Wonderful, gorgeous location!

If you are seeking seclusion from busier sides of the island and interested in the Rum Point/Northside area of the island, you should consider this rental. The snorkeling out the front door was great! We enjoyed spending time at nearby Rum Point, but also ventured all around the island and hit many snorkel spots. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and you absolutely cannot beat the view!

Cayman Beach Vacation

While this is not the best swimming area, the beach itself was nice. For swimming or simply being in the water, Rum Point Beach is 3 minutes away. There are plenty of chairs on a beautiful beach with bars and food, if you are so inclined. I advise getting there before 10.The place had a comfortable bed, warm water, and an adequate beginner kitchen. We never cooked there.You will want a rental car. There are a number of good north and east end food options. Seven Mile Public Beach is only 57 minutes away with good parking in the morning. I also highly recommend a visit to Cayman Spirits where there is a great tour and tasting.

Thanksgiving Week Stay

Enjoyed staying in this condo for our second week on island. Enjoyed the secluded location in Cayman Kai. The limited number of other guests staying in area meant we had beach to ourselves. Strong north wind diminished the quality of beach enjoyment. Snorkeling in front of condo was okay, there are better snorkeling spots around island. Condo was clean and comfortable for a couple. Enjoyed eating meals and morning coffee on screened porch.

Right on the water

The home was decorated beautifully. Very comfortable. Terrific views of the ocean from all rooms. Unfortunately we had to fly back home 3 days in due to the fact that we were in the path of Hurricane Beryl. Property Manager Sissy always responded quickly.

Amazing location on beach

Being able to swim off our beach and snorkel one of the best sites on Grand Cayman was awesome! It was an added bonus to have a wonderful screened in porch, a washer/dryer, small kitchen, and comfy king-sized bed. Perfect-sized condo for a couple! Loved the area and quietness of this part of the island. Rum Point and Kaibo became favorite spots since they were minutes from the condo. Would come again in a second.

Quiet and peaceful

Perfect location for a quiet beach. The beach has a lot of seaweed and rocks. Not as much snorkeling as expected.

Wonderful!

Overall this was a wonderful place to stay and was clean and bright. Only disappointment was kitchen which was very small space and cluttered with small appliances, ( some of which could use updating—toaster only toasted one side, coffee maker buttons didn’t light up so had to figure out which did what, garbage container wedged between table and wall and large fire extinguisher right above it. So, not much usable space for any kind of cooking. Not unusual for small rentals but somewhat disappointing for an otherwise great place. Still gave it five stars due to location, screened in porch, and comfortable bed! Would stay again.

Beautiful View

The front porch has an insulated roof and is covered by screens and has a wonderful view of the ocean. We spent many hours each day using it. We also went snorkeling right out front of the property most days. Often, it is quite windy on this side of the island so we drove to Spots Beach two days to snorkel and saw a sea turtle. Overall, a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

Best relaxing vacation ever

If you want to relax, this is the place! Beach is just steps away from the cottage with lounge chairs and shade provided. We could snorkel right from our cottage and there are many other beaches nearby to explore. Cottage had everything we needed and was impeccably clean. The view of the ocean was awesome. Only problem was that the air conditioning didn’t work efficiently. Having a car is a must. Tukka and Over the Edge restaurants were great and just minutes away, as were grocery stores. The Botanical Gardens and Crystal Caves were right down the road and worth seeing. You will leave decompressed.

Anniversary Trip

We stayed here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was the perfect location. Quiet and out of the way was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoy snorkeling and triec every recommend area on ALL sides of the island ,only to return to our own " back yard" for the best snorkeling available on the entire island. The villa was clean, appointed with everything needed and we could not have been more pleased. My one and only complaint was the bed mattress needs to be e replaced. It is getting very saggy and that made it hard for me to sleep. If not for that one thing it would have been perfect.

40th Anniversary Celebration

The cottage was clean and in a quiet part of the island, which was close to Rom Point, starfish point, the crystal caves and an easy ride to other parts of the island. It was very windy while we were there, so we were not able to snorkel outside the cottage because of the waves, but we found easier snorkeling close by at Rum Point. Since we saw several references to “drift snorkeling “ from #17 to Rum Point though, it seems like even though the waves might not always be such a challenge, the current might make it more of an experienced snorkeling area? We rented a car for the whole time we were there and that is really the only way to do it if you are staying on the north side. It allowed us to easily get to and from the cottage and to explore the rest of the island. Overall, the cottage was accurately represented and a great place to stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Be by the sea. Stay by the sea go in the sea! When we travel location and the mattress are paramount. This was just perfect ! Our time at Cayman Kai was like being on a tranquil deserted island. Many days we didn’t see anyone else on the beach. But there is much to get out and do and explore! We will definitely be rebooking this unit that is practically on the beach.

Perfect place

Sealodges 17 is the perfect place for a couple to avoid the crowds and the hustle and bustle of the west side of the island. If you're looking for a simple, no frills, quiet place to relax on the ocean front, this is the place!

Peaceful ocean view

We really loved this place! It was so relaxing to sit on the screened in patio and listen to the sound of the ocean, which is maybe 60 feet away. Everything we needed was here. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us.

Perfect getaway

Perfect location to enjoy Grand Cayman! Loved sitting on the screened porch - very comfortable from sun up to sun down. Mostly had the beach to ourselves. Great snorkeling just out back.
