Lonely situated traditional villa with 1000 m2 in level arranged tree-planted garden with exceptional view to the sea and nearby village 'Dilinata' and area. Two-levelled housing with separate external approach: each level one bedroom-suite with own shower WC room (large convenient). Kitchen dining room upstairs.Each level with private terraces.On the thrid level down to the garden (out of six levels) free shaped private pool (-1,10 up to -1,80) not children safe, with a big sofa, sunbeds and table under the shade. The newly built kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery dishes etc. electrical stove and grill, microwave, coffee machine, water kettle,dishwasher. TV with SAT (Hotbird) installation. Private parking under shade. Seaside equipment, baby cot, washing machine. The location of the village is very quiet without any noise of cars etc. In 10 minutes car driving away from the capital town Argostoli (ATM and super markets) , or the nearest beach Makris Gialos or Platis Gialos. Perfect relaxing place for family (children over 4 years old) or two couples.

Beautiful, private Villa

A great property, in a lovely setting with a wonderful pool. Could not have wished for a nicer place to stay😎 Worth noting that the two bedrooms are separated from each other- almost independently. Worked brilliantly for us- may be a consideration for family with younger children.

Can’t wait to return!

This is our third stay in this house and it certainly won’t be our last! I’ve written one review already so won’t repeat myself but every time we visit, we love it more and more. The property is super clean and has everything we need. The peaceful village location is just perfect and the owners, Roxane and Savvas, have taken such care and are so thoughtful. Thank you again, it was a wonderful holiday.

Fabulous place for a relaxing holiday

Just back from a fantastic break at this gorgeous villa. The accommodation is split over 2 levels with the verandah overlooking the amazing views providing a place to eat and relax in the evenings. The main bedroom is on the floor below and huge! Every room is beautifully decorated and quite ‘off the wall’ There are delights everywhere with some very quirky additions. The pool area is everything you’d hope for, including a poolside fridge. The location is perfect, the very end of the village with no one close by. Roxanne was friendly and helpful and an excellent host. We would highly recommend staying here and certainly will look to do so again!

Perfect except for the concrete beds!

I love this location, villa and everything about this holiday with one notable exception. All the beds are composed of a slab of concrete with a mattress on top. As I am perhaps taller and heavier than an average Greek person, but by no means larger than many western europeans, I am happy with a firm bed, but it needs to support and not just be hard. Even putting one mattress on top of another was little help as the mattresses seemed to be merely hard and not to the standard I am used to. Hence trying to sleep was near to impossible! I have not encountered this problem on my previous four visits to Kefalonia nor when visiting other parts of Greece. For us, this is such a shame as we would love to return but with 14 nights of very poor sleep, I think that this is very unlikely. We thank you for your kindnesses and that of your housekeeper(s). Your villa and location were perfect in every way except for this one vital ingredient. I am sorry to only give two stars but beds and sleeping comfortably are such a vital part of any holiday. Please do let us know if you ever resolve this issue as we would love to return.

Paradiso it is!

Our third visit to Kefalonia, but our first stay at this beautiful house; clean, comfortable, with lovely garden and pool terraces and amazing views. It does not disappoint! We found the layout and location perfect. We were two couples (active sixties) and for us the house layout was perfect. Those in the upper bedroom having easy access to the verandah and, when a bit of 'space' required, those in the lower bedroom having direct access to the garden terrace. Argostoli with its fish, meat, fruit and veg markets is only 15 minutes drive away and, after returning 'home' with our purchases, we enjoyed several BBQs on the verandah - a perfect place for all meals, especially breakfast when often the only sound is the tinkling bells of the local goats. Our stay co-incided with the full moon and on that evening it was amazing to watch it appearing from behind the mountains and to be able to view it through the telescope. Asteras Taverna, in Davgata, had only just re-opened after refurbishment and has yet to build up a clientele; hence a limited menu. But it is worth going for the view across Argostoli to the Lixouri peninsula and to watch the local goat herds meandering along the hillside tracks. Always welcoming, if you call in the day before and let them know what you would like, they will do their best to cook it for you the following day. Also, take time to drive (or mountain bike if you are fitter than us) to the church on the hillside just through Dilinata (you can see it from the verandah). The view is lovely and you can also appreciate the fantastic location of Il Suo Paradiso. We took an excellent boat trip from Sami to Ithaka on the Sami Star. With stops to swim in a beautiful bay and time for coffee/lunch in Vathi and Kioni. We revisited Agios Gerasimos near Valsamata and on this occasion were fortunate enough to find the church open. It is breathtaking inside. Nearby is the Robola Producers Co-operative - visit for wine tasting. We also walked to the old village of Valsamata, destroyed in the 1953 earthquake. Very moving to see the remains of the houses, cobbled streets and church. If time permits, visit the Koros Taverna on the way back to the Sami road. Try the home-made Robola wine, and buy some to take away (in a plastic bottle). Good value and it's excellent. Kefalonia has lots of beautiful places to visit, but allow plenty of time to enjoy all that Il Suo Paradiso has to offer. Thankyou Roxanne!

