We’re currently putting the finishing touches on the backyard to make it even more incredible for your future stays! Think cozy hangout spaces, fun outdoor vibes, and even more room to relax and enjoy. While it's not quite ready yet, it will be soon, and we can’t wait for you to experience it!


Private Dock & Direct Lake Access – Step outside to your private dock, perfect for fishing, swimming, or launching your boat, kayak, or jet ski. Spend your days soaking up the Florida sunshine and enjoying the sparkling waters of Lake Placid. We even provide a kayak!

Outdoor Grill & Dining – Fire up the grill and enjoy lakeside meals in the enclosed patio dining area. Whether it’s a family BBQ or a quiet dinner at sunset, this space is made for unforgettable gatherings.

Spacious Yard & Lounging Areas – The expansive yard provides plenty of room for games, relaxation, and taking in the stunning waterfront views. Blind Mosquitos (Aquatic Midges)
If you are staying with us any time between April-November you may experience our friends, the very annoying- however harmless-blind mosquitoes. Don't let the name fool you, they don't bite.

I wish I could tell you when they will be here, how long they will stay and when they will be gone. However, that is not possible. During the warmer months you will experience them every so often- they only live a day or so.

It is also not possible to treat them. Extensive research has been carried out on the use of insecticides against aquatic midges. Because the larvae live on the lake or river bottom, they are extremely difficult and costly to kill. The entire volume of water must be treated to provide effective control. Lake Placid is BIG. If you do happen to be here while they are around, please
know they are harmless, they like to sit on the grass, very little on the beach/dock, and are attracted to light (turn the back lights off).

For guest safety and security, security cameras have been installed in exterior entryways.

This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $37 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.

It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.
