Very beautiful spot on the lake, directions were very straight forward to get to and the family were very friendly and nice people as we were greeted very politely, the cabin itself is a good size and very nice inside it was the perfect place to stay for mine and our finances engagement we had a great time! I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the upper peninsula area and I would most definitely come back again when we get a chance to do so!! Excellent!!

Had a wonderful time staying at this cozy cabin. We were in the UP to see the fall foliage and Pictured Rocks. The cabin was in a great location to get to all of things we wanted to do.

The cabin was very clean and well kept. Communication with host was great. We enjoyed Pictured Rock Cruise, tahquamenon falls, sable falls, miners falls. We rode ATVs over 230 miles in two days. We loved our visit to the UP!

We loved our stay at Trails End! Close to town but tucked away in the woods. Perfect! Being part if their "homestead" added to the charm. Loved the sounds of the wind in the trees mingling with the wind chimes on the front porch and the soft klucks and crows our chicken friends. The addition of a small side or coffee table to set drinks on would be helpful. Thank you for your hospitality! We would stay again.

The cabin was hard to find and we ended up having to stop in Grand Marais to ask for directions. Luckily, I found Jen's phone number on her web-site and she gave great directions. Once we found it, we could relax in a very quiet, rustic setting. Everything was neat as a pin! The only think I didn't like was the stairs to the loft. When you get to be my age, you have to get up several times in the night to go to the bathroom and the stairs were pretty steep to navigate in the dark.

Jen and Ed’s cabin is a perfect bit of isolated Northern Beauty, allowing its visitors to explore all that this unique area has to offer. Jen is extremely responsive to any questions, showing integrity and positivity from booking to our departure. We highly recommend this property!

Excellent Family Vacation

Family enjoyed spending time together ! During the day we went on hikes and kayaking at Pictured Rocks NP. At night we made up stories around fire pit and we played card games. Ed and Jenny were born and raised in southeast Michigan. They have been married for 20 years, and have been blessed with four beautiful children, two girls and two boys. Nearly nine short years ago, this wild and free family decided to step out of their city roots and jump into some country boots. Always doing things against the norm, and counting their blessings along the way. This boat loving, city dwelling family, jumped feet first into a life filled with chicken chasing, goat wrangling and child rearing. They were happy, content and indeed blessed – but something was still missing.

Ed, a senior logistics warehouse manager, driving nearly 150 miles a day; Jenny, a work at home marketing director and ESL teacher certainly never ‘planned’ on uprooting all that they have ever known – but, one beautiful week back in June 2018 forever changed the course of their lives. What started off as a typical vacation, ended up being much, MUCH more!

It wasn’t long after the family’s return home, the wheels began to turn; “What if we were to own a family business?” And, so it began.

Ed, Jenny and their four kids proceeded to make a total of twenty trips, drive over 14,000 miles, and spend 230+ hours in the car together in a 16 month span traveling back-in-forth from their home downstate up to Grand Marais, MI.

When the opportunity to purchase Superior Hardware came about, it was as if the ‘light bulb’ finally ‘turned on’. All the months/hours spent traveling, contemplating, planning, prepping, and anguishing was about to culminate into the adventure of a lifetime.

With a plethora of business, building, farm-steading, and home life experience between them, Ed and Jenny quickly realized they very well might have found the ‘perfect fit’. Owning and operating a family hardware store in a small town, made sense for this self-driven, hardworking, community oriented family.

And with that, 'The Irvine Family' is excited to meet, serve and welcome each and every one of you!
