The River View Chalet Unit 11 features aspen log furniture and a full kitchen (minus oven) contributing to a cozy mountain escape. This one-bath suite includes a king bed, queen-size futon, wood-burning fireplace, and patio with table, chairs, and a gas grill. Enjoy cable TV with free DVD movie rentals, a game room with pool table, complimentary snowshoe rentals during the winter, and a heated pool in the summer. Downtown shopping and dining are minutes from your door while Rocky Mountain National Park rests just two miles away. Handicap-friendly with no steps up to this unit (or in this unit), and a handicap parking spot nearby. Free Wi-Fi. Dogs welcome with approval ($25 per dog/per night) but no other pets and no smoking, please. This unit will comfortably sleep up to four guests.

Nice location & amenities

Enjoyed our stay and loved the option of cooking in, considering the price of eating out. Saw deer out our back window several days of our stay and an elk across the road one evening.

There is an ottoman that you push together with the futon to create a queen futon. I apologize that was not clear. This was so easy and comfortable. The cabin was spacious for the two of us. Much bigger than a typical hotel room. The outside of the property seems like it's being updated slowly. The pool was clean and warm enough even on a cool day. I saw a couple bugs, but nothing more than I see at my own house, lol! The bedding, kitchen, bathroom, etc were spotless. There were nice amenities like a fan and space heater amongst many other things.

Not a House

When I was searching for listings, I filtered the search to show results where we would have an entire house to ourselves. This, along with most other results, are not houses. They are multi-building properties. The "chalet" was more like a two-room duplex. We shared a wall with another group. So I felt a little misled (by VRBO, not the host) when we pulled into the property. That said, the property was clean, in a great location, and the host messaged us while we were there asking if there was anything we needed. We had lots of hiking and other activities planned so we didn't spend much time in the room. It was more than adequate for our needs. I would recommend if your plans are similar.

The room was excellent and was even better than expected. We were disappointed that the futon was not a queen and was very uncomfortable would have liked a queen size. Overall great place and will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Estes Park.

A futon sleeper is never as comfortable as a bed, but it sounds like maybe the two pieces were not used together. There are two pieces to the futon - the larger cushion and then a smaller log furniture section. I apologize that this was not clear. We hope you are able to visit again as well as any of your friends and family that you share with.
