We’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We always want our guests to have a great experience and take concerns seriously. For clarity, we did not receive any communication about these concerns during your stay, nor were we given the opportunity to address them before your departure. Once the concerns were brought to our attention, we promptly offered to have our cleaning team return to take care of anything needing attention. The cottage is accurately listed with sleeping arrangements that include a sleeper sofa/loveseat option, which is disclosed in the listing details and photos. Many families have comfortably stayed in the home using this setup. The home had been professionally cleaned and inspected prior to check-in, and this is the first complaint we have received of this nature. As a cottage in a wooded/lake area, occasional insects can unfortunately appear despite regular pest monitoring and cleaning efforts. We also maintain the property and outdoor spaces regularly, though summer weather in Michigan can naturally bring mosquitoes outdoors near grassy and lake areas. We genuinely care about providing a clean and comfortable stay for our guests, and we’re grateful that the overwhelming majority of our reviews reflect positive experiences and accurate expectations of the property.