Perfect stay!

The villa is even better in real life than what we imagined from the pictures! We stayed 10 nights in August and had a fabulous holiday! Family of 4, our sons (19 and 17 years old) enjoyed the pool, basketball and bikes when we weren’t out and about. Kitchen well equipped and Nespresso machine a bonus, very clean (housekeeper changed bed linen and towels half way through our stay), overall really comfortable and lots of little touches and details that really make a difference! We liked the fact that the bedrooms were on two separate floors with their own bathrooms. The view from the villa is stunning, very peaceful village and all you can hear is the sound of the crickets! Great location for exploring the island! Argostoli only 15 minutes drive with many good restaurants and all the best beaches up to an hour drive! (picture perfect Myrtos 35 mins, Antisamos 45 mins, Fiskardo 1 hour, Poros and Skala just over an hour). Best beaches with crystal clear sea for snorkelling: Antisamos, Pessada and Makris Gialos! Favourite restaurant Milos Taverna in Farsa, about 15 mins drive from the villa with traditional homemade food and a lovely sea view! Highly recommended: Fiskardo, a cruise with Lady O in Argostoli (www.kefaloniacruise.com) and Melissani Cave! Thanks for having us, we would certainly return! Kapadia family from Bedfordshire

Real Vacation!

This is just a great place! The villa, the surroundings the calm and the peace you find there create enormous feelings of vacation and recovery. The pool is perfect and the few stairs that you have to master even look after your fitness. The villa is perfectly clean and equipped with everything you might need. Only remark I would make here is that some information regarding instructions of use for the washing machine, shopping and maybe some restaurant recommendations would be helpful. We did try the local taverna in Davgata, but as they only had about one third of their menu card available, it wasn't worth it. Best place we found in Argostoli was Palia Plake, with some real Greek dishes. The distant Roxane is a perfect host over the telephone. Her generosity wrt check-out was greatly appreciated. Overall a fantastic vacation!

Peaceful and Relaxing

From the moment we stepped onto the top terrace, we knew we were in for a fabulous holiday. The property and the garden are very well kept, well maintained and spotlessly clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. The pool is lovely and the views from the pool area and terraces are beautiful. You will need a hire car to get around but it's easy to get everywhere! We stayed for 1 week but should have booked longer just to have more time at this amazing villa. Watching the light fade at the end of the day whilst sitting in the hammock with a glass of wine will be my lasting memory! Looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely place

We rented this beautiful house at the end of the season, so a few very forgivable little issues with things not quite working as they should. The house in on two layers, large bedroom, with the biggest bed I have ever slept in, with bathroom on the lower deck. Kitchen/Diner, bedroom with twin beds and bathroom on the upper. No internal staircase so if you are travelling with kids this may be an issue. The doors to lower bedroom and front door both slam lock, so keeping track of your keys is important! would be a great idea to have spares in each location so if the worst happens then you don't have to call a lock smith! The pool is great but would benefit from a cover late in season just to keep the heat in. The kitchen is the best equipped we have come across on our many rents, you can easily cook up family meals here. Roxanne has to be the most attentive host, we never actually saw her but had phone calls to the house to make sure we were OK, during our stay we caught a little hurricane and thunder storms, all very exciting when you are this far up in the hills. The garden sustained a bit of damage, but gardener and pool maintenance were in attendance as soon as it passed to make sure we retained the benefit of the lovely garden and pool area. We highly recommend this house if you are looking for a quiet out of the way place. Restaurants and night life are all a drive away, one little Taverna in the village run by Alice and her family, they had just moved in in September 2018, food very basic but kind and friendly people as where the locals. Food in general was a bit of a disappointment on the Island, big places in Argostilli that I am sure many people will like, but they do know how to charge (£5 for half a Peroni, thought I had been robbed!). Here you can find Italian, Chinese even Sushi, but good Greek food is hard to find. We did find a very honest little Teverna run by Popi & Kosta called Milos in Farsa, doesn't look much from the outside but boy what a view, Kosta cooks well and entertains with his old traditional instruments, not in an annoying way in your face, just sits and plays a bit now and then. On one visit there was a young local family in, dad & daughter danced traditional dance while Kosta played, really nice to see, not a show, just local people enjoying and behaving naturally. Thank you all for a lovely holiday.

