Really cute cottage!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It is ideally located within an easy walk to town and a small beach. Darlene was very attentive and provided all we needed for a great stay. We plan on a return visit next year.

Lovely cottage with convenient location

I had a wonderful stay at this cottage. Darlene was a lovely host. Will definitely be back. Clean, convenient and well situated. This will definitely be my choice next year on my return visit to my home Gloucester and Rockport.

wonderful cottage, wonderful location

We loved this cottage. It is very attractive, functional and has everything you need. The location is very quiet but incredibly handy to get in and out of Rockport and Gloucester. We were able to easily play tennis at the nearby school, golf at the nearby golf club and enjoy the beaches of Gloucester. Darlene, the owner, has decorated the cottage simply yet it has all the appliances and comforts you need. We were able to bring our well-behaved Jack Russell terrier and he loved the walks nearby as well as the cottage itself. It is indeed a peaceful cottage retreat and highly recommended!

Wonderful stay

We were in Rockport for the birth of a grandchild. This place was perfect for us as it was close to our family and convenient to the local shops and events. This was a great place to stay and we hope to return for future visits to Rockport! Thank you Darlene for the opportunity!

Perfect getaway for two!

We absolute loved this property! Just what we were looking for! We felt right at home here. Clean, modern & up-to-date design. We had everything we needed and the owner generously stocked the essentials. Darlene gave us our privacy and yet was available if we needed anything at anytime. We will be back. A well-designed small home that has everything 2 people would need to enjoy the sights and sounds of beautiful Rockport. Most everything is built in and all the furnishings were comfortable. A charming place for a vacation.

stylish, peaceful and spacious cottage

We had a very comfortable week in this modern cottage. It is interesting and thoughtfully designed, and is a generous size for two people. Easy walk into beautiful Rockport, and there's a gorgeous little beach 10 minutes walk through a very pretty residential area. Darlene was on hand if needed but not at all intrusive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

extremely comfortable stay

We loved our stay in this beautiful architect (owner) designed cottage with every detail just perfect. Situated in a niche near the road to Rockport schools next to one of the largest oaks on earth (six foot diameter), the windows were oriented to nature, birds were always present, and the feeling was more like being in the peaceful woods--although the village is only a mile away. Darlene was generous in many ways to make our stay very comfortable.

cozy contempoary

We rented this cottage for the month of December to be near family for the holidays. we enjoyed our winter experience in Rockport and the cottage met our needs. Most importantly, it was cozy comfy on these frigid New England days. Interesting in -floor heating, great insulation. The place came fully supplied and Darlene was very responsive and pleasant as a host.

Rockport Retreat - Relaxation at it's best!

Loved staying here! Cottage was clean, private and fully equipped with everything we needed. Furthermore, it was located in walking distance to town, tea room and beautiful beaches. Darlene was the perfect hostess. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Getaway Cottage

We stayed for three weeks in August 2016. This property is exactly the way the pictures show it. It's great for low maintenance as far as cleaning which is nice when you are on vacation. The amenities were adequate. There is no a/c and we only had two nights that were uncomfortable for sleeping. Rockport was unusually warm for the month of August. The location is great if you like to walk to town. We walked every day and just enjoyed every minute of our walks. You can also take some side roads and walk along the coast. Great picture taking moments. Gloucester is 3 miles away and there are lots of fun things to take in there also. We enjoyed the owners very much Darlene and Rob and they were always helpful if we had any questions for them. The only con that we had with the unit is that their isn't a picture in the whole unit. There are such beautiful spots in Rockport that I wish they had some pictures of Bearskin Neck or Motif#1 on the walls. This is a great place to stay and Rockport is just a lovely town to enjoy. You definitely will be very satisfied if you stay here.

Perfect Getaway

My wife and I enjoyed a week at the cottage. It was exceptionally equipped with everything we needed. We hope to return again in the near future and stay longer. We loved the town of Rockport & the many surrounding communities. The owners of this cottage were very thoughtful in providing all the things needed. Unfortunately we did not meet them in person but there was nothing we really needed. Very spacious living space made for an exceptional experience. Highly recommend this place for a romantic get away.

Wonderful Rental Option for Family with Young Children

We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage. My husband, myself and our two children (ages 4 & 7) stayed for 2 weeks. The space is very well thought out with every cabinet and corner offering storage or an additional use. (i.e. - there are several window seats that both the kids and I loved). It is a bright, airy and clean. The windows offer a wonderful breeze and ventilation both day and night, the ceiling fan in the bedroom is very strong. I was concerned about no air conditioning but even on the few hot days we had the cottage stayed cool during the day and temps cooled off at night. Location is perfect, it is really quiet at night and during the day you can walk to the playground if you have children to entertain or to Old Garden Beach which became our favorite "hang out". Adults and older children could walk to town, my younger one would not have been able to make it walking into town, around the shops AND back home again, the return trip is somewhat uphill which would be tough with younger kids unless in a stroller. (My 7 year old could have easily done it though). Having a washer & dryer and dishwasher were an added perk along with the microwave, toaster oven and grill out back. The owners are very nice and helpful. They offered up fresh eggs from their chickens, a lobster pot and utensils when we had a lobster dinner, many of the "basics" are already there upon arrival and they have boogie boards, beach chairs, and cooler that you can use as well. (and the chickens are quiet, no early morning wake up calls from them!) For our family, the bunk beds in the bedroom made this a perfect fit. We did not have to have our children sleep on a cot or air mattress for 2 weeks straight. There is ample room even with the bed and other furniture in the room. Even though the cottage is close to the road it works well even with young children because there is a rock wall that surrounds it. My kids loved running around the house or looking for the chickens wandering outside and with the many windows if I was inside for a few minutes I could always see them. The table out back was perfect for breakfast. We really did utilize all that the cottage and it's location had to offer. Our only suggestion would be to put a queen bed in the bedroom rather than a full size. My husband and I are both really tall so that is our only suggestion. Everything else was perfect, we plan to return next summer!

Just perfect!

Just a wonderful stay in this perfectly located property! Darlene, her husband, and girls were so kind. The fresh eggs from her chickens and milk in the fridge were such a nice touch. The cottage is walking distance to downtown Rockport and my favorite hidden gem beach, Old Garden. We throughly enjoyed our stay and plan on returning again next summer!!!

We have owned this property since 1999 when our twin daughters were just months old. My husband is an artist and architect and I am a retired teacher. Our main house is on the property as well and I enjoy working in the gardens during the summer months.

The cottage is a walk to Old Garden Beach and a short walk to downtown Rockport. We are located near the school with tennis courts, basketball court, a track, and a large playground.
