Not representative of listing, dirty and everything is broken. Pool jets didn’t work, and it wasn’t heated, no hot tub. All hot tubs were empty. Multiple pools and hot tubs were completely dry with small moldy puddles in the center. Tile was cracked everywhere and missing tiles around pool, no chairs or umbrellas at beach or pool. Grill was filthy and had no propane. Plumbing issues, hot water issues. Miserable place.

I disagree completely with the reviewer. Everything is in order in our apartment. The apartment was cleaned before the arrival of the guests and our maid visited daily to pick up and clean I would not rent again to this guest

Tranquil and Serene

Property is great to relax with a nice pool and beach accessible to those on the complex. We enjoyed having the beach to ourselves. Punta Espada Golf was simply superb. You will need to secure transportation to reach Juanillo Beach Club, the marina and supermarket.

Wonderful 2 bedroom unit with spectacular ocean view and hot tub!

This 2 bedroom condo was perfect for our small family, and the extra Xmas touches were amazing! The unit is beyond fully stocked and the outdoor space was spectacular! The hot tub was heated and clean, and we appreciated having a BBQ to enjoy outdoor dinners! Tirso was a great host that communicated quickly and every attention to detail was provided! Thanks for making our holiday stay one to remember!

Absolutely lovely!

We had an beautiful stay at this condo over Christmas 2015. The condo is as beautiful as you envision from the photographs and was even decorated for Christmas with a fully adorned tree! Being on the first floor was a delight and we were able to walk easily to the pool (100 ft away) and the beach (another 50 ft further), or just lounge on the veranda. We rented a car and made trips to the grocery store, so we ate some meals at the condo, some outside the resort, and for others we purchased a la carte from the pool restaurant which was totally reasonable. It was perfect!

great property and peaceful vacation

this was a new experience for us. since the pandemic, we have avoided all inclusive properties. this property is very high end and comfortable. while it is farther from groceries, etc, we planned our 11 nights and meals so that we only had one taxi to take. bottle water only cost $2 Canadian dollars for 20 liters. the staff are kind, attentive and always willing to help. strongly encourage any reader to try this one out, many thanks Tirso! 10/10

Peaceful and quite

We loved our stay at Sotogrande. The place is not very busy and we had the beach to ourself every time. We rented a car which was a must. We went to the grocery store a few times and made breakfast and lunch at the condo and went out for dinner. The marina had a lot of options. We did day passes to margaritaville for $120/person but got all inclusive food and drinks. We also did a day at Playa Blanca beach restaurant who h was $30/person but used as a credit towards food and drinks. We also rented a boat for the day to snorkel and fish. We had issues getting the hot tub to work, but Triso sent a technician multiple times to try and fix it. We loved the view from the outdoor patio and had a great time as a family.

Pebble Beach of the Dominican!

My husband and two teenage sons stayed here during march break. The condo is a spectacular 10/10. Even better than we had expected, and nicer than the pictures. The view of the pool and beach from the terrace is unbelievable. If you have small children be aware the water is completely accessible. Children will need constant supervision and better yet never let them take off their life jacket.The condo is immaculate and stocked with everything you will need other than groceries. Getting groceries was a bit of an issue without a car. Might be best to rent a car, as everything is very spread out. We rented a golf cart for 50.00 a day which was great in the resort , but if you want to go outside the resort you will need a car. The Golf is a spectacular 10/10! My husband is a huge golfer and was at Pebble Beach the week before. He said the Punta Espada course rivalled Pebble! There are 8 holes right on the ocean and the course is immaculately pristine. Also quite reasonable. They didn't want to play any other courses because they loved this one so much.They would definitely go back just for the golf! If you are looking for night life and entertainment, this does not seem to be a very lively spot. We went out twice for dinner and it was nice , but the resort seemed very quiet.(maybe it was just a quiet time) If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, high end golf experience and a beautiful high end condo, then this is your spot. But if you want excitement and activity and more than relaxation then you might prefer a resort.There is a concierge in the lobby who is extremely helpful with anything you need and the owner was also extremely professional, helpful, and available whenever we had questions. Really great spot and we will definitely be back! .