Family holiday

Fantastic week on our first stay on the island. House excellent, lovely pool and views of the valley. The house was really well equipped, the terrace and sitting areas were also excellent. A big space and garden for four people, not overlooked, really private, very quiet. Only downside we found that there was the Restaurant in the village was not great and so we did not eat there. Hence if you want to go out you need to drive down to Argostoli. We parked at the bottom and walked across the bridge into town. Would recommend this property.

Nice property inside and out.

We had a great stay with our two children at Il Suo Paradiso. It is well equipped, beautifully decorated and has a great garden and swimming pool with lots of outdoor space. It is located in a quiet village, very peaceful with a really nice view of the valley but close to Argostoli and well located for traveling around Kefalonia. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to a family looking for a base for seeing the island and for relaxing and enjoying some quality time in a really nice property.

Beautiful Villa!

We spent a week in this amazing villa. Everything you could possibly need is there. We had a fantastic time during our stay and Roxane was so helpful and considerate. The views from the villa are breathtaking and the overall care and upkeep of the villa, pool and the gardens was fabulous. Villa very clean, stylish and decorated to high standards and set in a private location with the sounds of nature and the goat bells. Looking forward very much to going back!

Fabulous, Relaxing Holiday

My husband and I have just had the most amazing week at il suo Paradiso, we were looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay, with privacy and a quiet area, that’s exactly what we had at this villa, we loved everything, and particularly the super pool where we spent hours, with just the bells on the local goats as a background noise, perfect! We slept really well, and enjoyed sitting on either of the verandas in the evening, playing cards and chatting, I loved getting up in the morning and sitting having my morning coffee and looking at the wonderful views. The villa itself is very well equipped, and Roxane was quick to answer any questions and it was lovely that she called us when we arrived with additional information and tips, and the housekeeper kalimoria and her lovely daughter came and cleaned the house half way through our stay, beds changed, floors mopped, dishwasher emptied, all was really appreciated! So to summarize, we loved our stay, and left feeling very relaxed and rested, and we will definitely be booking again.

Paradies für die Seele

Lovely Villa in Wonderful Location

If you are looking for a relaxing break this is the ideal location. The villa is approached through a small friendly village and affords total privacy. The view across the valley is breathtaking and it is worth staying at the villa for this alone. The villa has everything that you would need, the pool is excellent and the garden is so well looked after with a large number of trees laden with fruit. The location is excellent just a 10 minute drive to Argostoli - where you can park this side of the lake and walk across into the town, the sunset is lovely. In essence you can have both worlds, the feeling of being in a remote village with the privacy that it provides but also access to the largest town. We stayed with our our two teenage children and had a lovely stay - the Wifi kept them in touch with the outside world so all was good. We have stayed in a number of villa'a across Europe and I would say that this is most definitely one of the best that we have stayed in and I would recommend a stay here.

