Guys get away

The property was just what was expected the management team was very responsive before the stay. They called us before hand to tell us the hot tub was not going to be functional for the weekend and offered to switch us cabins or refund the cleaning fee for the hot tub. It was great to be contacted for this but the cabins view was what our group was after all along. We would stay at this property again in the future.

Staff was friendly and informative. Cabin was clean and ready to go. Perfect place to stay with multiple family members or for a get away. Hot tub is a must try.

Beautiful Weekend Getaway

The drive up the mountain is worth it! The hot tub was so nice and so we're the views. The beds could be more comfortable but not bad for a weekend stay. It was nice to have dishwasher pods, and dish soap. A couple washer pods would have been nice as well but no big deal just a suggestion! There were plenty of towels, hand towels and wash clothes for us all to use which was very convenient. My family loved it and enjoyed the beautiful view and cabin! We couldn't figure out how to work the fireplace but it might have been our fault 😅 We didn't want to bother to call and have someone come up since we mostly just spent the night there! The office workers were friendly on check in and check out and helped me figure out where the dumpster was. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Great experience overall. Loved the hot tube and the lay out. Wonderful property. The miles to a store and e short but the road is very curvy so I recommend bringing in what you need.

Burnside Reflections

We traveled here from Michigan and stayed one week at The Gathering Place. The basic amenities are provided here and should you need something, the office is manned daily. (We reported no propane for the fireplace and the request was fulfilled.) The cabin affords decent views of the Appalachian foothills; although, there is a cabin across the road from The Gathering Place that obstructs the horizon. The view is still stunning! We were centrally located to visit the Mill Springs Battlefield, Perryville Battlefield, Original KFC in Corbin, and the Castle & Key Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. (We highly recommend a tour at the distillery.) 😉 Note: Use extreme caution when driving the 5-6 miles of twisting roadway to and from the cabin. One afternoon an oncoming vehicle was speeding and clearly had crossed over the center line…we narrowly escaped a head-on collision! Overall, we would recommend a stay at the Cumberland Resort Properties.

Nice home, far from everything, not so great view

The house was great, size was perfect. It was a 30 minute drive to shopping, dining, grocery, etc. which would have been okay if the view was better. We looked out from the deck to the neighbors house. No clear view of mountains.

Burnside Vacation

We just finished up our one week stay in the Gathering Place! We loved the location of the cabin, the games, and the hot tub. The cabin was fairly well stocked with cooking supplies. The office also had an assortment of groceries in case you found yourself in a pinch. They also had a pack n play and high chair available for my 6 month old which was a big help! The only complaint I have was that the downstairs of the cabin could have used some cleaning. The carpet didn’t feel super clean (what appeared to be animal hair was on the floor downstairs) and neither did the bathrooms (there was hair in the shower when we got there). The baseboards and walls also could have used a good scrubbing. Overall, we had a GREAT stay!

Fantastic house and location

My partner and I wanted to get away for a long weekend with our dog and we are so happy we found this location! The house was great - stocked kitchen with lots of utensils, plates, cups, etc., comfortable bed, and plenty of room. The outside spaces were awesome. The screened in porch was excellent, as was the propane grill (when we found out it was propane instead of charcoal, we completely changed our meal plans for the week). The pool table and hot tub were also a great time. If we had brought our three kids, it would have been plenty of room as well. It is a relatively close drive to stores (once you get down the mountain, the bigger town for shopping is about 15 minutes away), as well as various hiking locations. Can't wait to come back with family!

great cabin for family

This cabin was great for our family of six there are three bedrooms and two roll away beds ( although no where to really put the roll away beds easilly we had to set up around the pool table) but it worked out. We had adult children with us so they wanted their own beds so the younger children used the roll aways. The beds are comfortable and there is a bathroom for each bedroom which is nice. The kitchen was well stocked we made all our meals there and the table was big enough to seat us all. We could not sign into our netflix on the TV( it is not a smart TV ) so that limited options for movies but we did find something with what they had. The hot tub was great, make sure you read the instructions and have it on St for standard mode so it heats up. The grill was awesome to have and we loved sitting on the deck looking at the beautiful view. The pool is the neighborhood over so you do have to drive to it, not far though. The location is close to Burnside Marina and we rented a boat for the day, it was great! Would definitely stay here again!