Nice room, resort seriously lacking.

The condo was two parts. The part containing the master suite and full kitchen was well decorated and comfortable. The oven did not work and only 2 burners on the stove worked well enough to actually cook something. The second bedroom had some major issues. The water in the bathroom smelled like rotten eggs. It could not be turned on at any point during our stay or it would smell throughout the condo. The ceiling in the 2nd bedroom also looked to have water damage. We did not opt for all-inclusive at this resort as other guests stated that the options were limited and lackluster. The beach was very disappointing in front of the condo. It has the large rock fixture that creates a natural pool but it stayed completely covered in seaweed. We saw someone shoveling the seaweed a few times but it remained all over the beach and in the lagoon area. We left the resort to eat a few nights but the cab fares were $60+ dollars to go to Punta Cana. We tried to use the conceierge, Angel, to recommend some local fare but we found him to be quite rude and unhelpful. If you are looking for a happening spot with activities, this resort is not for you. The activities "staff" did 1-2 small activities (throwing a coconut, 2 rounds of darts, etc.) per day. The pool bar closed at 6pm, the pool closed at 8pm and no entertainment happened in the evenings. The resort is in need of some updating/repairs. We had fun and loved the things that we went off resort to see but the resort was disappointing compared to the other Al Sol resorts.

Sotogrande at Cap Cana is a lovely, quiet resort.

Let me start by saying that the condominium was lovely and nicely appointed. However, there were problems that arose in the unit throughout the entire stay. The owner’s LACK OF RESPONSIVENESS was a huge negative. The main problem was the washer and dryer (we rented both sides of the unit so there were 2 of each in the unit)...none of them worked properly or at all, and emitted a musty smell (permeating throughout the whole unit). We had 4 children with us and had packed assuming there was working washer and dryer. We had to "borrow" towels from the hotel pool (the hotel management would not provide towels, because it was the “owner's responsibility”), and I had to hand wash and hang clothes to dry out on the unsecure deck (I am sure the other guests enjoyed seeing our socks and underwear!) I placed several emails/calls to the owner, however he never responded to me directly and they were never properly fixed. Although maintenance came to fix them on a few occasions, they failed to fix the units. Worse yet, they would not come unless we were there in the unit and we waited for the maintenance guy for hours instead of being outside enjoying the wonderful sunshine. I also asked the owner to recommend where we could go to do our laundry, but he never responded. The maid did not even show up one day without notice, and she picked the day that we ran out of toilet paper. Again we were six people, and had to take individual sheets from the pool as the hotel would not give us TP (“owner's responsibility”) and the owner refused to respond to my emails/calls.IN ADDITION, the hot tub didn't work, the maid tried to get us to pay additional amount for service, the master bathtub did not have hot water and would not drain (there was standing water in it when we arrived) and the drains in both of the master bath sinks were broken. While I wouldn't have minded a broken item or two, having to spend our vacation time waiting for maintenance crew who sometimes showed up...late...or sometimes not at all....and NEVER hearing from the owner at all was SHOCKING AND SO COMPLETELY FRUSTRATING. To this day, weeks later, the owner hasn't responded once to me, let alone apologized.The SotoGrande itself is a lovely resort...part condo, party hotel. They do offer daily "all inclusive", and if you bargain, they will discount the daily rate and allow you passes to dine at one of the marina restaurants. Hard to order/pay for anything ala carte. Having only 2 restaurants,

Sotogrande is indeed a lovely, special place!. It is quiet, incredibly beautiful, with an amazing pool that ovelooks the turquoise ocean and at this time of the year it is graced with warm breezes that will make you forget the cold harsh winter. The beautiful Punta Espada golf course, the great restaurants at La Marina, the incredible Eco-Park Scape to Cap Cana add to the wonderful experience that is Cap Cana and Sotogrande. Maybe those are the reasons we have gotten such great reviews over the years. Some guests have complained in the past about minor issues but haven't bothered degrading our beautiful destination and apartment with low reviews centered on a single issue, obviating the other 99 great things about their stay and the site. Appliances break down! Unfortunately, some parts aren't available on new years eve. The problem has since been fixed. I appologize for the inconveniences this single issue caused you and hope it did not ruin all the other great things that the apartment and the location had to offer.