Paradiso Indeed

As I write this we still have 2 days to go on this wonderful holiday. I’m sitting on the terrace listening to the birds and the sound of goat bells down in the valley below. This place is truly a paradise. It’s difficult to know what to say that hasn’t been said before. This isn’t a holiday home, it’s a home from home on holiday. It’s so well equipped and beautifully designed. Everything you might need is here, down to coffee and filters, basic kitchen essentials such as oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, herbs - this list goes on. The bedroom is huge (as is the bed!) and lovely fluffy towels are provided. All you need to bring are your own beach towels. The garden is beautifully landscaped with plenty of trees to lie under if you want some shade. If you want the sun well your own private pool is waiting invitingly. And who thought of putting a small fridge by the pool? A touch of genius saving you having to go up to the house for that essential cold drink. We took our meals out on the terrace while watching the shadows lengthen across the valley and seeing the lights in the hillside villages go on in the evenings. There is a good barbecue although you will need to buy your own charcoal and lighters (we got ours in the well stocked AB supermarket just outside Argostoli). It has been difficult to tear ourselves away from such a lovely spot but of course the island is waiting to be explored. We hired a car (absolutely essential) from Pefannis car hire at the airport. They are good and helpful and quite reasonable, especially if you offer to pay cash! We’ve explored remote beaches (Petani, Myrtos and Porto Asteras are our favourites) and coastal villages (Assos and Sami are recommended) and have seen much of the island while criss crossing it. In the house are beach umbrellas and folding beach chairs and an insulated bag which are all very useful when spending a day on the beach. But of course much of the credit for such a lovely holiday goes to Roxanne. Although she lives away from Kefalonia it feels as if she is there looking out for you. Before we came she would answer any questions very promptly and once we’d arrived she would phone up from time to time to check if everything was alright (it was) and if we needed anything (we didn’t). The house was cleaned and the linen changed every 4 days or so and is a credit to Roxanne and the cleaning lady. All in all this has to be the best place we have stayed in while on holiday. Wohlfühloase

Das Ferienhaus "il suo paradiso" hat diese Bezeichnung wahrlich verdient. Man fühlt sich in Haus und Garten wie im Paradies. Das Haus wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Vom ersten Augenblick an haben wir uns äußerst wohl gefühlt. Wäre die Insel nicht so wunderschön, um erkundet zu werden, hätten wir uns am liebsten den ganzen Tag im Haus aufgehalten. Wenn man die Ruhe sucht und sich nicht davon abschrecken lässt eine kurze Anfahrtzeit zu den Stränden und Sehenswürdigkeiten in Kauf zu nehmen ist dies absolut der richtige Platz.

Simply Stunning

This property is by far the best we have ever stayed at in Kefalonia (and I've been visiting there since I was 10 years old)! When we arrived, the beauty of the place actually brought me to tears, I was in awe of the place! The beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and every little detail of this house were just perfect. It is truly a home, rather than just a villa and you can tell it's been built and decorated with such love and attention to detail that you want to take care of it too! The house is split over 2 levels and it is incredibly spacious. Not to mention how beautiful the gardens are, it is all so private there and it's a lovely place to watch the birds and other wildlife too. Roxane cannot do enough for you, from answering any pre-departure questions to checking that you are OK on arrival. We were met at the house by Kalomoira who handed us the keys and took us through the house, she also did a thorough (and I mean very thorough) clean of the whole house during our stay and worked so hard. Roxane even provided beach umbrellas so we borrowed one and took ourselves off to one of the many gorgeous beaches on the island, we had the whole beach to ourselves, would highly recommend the village of Zola and beach Aghia Kyriaki. Please bring your own beach towels though for the beach. So many things have been thought of in this house, you really couldn't want for anything more! Davgata is such a pretty village, there is one taverna called Asteras just a few minutes walk away and the owners are so friendly. They don't have a full menu but it's a great choice if you don't want to drive anywhere or don't want to cook. I would have loved a Kefalonia Meat Pie at some point, maybe next year! The location really suited us just right, up in the hills with the goats, sheep and cows, it was just so perfect. Yet you are only a 15 minute drive to Argostoli to get main supplies or our favourite little souvlakia place in Peratata and other local shops are not far at all. It is a great place to practice your Greek too, I love giving it a go even though I'm very slow at it, you do feel that being in a village you can practice it more than being in just one of the resorts and it gave me more confidence to try more and stop being worried about making a fool of myself! This really is a wonderful property and Kefalonia will be in our hearts forever, no matter what. Thank you Roxane, Savvas and to Kalomoira, see you next June!

Fabulous!!!

