious, and the decor beautiful. Location was perfect to get to restaurants, breweries, and our daughter’s summer day camp.

Great stay with family and friends

We had a great stay here. The house was clean, amenities were great and there were a ton of games for the kids. Also, if you ski, it was a convenient 10 minute drive to Bellayre.

Our second year here was as amazing as the first. Clean, comfortable, beautiful yard and views of the mountains, convenient location and super responsive owner.

Beautiful and well appointed

The house was lovely and well appointed with lots of little nice touches. They had kindling and wood to use in the fire pit and plenty of barbecuing supplies, including skewers so we could make vegetable kabobs. They also included basic condiments. It was all these little touches that made everything amazing. We also had a great time hiking and visiting the nearby towns. We highly recommend this place.

Fabulous family vacation home

Home was well appointed, very clean, private yet accessible to everything we wanted to experience in the Catskills; great hiking, fishing, swimming, and restaurants. Honestly the host thought of everything and was very responsive! Would love to stay again!!

Stunning Catskills Getaway

Everything about this property was amazing. The interior decor was beautiful and very clean with thoughtful modern touches. Ryan was super responsive and helpful - we hope we can return some day!

Cozy, stylish and a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked too, with all the little details (condiments, utensils etc) that make a big difference. Very organized, tidy and elegant, and also a very cozy home. Ryan was very helpful at all times.

What a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at the Red House on the Hill. It is in a fantastic location... close to town, hiking, swimming holes, etc though the house and grounds are so lovely you could just happily stay there too! The house is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The layout was great for our two families. The owners have thought of everything and were super responsive and great to rent from. We can't wait to go back!

A great tranquil and beautiful hideaway

This house is great because it sits up on a hill and is away from the highway and major roads. The grounds are well kept with lots of outdoor furniture, a fire pit, hot tub and bbq. Inside each room is well appointed with every detail thought through. Loved how stocked the kitchen was and great linens in the bedrooms. This became our second home and look forward to booking it again.

A Wonderful Stay at Red House on the Hill

Our family of 5 rented this wonderful home for ski season this year. Everything was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very communicative and made everything very easy for our family. The check-in and check-out processes were seamless. We loved the coziness of the home and the modern amenities that made it perfect for a long term rental. The home had everything we needed - a fully stocked kitchen, a desk area to work remotely and a wonderful yard for our kids to play. Additionally, the home was incredibly well maintained. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

Private and Plentiful

What we saw online was confirmed to our delight. Loads of amenities, very livable rooms, super kitchen, spacious backyard complete with hammock and fire pit for making s'mores. Lovely tree-lined location close to hiking, eating and playing. Communication with host was exceptional. Small problems were immediately addressed.

A perfect mountain getaway

Had a great time at the property- immediately we were impressed with the cleanliness. We spent most of our visit skiing at the local hills. Back to the house for apres ski and some time in the hot tub- the whole family enjoyed it! The location of the house was perfectly situated near fine dining, hiking trails and ski resorts. Would we come back again? Absolutely. We felt right at home and recommend it to anyone looking to get back to nature in style.

JUST PERFECT

Stayed 6 of us plus our dog for Memorial Day Weekend. The house is very functional, with great mountain views and very very nicely decorated. Very quiet and relaxing to escape the big city life. The garden in the back is very ample and the firepit is one of the highlights!! Everything works great and the owner is extremely responsive. He is clearly on top of all the details, even welcomed us with a bottle of red wine. Tons of great hikes nearby. Look forward to coming back soon!

Fantastic house in a great location!

This was our second trip to the Catskills and first time renting this house. We chose this house due to the location (it’s near great restaurants, hiking, waterfalls, etc.) and the pictures/layout of the house. We were two families (4 adults and 3 kids 8 & under). Note that the pictures don’t do the house justice. It’s much cozier and well appointed than what shows in the pictures! We had a great vacation, excellent communication from our host, and as noted in other reviews, a very well stocked house. If we decide to visit the Catskills again, this will definitely be our first choice for our place to stay.

Home away from home!

We had a wonderful month at the Red House on the Hill! We needed a place while our kitchen was getting remodeled and could not have picked a better place. The house was super well set up - great kitchen and all the pots and pans, glasses, utensils you could ask for. Very clean and organized. Loved the hot tub after skiing and the wood stove with all the wood supplied by the owners. All 4 Catskill ski areas were within 1/2 hour. Phoenicia Steakhouse was excellent and close as well as the Peekamoose! The Shandaken Inn was a nice surprise and walkable! I would love to see the yard in the warmer months. It was a great stay!

Didn't want to leave!!

My family and I stayed at Ryan's house last week and we loved it!! The house is modern, airy, bright, and spacious. It was also spotless, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and most of all -- very private and safe. I felt like I was at a home. Ryan was extremely attentive and responsive to any questions I had about the house or the area. It's a short drive to great restaurants (we loved Peekamoose and The Phoenician) and the house is just so awesome and well stocked -- there were nights we just stayed in and cooked. Ryan even furnished the house with books pertaining to local history so they were fun to flip through. I highly recommend staying here! You will love it. :)

The property both inside and out was far beyond our expectations.

This is one of those places that looks even better than the pictures. The furnishings are gorgeous yet functional. The kitchen and household supplies were fully stocked. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Ryan responded immediately to the few small issues we had. We stayed for a month and hope to do so again. It was our first time in the area and we had so much fun. We found some great hikes and restaurants (Phoenicia Diner, Sweet Sue’s and Peekamoose) Company all wanted to visit Woodstock which is an easy drive. There is a nice lake for swimming very close that all the grandkids enjoyed. We also enjoyed walking the bridge over the Hudson and visiting DIA in Beacon. We had a lot of rain and the house was perfect for those days as it has a great screened porch and we enjoyed endless games of Cribbage. One surprising aspect for us was how uncrowded the area is particularly during the week. Overall just a perfect time for us.

Perfect long weekend getaway

My family and another friend family stayed at Ryan's house over Memorial day weekend, and we had a great time. The house was very clean, tastefully decorated, and was just very comfortable to be in. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. And the covered porch is just perfect to read a book in the fresh air without having to worry about mosquitoes. There was a crazy amount of space outdoors for our kids to play soccer and other games. We didn't even get to try the hot tub or the fire pit, but the outdoor space is just amazing for us city folks :) The host provided very clear instructions and was very reachable at all times to answer questions, etc. We had a little accident with our kids who broke something, and Ryan was very understanding. Location wise, it was what we wanted. Isolated enough that we didn't see or hear any neighbors the whole weekend, but a short drive from Phoenicia and Woodstock, and plenty of restaurant and entertainment options. Overall a great experience. Fully recommend!

The setting is absolutely perfect. The house did not lack one amenity and is even better than described online. The location feels set away, yet it is close to everything you could want. The property manager is commuicative and welcoming. We could have stayed for weeks!! It really was perfect.

This house offered a quiet retreat to enjoy nature. The house was tastefully renovated. On our first day here we saw wild turkeys and rabbits in the yard. We love the drive up here passing mountains, streams, and rivers.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The large windows allows you to enjoy nature with the 270 degree view of the surroundings. Large wrap around deck great for enjoying nature or having a BBQ or enjoy cool nights by the fire pit. Convenient to the main road and attractions but feels miles away from everything.
