The house was clean, the pool was warmed to a good temperature with the heater. I do wish more linens were provided (more than 1 washcloth per bathroom, a throw blanket for the living area), but overall, enjoyable stay.

Wedding stay

The place was very clean and comfortable for the seven of us. My complaint is that the pillows were too soft and flat and do need to be changed out.

Stay June 2024

Villa had been upgraded, some equipment minimal like towels etc and kitchen equipment, but overall clean and comfortable. Some minor repairs needing done which we reported on arrival to mgmt company a few blind vanes broken. Pool pump next door was very noisy as per previous reviews and got worse , we got minimal support from mgmt company with this, ( but I guess its not their area ), however after we had formally complained to HMO ourselves via email ( it was running 24/7) it appeared to be replaced , a few days before we left in June 24. Air con had broken down due to storm when we were there but mgmt company had that fixed very promptly, within the day from us highlighting issue.

Convenient and Spotless

This is a beautiful property located on one of SOUTHERN DUNES fairways. The place was absolutely spotless with vaulted ceilings, a well appointed kitchen and spacious bathrooms. TV service was all steaming so we could use our own accounts at Netflix, Prime, and Hulu. There are plenty more to choose from. I had a problem with the remote to the ceiling fan/ light in the master bedroom. Horizon had someone out the day I called to fix it. We had a terrific 10 day stay, and will definitely be back.

Beautiful golf course view home-bad mgmt co

I feel compelled to do this review because im hoping it reaches the owner of the property. The property itself was beautiful. Beds are comfortable. And they thought of everything for the kitchen. Cleanliness was great. Golf course view was amazing.The heating and air is a bit off. Its very hot upstairs and very cold downstairs. And the air cant be turned down past 70. I read in the reviews prior to coming that the pool filter next door was loud and makes it impossible to sit at the table outside. I wasnt sure i would care about that so i didnt take much stock in that review. But i agree. Its so loud and runs 24/7, having a meal or conversation at the outside table is impossible. On to the management company. horizon vacations. Before my actual stay i had trouble getting responses back to my questions. They never answered most of them and i had to call. They charged the wrong cc after multiple messages and calls to have that switched. I expressed my concerns that if this is there communication what will happen if i have a problem while on property. I had a few things i needed addressed while there and they again never answered or took days to respond. All the paperwork for the pool heat states it runs from 8a-8p. it didnt turn on until 11 everyday. I am an early riser so that matters to me. They charged me $30 for missing towels that i did not take. I have proof of all my unanswered messages (which were standard questions)

Rocky Start

We booked this house with little notice as we were coming for a death in our family. On day one we noticed several things that weren’t what we expected. After a call to to the house management, and a visit to make things right we were completely satisfied. Things happen and this company went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

Last minute trip

Overall a great property right on the golf course and very close to the front entrance for easy in and out access. The property has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. I would only say that when it’s cold and you pay to hear the pool that there should be a cover to help keep that heat in overnight. The house inside is a little dated but it didn’t matter we still had a great experience. Easy to work with online. We had a little issue and it was resolved within 24 hours. I’ve stayed at southern dunes many times over the years and I would definitely pick this rental to use again.

Noise

The neighbor's air conditioner made it impossible to sit outside in the pool enclosure. It ran 24/7 regardless of the temperature outside and is situated right beside the seating area. I sat on the other side of the pool area, but it was still loud. Nothing can really be done about this.

Better cleaning and sanitation

Cleaning staff still working on house till 5:05pm when check in was at 4:00pm. Have to call manager property about a fly infection inside and around the house cuz they didn’t clean garbage can right. Pool dirty and low in chlorine. And I send pictures of everything.

Property was very nice. It being a two story home and with toddlers was challenging at times. No where upon booking did it state it was a two-story home. Kept us on our toes!! :)

Better the second time

We stayed in this house last year and again this year. It's perfect for us. This time was more relaxed because we were familiar with the house, local area and golf course. Expect we'll stay there again next year. Communication with the management company is excellent, fast, responsive and always helpful. The house is in very good condition, very clean, well stocked (linens, towels kitchen etc.), and all appliances, tv etc worked well. The Southern Dunes golf course, and personnel are outstanding and the security of being in a gated community is reassuring.

Overall wonderful rental!

The only negative things I would have to say about this house was there was no extras. No extra toilet paper, only 2 dishwasher tabs for a family of 8 and a 4 night stay- and no dish soap... no napkins or paper towels. Plan to buy absolutely EVERYTHING... even trash bags! We were given one additional garbage bag for our 4 night stay. Fortunately my mom & dad live down there & they brought a few items. Anything I had left I sent home with my parents. I have stayed in other VRBO rentals but in different areas of US. Also, upon leaving they ask you to start a load of laundry, but there is NO laundry soap... Positive... the pool heat is a must if you are staying in winter months! We stayed mid December & we would not have used the pool if we didn’t have the pool heat. WORTH the extra money! Our kids loved it! Also there was a pack n play in a closet that we were able to use which made our stay easier with an infant. We were already traveling with stroller & 2 car seats. So we did not want to bring a pack n play too!

Disappointed in bathrooms

The location is great. We was totally disappointed that this home wasn’t a full 3bathroom home as indicated. This is a 2 1/2 bath home. The furniture need to be updated. We had to go buy additional washcloths. But after we make adjustments, we enjoyed our stay.

Quiet and very relaxing.

My overall impression of this property is very nice. It could have been a little cooler. There are blinds missing from the living room, dining room, and master bedroom. It made me a little uncomfortable feeling someone could stand outside and possibly look in. The tile floors have a sticky substance on it and the sticky feeling stuck to your feet. This property only had a couple of little hiccups. I readily give this property 4 stars without any reservations. I would definitely rent this property again.
