House was next to beach which was perfect. Only negative was that I thought for a beach house it could has some more amenities (beach chairs and towels, for example). But it was a great stay.

Nice home but alot of things in the house were broken deck furniture was damaged the house made me uncomfortable because I felt like I was going to get charge for the stuff that broken so i made everyone stay outside till i photosed eveything.

First the positives, the house is the perfect location on the island you can not beat the views. The house is large with plenty of room, and was clean. The exception was the roach problem, it was terrible. Other issues was the lights out front did not work, the small solar lights attached to the steps and the two at the top of the stairs did not work, which creates a safety hazard.The ice maker still doesnt work, and I received no reply in regard to that issue, which was our first, so why bother with any other. There was a vacumn in the closet full of trash, and a cut cord, useless. The mattress in the master was covered with an oversized foam topper which made it very uncomfortable and the pillows were no better. We were given one gate key which was completely inadequate with four adults leaving to fish, bike ride, etc. Also why bother at all with gate passes as two cars pulled in by the house in the cul-de-sac two women and a child got out preceded under the house down the "private" dune walk to the beach. This was disturbing as we had expensive fishing gear, electric bikes etc under the house. I am going to assume they work for a vacation rental, they had a gate pass, apparently did not live in the community and on the day of check out one of the cars kept driving in and out of the gate/neighborhood slowly, perhaps waiting us to leave. I should learn to read reviews beforehand as a few of these issues has been mentioned before, but apparently never addressed.

Beautiful beach front but not so much beautiful house!

The beach and the view were nice but the house needs a lot of work and attention. Dark brown stains on the curtains in the bunk room and bunk beds falling apart.carpet by the bathroom in the master bedroom ripped up, railing going upstairs loose, two lounge chairs on the back deck broken and falling apart, toilet paper holder in upstairs bathroom broken, the refrigerator is missing the shelves on the door, ice maker doesn’t work and the refrigerator is too small for more than 6 people for a week stay, lights in half the house not working as well as the outside lights, kitchen drawer by refrigerator broken, electrical outlet in upstairs bedroom hanging out and too top it off cockroaches all over the kitchen. Also it says private beach access for the house, but it’s a shared access between 4 houses and they all walk right underneath the house between 6:00 am and 12:00 pm so you have no privacy at all! Waiting on a refund and Will definitely not be staying with Vacasa again!

Stay for the Location

The location is what you see is what you get. Take the walk way to the beach or you can enjoy the view from the spacious covered back deck. The view of the beach and location is amazing. This is a private community and access to the beach seems to be limited to owners and guests which made us feel like we had the beach to ourselves, a change from OB and GS which is where we typically stay. WIFI and cell reception is hit and miss, but that has little to do with the house just an FYI for future guests. The house needs TLC. As stated in previous post, lights bulbs are missing in bedrooms upstairs and front exterior lighting is poor so be careful if your walking around the front of the house or up the front stairs, bring a flashlight. The exterior doors do not like to shut closed especially the front door and when they do there are gaps in the door frames. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials, but if you plan on cooking large meals plan ahead. The bathrooms were clean and the large soaking tub in the master bed room was a nice surprise. During our stay the upstairs AC went out. For the last three days of our trip the upstairs portion of the house was unusable and the downstairs unit did everything it could to help compensate for the excess heat. VACASA Management were easy to work with and responsive during our stay but post check out we found it difficult. They had an HVAC company on site the first day of the outage and they ultimately ended up replacing the upstairs unit on the last day of our vacation which was welcomed, but an inconvenience, it took over 12 hours to replace. Overall our visit to the island was exactly what we wanted, unplugged, relaxing and memorable. The house needs some work, but for being a rental it worked.

We will be back

We have had a wonderful time. There was not any dish detergent which is the only reason I rates 4 stars in one place! We were pleased with our stay and are happy to book again next year as well as share our experience.