The property is really well maintained and very pretty, in a quiet area immersed in nature. The pictures cannot show the true beauty and size of the property and grounds. We had the best holiday imaginable at Il Suo Paradiso. A truly stunning setting. We all loved the pool. Such a beautiful place. The Villa is furnished to a high standard, very clean and well equipped (like home). We had a marvellous time during our two weeks. We rented a car (essential) in order to get around - to go shopping and go for dinners, and to see the island. However, the place is so nice you really don't want to go anywhere. Davgata, does have a lovely taverna. With excellent food and beautiful views and just five minutes stroll from the villa. Alice, our house keeper was very efficient - she did an excellent job. Roxane, the owner - what an incredibly nice lady! She phoned us regularly to check we had everything we needed, she was on the Greek mainland but she never let us feel that anything was too much trouble - Thank you dear Roxane! In a word, we highly recommend this property.

Villa idéale dans un environnement préserve

La description pourrait être longue des charmes et atouts de cette location ou nous avons passe quinze jours de rêve. Tout d'abord l'emplacement : en plein centre de l'île, rien n'est a plus d'une heure ce qui est un vrai atout sur un territoire montagneux comme Cephalonie. Par ailleurs Argostolion est a 10 minutes ce qui est idéal pour les courses ou les sorties nocturnes. La maison elle même est bien conçue avec notamment l'immense terrasse couverte au niveau principal qui est le vrai lieu de vie. Cuisine impeccable avec toutes les machines et ustensiles. Les deux chambres sont bien aménagées et la suite parentale du bas est immense. Restent le jardin et la vue (y compris sur la mer ce que l'on ne devine pas sur les photos du site). Mon activité préférée était de me mettre a l'ombre d'un des arbres pour lire après la piscine. Bref, a recommander sans hésiter.

Couldn't have wished for more

I still daydream about this place and we've been back two weeks already. I felt very close to nature here. We are a family of four with two teenage children and they were happy in and out of the pool or on their ipads/phones (there is a good wifi connection in the house and on the verandah). At night we had nightjars diving into the pool for a drink, bats flying around and could hear the hooting of Scops Owls. By day we could hear the goats wondering around with their bells, not to mention the cicadas which are extremely loud! The house is excellently equipped with everything you would need and has a basic stock of salt, pepper etc. The lovely housekeeper Alice comes every couple of days to water the plants and gives you clean towels (you don't need to take your own, you get three each) plus you get a change of bedding during the week. You wouldn't know Alice was there as she is very discreet and quick (but also very friendly). The pool cleaner also comes once a week. There is a basic taverna in the village which we ate at once. Apart from the fantastic fresh Greek salad there wasn't any traditional Greek food available the day we went there, or fish, just meat and potatoes, but they were very nice and cheap. I would recommend if you fancy a night off cooking and driving. Otherwise we had a couple of bbq's at the house and ate out - prices are reasonable. Argostoli is only 10-15 minutes away and you can get all you need there supplies wise and I would recommend you go and see the turtles in the harbour, they're fantastic! This house is owned by someone who wants you to have a good holiday. Roxanne is easy to contact and will sort any queries or problems out instantly, and the housekeeper Alice is wonderful. The people in Kefalonia were very friendly and giving and never once did we feel we were annoying by asking directions or for information. The roads aren't great to drive on, and the maps we could get hold of were very basic and didn't signpost roads that were now closed, or recently built. Sami is worth a visit, as is Fiskardo (more expensive than anywhere else we visited) and Myrtos Bay beach is beautiful. I'm not one to say I want to return somewhere as I like to try new places all the time - but we may well make an exception this time as this house is perfect and I really liked the Greek people.

MAGICAL PLACE OF GREAT BEAUTY

It was a privilege to experience all on offer at 'Suo Paradiso' created with care and attention to detail by the owners (Roxane and her husband Savvas) with the support of their housekeeper Alice. Greatly enjoyed early morning walks with breathtaking scenery from the villa up to Dillinate. Dinner at Asteras Taverna in Davgata - contrasting with all that Argostoli has to offer - ferry over to Lassi and touring the island with incredible views around each corner. The people on this island are warm and giving, taking a pride in what they offer the tourist.

'Il Suo Paradiso' is really a paradise of relaxation... It combines the beautiful endless views with nature sounds, which everyone needs in order to relax from the hectic ways of living. Apart from the actual beauty it also has a connection to previous generations, as passed down to us, reminding us our bonds to Kefalonia.
