Escape to a luxurious and immaculate barn home in Roan Mountain for a relaxing getaway. This stunning 2 bedroom + loft retreat features a full kitchen with quartz countertops, spacious king bed in the main bedroom and a convenient full size sofa bed in the second bedroom which also includes a desk with keyboard, mouse and monitor. The beautiful gas fireplace for the chilly evenings, heating and A/C, high speed WiFi, fully appointed kitchen, and washer and dryer, ensure guests can feel right at home. A large smart TV and sound system allows you to enjoy movies and entertainment. Sit on the spacious deck and listen to creek and watch the bountiful wildlife attracted by the pond. The bathroom offers a refreshing shower and a hairdryer for added convenience. One of the most beautiful sections of the Appalachian Trail is only a 15 minute drive away. We are 5 minutes above the beautiful Roan Mountain State Park. Many popular attractions like Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Banner Elk, Boone, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, Watagua Lake, wineries ensure you have easy access to year round entertainment but you can enjoy the solitude and quiet of this beautiful retreat. It's easy to see why you'll be able to unwind at Firefly Holler. AWD or 4WD vehicles are strongly recommended in winter.

The farm and barndo were magical. The house was the cleanest Vrbo we've ever stayed at and all the plants and decor made it feel very homey. The view was breathtaking. The host was lovely, providing everything we needed and was attentive to messages and helpful with guiding us to great hiking spots and stores we needed. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We loved going on walks with our dog and saying hi to the chickens, pig, and cows. Teresa even let me daughter help feed the chickens and pig which she loved. This was the perfect Spring Break getaway!

Cozy little location

Great location to local amenities. Owner was very friendly and helpfully. Easy to find, nice views of the surrounding areas, and plenty of space for kids to run around.

This cabin has by far been our favorite property! It’s such a perfect location to enjoy the Carvers Gap area. The decor was amazing, we loved the vibrancy and freshness of the home. The kitchen was the best kitchen we’ve ever used! We prefer home cooked meals and omg this was paradise for us. Thank you Teresa so much for opening your doors to this wonderful place! Thank you for accepting our pups too!

Wonderful retreat

Beautiful location on a mountain farm. Teresa is a gracious host who genuinely cared about my experience. The barndo was incredibly clean and has everything you could need to escape from your every day life. I was there to do just that with my dog. We enjoyed quiet time in the barndo as well as wandering around the farm and walking up the mountain. I had a wonderful time and definitely recommend this location.

Perfect spot for us.

We travel a lot and this is one of the nicest VRBO properties ww have stayed in because of the atmosphere. We enjoyed everything about this hidden gem. My children told me they already miss Kayra, one of the friendly dogs roaming the property. The owner went out of her way to let my children experience collecting eggs. I can't say they didn't break any. It felt like a home away from home. It was a perfect location for exploring the AT at Carvers Gap and Roan Mountain. I highly recommend this one.

Charming, Inviting & Welcoming, This Property Is Amazing!

This is easily one of the best VRBO rentals we've ever done among many over the years internationally and throughout the U.S. To say it is inviting and welcoming is an understatement - from the moment you cross the threshold into this beautiful "Barndo" I'm confident you'll feel as we did, just wanting to experience the amazing mountain views from every comfortable chair, to hunker down with a book or listen to music. The living areas are incredibly well-appointed, the furniture comfortable, the space truly amazing with points of interest inside and out. You'll want for nothing as the owner has anticipated all of your needs, from extra linens to snacks, and and every kitchen utensil you may desire and I love not having to pack as much bc of the full size W/D. I'm mad for the color scheme, artwork and the plants which make the environment so engaging and alive. We stayed at this property for over 10-days during the fall, prior to it being listed on VRBO so we became familiar with the surroundings that offer so SO much to do from hiking the property to adventuring out to the ATX and amazing national forests within minutes, or investigating local dining. We had to work during this overnight and the free wifi made it a breeze (better than home!) No review would be complete without mentioning the vistas and the sounds that envelope you. The creek provides a constant, rhythmic soundtrack and peace and calm are constant companions. The host is a joy as is this property.

The Burbank area of Roan Mountain is perfectly situated above the state park with easy access to the Appalachian Trail, Hiking, and local amenities. Cool breezes abound in summer. The property offers lots of walkable land, creeks, and a gorgeous pond.

This barn was lovingly designed and built with attention to detail. It is comfortable, charming, very clean, and provides amazing views of the surrounding 80 acre farm.
