La orilla del río es la casa perfecta para parejas o familias pequeñas que buscan una escapada tranquila. Hay mucho que hacer en la cabina o un trayecto de 15 minutos en coche. La cabina tiene una cocina totalmente equipada, 3 dormitorios (2 completos, 1 queen, 1 completo), 2 baños completos, parrilla de gas, y una terraza cubierta con vistas al río. Hay un pozo de fuego con vistas al río para fogatas por la noche tranquila. Una canoa, kayak 2, y los tubos están también disponibles para la diversión en el río. Preferimos no más de 4 adultos responsables o una familia de 6. Aunque para la mayoría de los huéspedes no es un problema, tenga en cuenta que el patio se inclina hacia el río. La cabaña se encuentra a 5 millas al norte de Luray ya solo un corto trayecto en automóvil del Parque Nacional Shenandoah y del Parque Estatal Andy Guest.

Excellent communication, clean and well maintained property. The house may have been even better than expected from the listing. There was plenty of space, the kitchen was very well stocked and the owners even left extras such as wood for the fire pit, the kayaks, yard games, and a closet full of board games. It’s also a picturesque location right on the Shenandoah river. My family had a wonderful day and I highly recommend this house.

We had an amazing experience this week end, what a wonderful property and most thoughtful hosts. I will definitively go back with my kids. We felt right at home the moment we walked in the house. This rental was solid. No real complaints, listing was accurate. Hosts were communicative and check-in/out was easy. We had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable week-long stay where we did most of our own cooking. That said, if you are looking for a home base to explore the region and park like we were, understand that this location is very isolated. That's not a bad thing at all in itself, it just made it difficult to have much down time at the house while still seeing the sights. There is no coming and going -- once you're out for the day, you're out. Hikes in the park had to be combined with day trips to Luray and Front Royal, since you're staying off the highway right between the two park entrances. Driving an hour or more each day was a huge part of our trip and was very taxing on our kids' energy. The long gravel road to the house presents some logistical and safety challenges as well. Again, no criticisms of the property itself, but it might not be for everyone. I would strongly suggest mapping out detailed driving directions for each outing before booking.

Quiet, restful and relaxing house for my family. Everything was very well stocked, I really didn't need to purchase more than food for meals. Hot cocoa was available for the cool evenings that my kids and I enjoyed immensely. Everything was cozy and comfortable. Great board games for families to play. A very easy vacation!

The house is a great location to stay and do many activities such as skyline drive, luray caverns and rafting. The river is not very deep to swim but anchoring and laying in the tubes was so relaxing and an amazing view. The sunsets were beautiful when walked down to river.

This was our third time staying at Rivers Edge and every time has been fantastic. The house is consistently clean and so well stocked with everything we could possibly need. We love relaxing on the covered deck and the convenience of the river right in the back yard. Our teens love all the indoor and outdoor games that are provided. Jeff and Lori do such a great job of being available and accommodating while also respecting your privacy. This is one of our places to visit when we want a laid back and relaxing vacation.

Peaceful Oasis

We came to the area to explore Shenandoah National Park. The house was very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. The kitchen was well stocked for us to cook each night. The wrap around deck was a perfect coffee spot while watching and listening to the river go by. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We relaxed in the river our last night and reflected on the natural beauty of the area. This quiet secluded home down a shady dirt road was the perfect escape we all needed. We might have listed to a little John Denver as well.

Fun getaway from it all

We enjoyed sitting on the porch and the cooler mountain air. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Unfortunately the river was at too high of a level to enjoy (nothing owner’s could do about that!) but the yard games provided plenty of fun! I would suggest checking river levels before traveling and bringing bug spray (even though there was some in the house too!). Wished we could have enjoyed the kayaks, tubes and canoe provided. Guess we will have to come back!

Great get away

The home was just as it was pictured. Very clean and well kept. Loved the privacy and the river view. The welcome gift left by the owners is a nice gesture to let you know they appreciate you renting their home.

Another great visit

This is our 4 or 5th time here and we love it just as much as the first time. Great property, views, conveniences and more. Plus enjoyed all the outdoor games, and ladder ball was a hit with the kids this time. Also the tubes, canoes, and of course the fire pit. Very clean, and appreciate all the staples and such in the kitchen to make it easy.

We love the quiet and beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. We were fortunate enough to find this property right on the river where we could build our own cabin. Nothing beats having the Shenandoah River right out your front door.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We can swim, fish, and canoe right from the house. Evening campfires overlooking the river are the perfect way to spend an evening after a day in the water. There is plenty to do without leaving the house.