Great Quiet Location

We stayed in this apartment for 5 days. The place exceeded our expectations. It was an enjoyable time from start to finish. The apartment was very clean and the communication with Tirso, the host, was very professional and timely. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience. The complex is very quiet and well maintained. The outside area is magnificent specially the hot tub. We stayed there for hours and hours. We travel to Cap Cana often and have stayed in many locations. This was absolutely one of our best experience. The location is close to the airport, Mall, Grocery store, Gas station, restaurants etc. The area is beautiful and very safe. I strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet and clean place to enjoy the Caribbean vibe.

Nuestra estadia en el apartamente de Tirso fue excelente. Esta muy bien equipado y Tirso siempre estuvo muy atento con cualquier cosa que necesitaramos. Algo que nos gusto mucho, fue que habia servicio de limpieza incluido. Algo dificil de encontrar en la zona ( sin gastos extras).

Had trouble getting into the property but aftwards all good!

Had a problem with the keys and getting into the property. It took about an hour to locate the owner and get in. They were not prepared to receive guests. One of those things. However apartment was very good and very well equipped. The owner was very helpful and tried to solve the problem however VRBO was not diligent in solving the problem. Was not happy with their customer service.

Excellent accommodation!

The property is very quiet but the condo outstanding! It is spacious, clean and well equipped. The hot tub was great but the pool was average and somewhat barren. The outdoor patio was fantastic as was the living and dining room. The owner was also very helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

FABULOUS ACCOMADATIONS!

Very nice Condo with all the comforts and convenience. When we got there it was later in evening and thought we would sit in the private pool and relax after a long trip. Unfortunately, someone had the temperature up so high you could cook a lobster. But it was no big deal we found the controls and and fixed that the next day and loved the convenience of the private pool. The location within the complex could not have been more perfect. We heard people complaining about noise and a few other little complaints, but we always felt like we were secluded somewhat and very quiet. If your looking for relaxation.....this is definitely the place. We were a little disappointed in the evenings as the resort does not have much for evening activities. We are not real night people but would have like the more options. The condo itself has everything you would need.

Amazing scape!!!

My Husband and I stayed for a weekend in this beautifull apartment at Cap Cana!! Tha apartment was in perfect conditions, Very cleaned, amazing decoration with a lot of details it really felt homy. We have on hand anyhing we should need during our stay and in excellent conditions. The kitchen the bathroon full equip. My best part of the apartment was laying down next to the jacussi and see the wonderfull beach view from the Terraze. I didn't want to leave. We want to come back and take this same unit but next time we want to take our kids becuase eventhough we had a romantic scape it is also very famiy oriented. We felt very secure. The resort provides also concierge service, nice pooll with beach view. You can used all the facilities of the resort. Great option and owners are very on hand and responsible person. I recomend renting a car so you can go take advantage of all things you can do around, Amazing Spot!! Can't wait to come back!!

Golf Getaway

My wife & I, along with another couple from NC, were looking for a golf getaway retreat that would comfortably accommodate use. Our search began in VRBO and we quickly zeroed in on Sotogrande, unit 5102 to be specific. It was everything and more as advertised, 1st floor walk-out, 2 equally comfortable bedrooms, well equipped and decorated, clean and well maintained. Our rental unit was centrally located between golf courses, beach options and the Sanctuary resort. We loved it and cannot wait to return.

Pleasant stay!

