Welcome to The Quaint Cardiff Hideaway, a newly constructed home that is hidden off a private gravel road in the heart of paradise, Cardiff-By-The-Sea. This home will undoubtedly be the perfect location to stay for a bit or stay for a while! The Hidden House has homed groups on surf adventures, families staying to visit loved ones or on vacation, artists looking for inspiration, professionals serving the community, & groups of friends looking for quality time away from the hustle of daily life.

The Space:
This home is unlike any other in the area for many reasons, but here are a few of the most popular:
Unmatched peace, quiet, and serenity: the only noises you’ll hear are birds chirping, wind chimes ringing, and the occasional car passing on the gravel road

Safe & fun for children and pets: distance from main roads provides peace of mind for parents/pet parents while proximity to parks, skate parks, beaches, botanical gardens, and dog parks provide tons of fun without having to get into a car

Location!!: Cardiff is a tiny surf community that is nestled in stunning North County San Diego. It serves as a complete escape while also providing access to the coast highway, I-5 freeways, beaches, bike trails, and the Pacific Surfliner (train that takes you south to downtown San Diego or as far north as Orange County, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara). Stay for a while and drive to incredible destinations for the weekend like Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, Ojai, Big Bear, Coronado Island and even cross the border to Mexico fur surf and seafood in Baja Mexico!

Walkability: Once you've settled in, there's tons to explore in the surrounding area without ever having to hop in a car- we suggest e-bikes for added fun! Check out our Locals Only Guide for specific recommendations, but a few highlights are nature trails through natural preserves, organic markets, fresh local restaurants, community parks with everything from playgrounds to sand volleyball, basketball, or soccer fields. You will also be able to walk to parks with grills and community tables that are perfect for celebrations & quick, easy get togethers.

Convenience: Private address and mail box provide secure mail and package delivery.

Safety: Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is less than a mile away, so you can rest easy while adventuring.

ROOM DETAILS:
Room 1: This first room is set up initially as an office/workspace, but has the optionality to pull out a queen size bed from the couch! The desk has a lamp, and all the plugs you might need to keep you charged up and working from paradise. Large sliding glass doors bring in natural light, and privacy blinds close out the light when desired! There is a closet to keep clothes or other items you might want to store. A fan/light helps you keep the room at the exact temperature you desire!

Room 2: This room has a king size bed with a standard closet for your clothes or other needs! It has two bed side tables, as well as a sliding glass door that provide ample natural light, or you can pull down the privacy shades when desired! This room has direct access to one of the bathrooms with a shower/tub, toilet and sink!

Room 3: This room is nestled in beautiful greenery and foliage with a queen bed, 2 bed side tables, a walk-in closet and direct access to the bathroom, this room has it all! The bathroom has a shower/tub, toilet, sink and washer/dryer for convenient cleaning of clothes/bedding/other needs!

Guest Access:
Private parking space, entry, yard, and entire home. Please note this home is located behind another rental home.

The Neighborhood:
The largest community park in Encinitas is right next to our house, a 5 minute walk brings you to the parks entry gates. At the bottom of our hill is the Cardiff Glenn nature preserve which is a beautifully bio diverse preserve with a nature trail surrounded by bright, gorgeous flowery, plants and trees. It is truly calming and relaxing to just walk the neighborhood.

If you’re up for a slight scavenger hunt, right off of Sheffield Dr. Is Cynthia’s homemade goods. Cynthia makes sauces, ointments and other goodies from her garden and sells them on a trusted digital pay system. Her horseradish hot sauce is amazing!

Depending on the season, neighbors will have bins of oranges, lemons, limes, dragon fruit, nuts and other fruits and vegetables to take for free!

Getting Around:
Parking on Warwick is really simple and there is always availability. We love our house because you can walk to everything you need! Renting e-bikes is very popular in Encinitas and Charlie’s e-bikes make it really easy. If you want to rent one while you are here, you can get everywhere you would need from Del Mar to Carlsbad!
