This review skips over the real reason the stay ended. The guest showed up with a lot of alcohol and was clearly very intoxicated on the first night. His behavior was loud, disruptive, and made others around the property uncomfortable. We made the decision to end the reservation early. He didn’t leave by choice — he was asked to go. The unit is exactly as listed. It’s cleaned before every stay and matches the photos. Reviews like this usually come from guests who are upset about being held accountable, not from genuine issues with the space.

We’re genuinely sorry this guest didn’t enjoy their stay, though we must set the record straight for future travelers. First, our location has never been listed as Dean and Nostrand—we’re in the Utica/Empire corridor of Crown Heights and have been transparent about that on both the map and listing details from day one. We understand it can be frustrating to discover you misread the map, but that’s not on us. Next, our check-in is handled via HappyGuest, a third-party platform used by thousands of hosts. This guest was provided full instructions before arrival but didn’t follow them, then tried to check in hours early before the system activated. When they reached out, we responded immediately and our assistant gave them manual entry access within minutes. As for the gas smell: our assistant came promptly, conducted an inspection, and followed up again with a second check. There was no leak, no hazard, and no further issue reported. If they truly believed there was a dangerous situation, calling 311 would have been the right and safe choice—but instead, they stayed the full week with no further complaint. That says more than the review does. We pride ourselves on hosting guests from around the world with care and professionalism. Unfortunately, not every stay is the right fit—especially when expectations are based on assumptions rather than facts. We welcome respectful, communicative guests who value a clean, safe, well-priced home in a prime Brooklyn location.