We stayed twos weeks on this very confortable apartment. We enjoyed every second there. The apartment is very well equipped, nicely decorated and the owners were very attentive to us. Being at steps of the beach and the big swimming pool, we also had the option of Juanitto Beach, distant about ½ mile from the apartment. Other great option to relax during the day at the beach, inside the Cap Cana complex, where the apartment is located, is the Caleton Beach Club.

incredible vacation, one of a kind

We spent a week at this wonderful condo where our biggest decision every day was which body of water were we going to sit at first. Daily routine:Morning coffee on the beach watching the sunrise, poolside late morning thru afternoon with frequent dips, walks to collect shells, capped off with evening plunge pool. Spent many hours walking picking up shells which turned into a competition. Side trips are very easy to arrange via the concierge. Eco tour at Scape Park is a must do. This condo was selected above all other options because of the amazing outdoor space. The other reviewers are correct...photos only tell a small part of of the story. I have never experienced such an incredible space where you can put your feet up, feel ocean breezes, see the ocean and infinity pool at one time, listen to palm trees swaying and drift off. The sand is white and the water clear and warm. I am not a strong swimmer so the lagoon feel to the ocean water was perfect. For a more "robust" ocean experience Juanillo beach is nearby and equally beautiful. Much more activity there with music, and lots of great people watching. It is nice to mix it up. Sotogrande has many options to please all. It does not disappoint. Back to the condo: the condo makes you feel like you are home...cooking is not an issue especially with the gas grill. Yolanda our maid was friendly and very accommodating. The accommodations are contemporary and high end. For those who like all inclusives you can have the best of both worlds...the all inclusive option is available thru the hotel for $65 per person per day. It includes meals and all you can drink. There is a swim up bar/restaurant which you can go to as well. All of the other reviewers recommend a car and I agree. We rented one for the entire trip. Spent time at the marina dining and of course getting groceries (recommend the market near the airport). I am a big believer in the island experience and immersing oneself in local culture. Once the word gets out this condo will be hard to reserve.

Dominican Oasis

This Cap Cana residence was everything that was advertised. The accommodations were clean, spacious, comfortable, and I can't say enough about location, location, location! Just steps to the infinity pool, as well as the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea! So relaxing! The Punta Espada golf course on the property has to be seen to be believed. On our last night we discovered the Punta Cana village with an assortment of shops and fun restaurants. I recommend that you rent a car unless you prefer to just be a slug by the pool and beach. The Sanctuary is beautiful with great restaurants, but it seems that the resort is trying to become all inclusive, and it was difficult paying directly for food and drinks. Restaurants in the Marina were much easier to navigate. All in all, a beautiful place for just relaxing and reading a book. Somewhat secluded, which I loved!

Awesome time in DR thanks to this amazing condo !!!

We just came back from and incredible (probably the best ocean front vacation I've ever had w my family) trip to the DR. This property more than exceeded our entire family's expectations !!! Wow !!! Scrapping at the bottom of the barrel to find anything that could be improved and honestly this is an 11 on a scale of 1-10!! The owners are so nice and accommodating and exceeded in every way. The condo is 7 star quality in my book; the view out of the world. Great for kids and families looking for a quiet , fun and sun soaked vacation !! Coming back for sure !!!

A 4 day stay at Cap Cana

The location of the property was very convenient to shopping,the airport and the main highways.The property was exactly as depicted in photographs.The property was clean and well kept but I felt it lacked closet space for any extended stay.I would certainly recommend it to friends.While I was in Punta Cana I took part in a Segway tour and a zip-line activity which I found extremely enjoyable.

New Years holiday at Sotogrande Cap Cana

Sotogrande is a beautiful location with experienced and nice staff. The apartment we stayed in was very close to a white sandy beach where we played soccer, volley ball and lounged under the sun. We had a magnificent view of the ocean and infinity pool from the apartment. For New years we dined at a nice Italian restaurant at the Marina and had some drinks at a very hip club across from the Marina. Sotogrande is the perfect location to spend time with family and friends or for a romantic getaway.
