Este histórico Ft. Estructura Screven ha sido completamente restaurado y renovado.
¡Layla Palmer, de The Lettered Cottage, ha redecorado por completo esta increíble casa y ha recibido el premio Tybee Island Historic Society Preservation Award! Originalmente construido como uno de los tres Mess Halls para el fuerte, esta casa ha tenido una larga y colorida historia que incluye el tiempo como pensión. Este dúplex con malla protegida en el otro lado con su propia entrada privada, enlisted Men's Mess Hall cuenta con techos altos con ventiladores de techo, ventanas extra grandes en cada habitación, pisos de madera y porche con mosquitero.
Patio cercado con grandes palmeras y robles. A dos cuadras de la playa norte, a 5 minutos de la estación de Casa Luz Tybee y el restaurante North Beach Grill. El Jaycee Park (campos de pelota, la ruta para caminar, parque infantil) se encuentra directamente detrás de la casa.
El nivel del suelo, de acceso fácil, admite animales.
Aparcamiento gratuito en la calle para 2 coches. El estacionamiento es paralelo a la cerca blanca en la hierba o puede tirar hacia el lado derecho de la cerca.

House was so cute with amazing history. The hosts could not have been more accommodating. They even turned the porch lights on for us when they learned we would arrive after dark! Highly recommend Mermaid Cottages and this house. We walked everywhere and others staying in the neighborhood were all friendly and respectful. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. Would definitely stay here again.

A Lovely Stay!

What a perfect getaway rental. This is a quiet, tucked away spot that’s so close to the beach, restaurants and cool things to do and see. 20 minutes from Savannah we spent several days going to many different museums and restaurants. The hop on & off trolley is worth it in Savannah. We rented bikes on the island because everything is so close. There are so many good places to eat, especially sweets. Definitely stop by Tybean coffee, it’s so charming and they have a great selection of coffee. We have an electric car and there is a fast charger right around the corner. Super convenient. This inn has private access to the beach which is so nice and is pretty hidden. We brought our 2 small dogs and they loved the fenced in yard and the screened in porch. The house itself has everything one would need. Their beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of them without feeling crowded. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. They check in on us and communicate without being intrusive. At the end we left something behind and Tammy reached out immediately to arrange for us to get back our items. Truly wonderful hosts and a wonderful place to stay and visit. Highly recommended.

Mermaid Cottages make the perfect places to have a beautiful, clean, perfectly decorated and enjoyable place for our vacations. The beach is only a a skip away and it's a loving neighborhood. Yes, loving because we do love it! And the management gives us everything we could possibly want or need! Gracious people always!

Perfect Home Away From Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Enlisted Men's Mess Hall on Tybee Island in August. What a perfect slice of history! From the host/property manager checking in a few weeks before our stay to the day of our arrival and even to double check after a few days that all was well, the communication was exactly what was needed and appreciated. The screened in porch is perfect for sipping morning tea or afternoon drinks. The house was so well kept, decorated and comfortable. The three of us had plenty of room to relax. The cleanliness was exceptional. Parking was right outside the front door. Everything in the house was in perfect working order. And the beach is right there, with a quick walk through the officers row. The beach location was great and not heavily crowded, we had the beach mostly to ourselves the whole week. Oh and a surprise was the local VFW had Bingo Friday nights, literally two minutes walk from the house. Couldn't have asked for a better location and home to stay in for a much needed vacation. Thank you Mermaid Cottages we will be back!

Quiet and comfortable

This quirky and charming home was the perfect beach getaway for us. A short walk to the beach, lighthouse and science center was perfect for us.

Located near the lighthouse, the beach, the Legion and the Jaycee park it is a wonderful area to walk and bike.The house was clean and beds were comfortable. But the highlight was the incredible service from the Mermaid Cottages staff. They were incredibly helpful and responsive. I would rent through them again for an unforgettable experience in Tybee Island!

The management staff couldn't have been better. Friendly, helpful and generally added a great element to our trip. We were there a week before Helene came in. Our weather was very nice but we're sorry that the island had to go through a hurricane. We hope that there was not much damage. We're looking forward to another trip to Tybee and Mermaid Cottages.

Our family of four fit perfectly in this cottage, and the walk to the beach was super easy and a fun adventure for our kids. The quiet neighborhood was lovely, and the house was adorable. It wasn't *perfectly* clean, but it was just fine and Mermaid Cottages couldn't have been more friendly, helpful, or professional. We would love to stay here again but will ALWAYS rent with Mermaid Cottages due to their above and beyond customer service. We LOVED this little property!

Always wonderful

We have stayed at Screened Inn numerous times, and we can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit Tybee. We also feel that the mermaids are hands down the best property management group that we've ever encountered. We'll be back as soon as possible!

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

This charming cottage is everything we need and much of what draws us back to Tybee. The location is ideal and within a 7 minute walk to the beach through a jasmine lined little path. The Mermaids are wonderful and respond to any needs you might have while visiting. The cottage is spotless, the porch is like none other! On a rainy morning when you can't get to the beach, where better to spend some time than on that porch!? Thank you, Mermaids, for yet another perfect stay at the Mess Hall!!!

Tybee Island vacation

Stayed here for a few days with my husband, our friends and their dog. The place was perfect for two couples or a couple with a few kids. The fenced in yard was excellent for the dog too! We spent most of our time on the delightful screened in porch watching life go by on the Island. Clean, cute and cleverly decorated. Easy walk to the beach through the secret gate. I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Delightful retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cottage is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the beach and the lighthouse, which was lovely. My favorite thing, though, was the porch! When the waves are big at the beach, you can hear them from the porch. My husband and I sat in the rockers, reading and listening to the waves, in the evenings, and it made me never want to leave. We loved the cute, vintage-y touches in the cottage as well. Of the three times we've stayed with Mermaid Cottages, this cottage was definitely my favorite!
