Nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Pond Eddy, NY, Tuthill Treehouse offers the perfect balance of seclusion and adventure in the western Catskills.

Surrounded by forests, river towns, hiking trails, and mountain views, guests can fully unplug while still being just minutes from dining, skiing, rafting, and local shops.

Start your day with coffee on the deck, then head into Barryville (a 5-minute drive) for farm-fresh breakfast, vintage shops, and one of the best farmer’s markets in the Catskills (Saturdays, May–Oct). For lunch or dinner, try The Heron in Narrowsburg or Black Walnut in Callicoon. Want to keep it casual? The Stickett Inn’s cider tasting room hits the spot.

The Delaware River is a huge draw—perfect for canoeing, kayaking, tubing, or simply lounging along its banks. The Outpost and Kittatinny Adventures offer rentals and guided trips nearby. Hikers will enjoy the nearby trails in Minisink Battleground Park or a scenic drive to Mongaup Pond and the Tusten Mountain Trail. In the fall, this area is stunning with vibrant foliage and crisp mountain air.

In winter, skiing and snow tubing are within driving distance, and the cabin becomes the perfect après-ski hideaway. Year-round, the night skies are incredible—some of the best stargazing in the state thanks to minimal light pollution.

If you’re up for exploring, check out local galleries, flea markets, live music venues (Bethel Woods, the OG Woodstock!), and hidden antique stores. Or just do what most guests do—slow down, breathe deep, and let the woods work their magic.

Guests will have full private access to the entire home and surrounding property during their stay. Self check-in is available via keypad for a seamless arrival experience.

You'll definitely need a car! Or at least a ride from the nearest train station (Port Jervis, 20ish minutes away).

If you're coming from NYC, we highly recommend you drive in via Route 97 from Port Jervis. This takes you over the winding Hawks Nest overpass, featuring stunning aerial views of the Delaware River, nestled between the Catskill (NY) and Pocono (PA) Mountains.

The nearest commercial airports, New York Stewart International (SWF) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AVP), are each one hour drive from Tuthill Treehouse. Newark Liberty (EWR) offers more flight options but is two hours away.

The cabin is located on a dirt road called Tuthill Road. You can access it from two directions:

1. Turn onto Tuthill Rd from Route 97. From there, it's a short but windy uphill drive to the cabin. This is the most direct way to access the property. PLEASE NOTE: When there's snow on the ground, you may need a 4-wheel-drive vehicle to get up the hill. Getting out that way in the snow is no problem as it's all downhill.

2. When the weather's bad (and you don't have 4WD), enter Tuthill Rd from the upper end via Van Tuyl Rd. From there it's mostly downhill to the cabin. BONUS: You'll drive past some adorable cottages on that side of the road. :)

• Minimum age: The primary guest booking the reservation must be at least 25 years old.

• Pre-arrival requirements: All reservations require the primary guest to sign our rental agreement/liability waiver prior to check-in. A link will be sent after booking.

• Cedar hot tub: Our new 6-person AlumiTubs cedar hot tub offers a peaceful soaking experience. This is a jet-free soaking tub, intentionally designed for quiet relaxation under the trees rather than a traditional spa with bubbles and lights.

• Dirt road access: Tuthill Rd is a town-maintained dirt road. During winter and early spring (freeze–thaw “mud season”), the hill approaching the house can become soft or slippery. AWD or 4WD vehicles are strongly recommended during these periods.

• Snow removal: During snow season, our driveway is plowed by a local company once snowfall reaches approximately 3 inches. Decks, steps, and walkways are self-service; snow shovels and salt are provided and stored in the outdoor trash shed.

• The property is equipped with five outdoor security cameras with audio that monitor: 1) front roundabout driveway, 2) back side of the house, 3) front entrance/porch, 4) side entrance/porch, and 5) back yard/fire pit. Cameras are for security only and do not record any indoor or private areas.

• Check-in is anytime after 4 PM and checkout is 11 AM. Early check-in and late checkout may be available upon request for an additional fee, except on same-day turnovers. Check with us 24 hours prior to your arrival/departure to confirm availability.

• The primary bedroom is an open sleeping loft overlooking the living area. Guests seeking complete privacy for every bedroom should review the photos/descriptions before booking.

• Like many homes in the Catskills, Tuthill Treehouse runs on a private well and septic system. We ask guests to be mindful of water usage by avoiding running multiple high-water appliances at the same time, flushing only toilet paper, and keeping grease and food waste out of the drains.
