Once inside, the apartment was nice and pretty clean. The neighborhood is not good. Most all of the buildings on the block are either boarded up or covered in metal grates. The description made it sound as if we were in walking distance of nice establishments - would not enter any of the places we saw within a mile. There is no where to park unless you get very lucky at the right time of day. Cars in front and behind ours had security locks on steering wheels, etc. Walking a couple blocks back from our car at night we didn't feel safe. We had people in and out of the main entry door the first night in some sort of domestic dispute. The second day we had homeless people sitting out front drinking and asking for money. The property was nice inside, but the neighborhood is not somewhere I would take my family or go alone.

Worked well for our stay! Group of 7 slept very comfortably. Extra blow up mattress (with self inflation) was a nice bonus!

Great property with convenient location! The hosts were incredibly responsive and accommodating. All the rooms were clean & fresh. One note; we had a 7 person, 4 night stay and were only given a couple rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. We ended up having to buy more at the store to get through the last night. Also, plenty of spices and kitchen utensils but we couldn’t find salt or pepper.

Graduation Weekend

We had a great time in Chicago. We brought our children, my parents, my husband’s Mom and both of our sisters to celebrate our son graduating from UChicago Law School. The listing said it slept 10. For us It actually slept 8 and that was still tight. There was an air mattress in the closet that we didn’t use. My son and Dad slept half of each night on the ends of the couch, not pulled out as a bed, due to being so cramped in their beds sharing them. My sister in law and mother in law thankfully had decided to stay in a hotel so we ended up with 8 with us. With only two bathrooms that’s also an issue for 8 people trying to get ready to go anywhere. It’s all doable and the savings of staying in one place versus paying for three hotel rooms for four nights was still worth it. The location was good, we aren’t city people but felt comfortable by the next couple of days in the area, we had a car so we learned about reading the signs like they recommend or you will get a ticket(the owner kindly reimbursed us). I’d love to see more towels, washcloths(there weren’t any until we asked), sheets(there were no top/flat sheets) for that large of a crowd. Seating for that many to hang out at night together needs improvement, maybe add another couch or a sectional. I don’t usually leave reviews but realize how I need them for myself when deciding to stay somewhere. My famous line is you can’t smell a picture, this place didn’t smell bad, was clean, we made the most of the space. Thank you.
The box is on the right hand side wall to put in the code to get inside.
Be sure to screenshot this picture and also make sure you give your uber driver the correct address.
The Chicago Park app/sign to pay to park out front of this place. Also notice the other signs about street cleaning and resident permits.
