Beautiful Ocean View Cabin and Hot Tub!!

Relax on our lawn chairs and breathe fresh air as sea lions bark and waves crash on the rocks below. Whale watch from the picnic table or soak in the hot tub while taking in the amazing view. How about a glass of wine while the sunset paints the sky in vibrant colors? We also have lawn games to play while you enjoy your own private retreat and breathtaking views!

Come and stay at our family's treasured property that we call Driftwood. Our cabin has incredible ocean views, a large hot tub, and a cozy feel. We just rebuilt the entire place from the ground up. We milled Sitka Spruce from the property for the interior tongue and groove ceilings, porch soffit, beams, and front porch framing. The decks are made of redwood that we milled on site from our own trees.

Inside you'll find new everything, but you may recognize a few items if you stayed at the old cabin. We have a custom redwood bar with a live edge angled and sanded smooth specifically so you can rest your forearm while you sip a beer or a glass of wine and stare out to the Pacific. Brand new appliances, quality cookware, sharp knives and a world class view will be loved by the chef in your group. A dry bar, wine rack and minifridge await your extra drinks and your cocktail creations. Downstairs are two cozy bedrooms with two new queen beds fitted with the coziest linen sheets. A bathroom with a lighted and heated mirror, heated floor, double vanity, and large tiled shower lies between the two bedrooms.

Gaze out the huge living room windows as you walk upstairs to the master bedroom where you'll find a beautiful queen bed with soft linen sheets. Look west out the windows and gaze upon the blue Pacific while you enjoy quiet and privacy. A beautifully tiled bathroom with a double vanity, heated floor, lighted and heated mirror, and big shower make for a wonderful place for grooming.

Comments on the listing posted prior to 2023 are from the old cabin which was destroyed by a tree in January 2023. The area behind the house is being seeded with grass so it is somewhat bare for the moment from construction and tree removal.

The ocean view deck overlooking the large yard has a BBQ (propane provided) and outdoor seating for you to enjoy. You can have a private picnic overlooking the ocean, listening to the sea lions right in our yard! There is also a fire pit for roasting marshmallows in the evening. Out of respect and kindness to the neighbors, we are unable to allow large gatherings or parties.

Our guests have access to the entire property. However due to the steep cliffs, there is no beach access.

Our property is located in a private forest setting only a half mile from Sue-Meg State Park, and close to Redwood National Park. The beautiful beach town of Trinidad offers shopping, dining, beaches, hiking trails, and ample fishing opportunities.

You can walk to Sue-Meg State park, or drive to other nearby attractions. Redwood National and State Parks are just a 20 minute drive to the north where you can see the largest trees in the world, and herds of Roosevelt elk. The beautiful and quaint coastal town of Trinidad is 5 minutes to the south, with Arcata being about 20 minutes south from our place.

-. Please do not use drones at our cabin. We have sensitive sea bird and sea lion rookeries directly in front of our cabin and they can be disturbed by drones.

Guest Contract. By booking our rental, guests agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Agreement. Owner of this home and Guest otherwise agree as follows: Guest is an adult of at least (25) years of age and will be an occupant of the Premises during the entire Term. Other occupants of the Premises will be family members, friends, responsible adults or children under direct adult supervision. People other than those in the Guest’s party set forth above may not stay overnight at the Premises without Owner’s approval. Guest agrees to keep the Premises and all adjacent common areas clean and safe. NO PARTIES OF ANY KIND are permitted on the Premises. Use of the Premises in violation of the above requirements will result in immediate termination of this Agreement without refund of any Rent by Owner, also subject to a $250 fine. Guest agrees that the Premises shall not be used for any illegal or unlawful purpose. Complaints from neighbors regarding excessive noise or other nuisances shall be cause for immediate termination of this Agreement without refund of any Rent by Owner.

2. Payment. Rent payment is preferred via credit card, plus Security Deposit. Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.

3. Pets. Pets are generally not allowed at the Premises; however some rentals are pet friendly. A $25 non-refundable pet fee will apply. Guest is required to clean up after their pets including pet hair and disposing of pet waste appropriately. If pet waste, stains or excessive hair is noted upon check-out inspection, Guest agrees to pay an additional $50- $200 pet clean-up fee. Do not let your pet on furniture or beds. Do not let your pet roam the neighborhood. If pet damage is evident such as, but not limited to, scratched floors, damaged furniture, etc., you must inform Owner prior to Check-Out Inspection. If informed Owner shall act in accordance of section 16 of this Agreement. Absolutely no cats, birds, or exotic animals are allowed. Please do not leave pet unattended in the home or yard area. Please do not allow pet to excessively bark or disturb neighbors.

4. Check-in. Check-in time is 4:00pm on your day of arrival. Lock box codes WILL NOT be issued with any Rent balance due or without acknowledgement of this rental agreement. Guest’s lock box code will be given to Guest verbally or by private message one to two days prior to your check-in date.

5. Check -out. Check-out time is 11:00am on Guest’s day of departure. Please leave keys in lock box. Owner often has guests leaving and arriving the same day, making late check out challenging or not possible. A $35.00 fee will be charged for each lost key. The Premises has a check-out procedure posted inside. Please read, and follow the check-out directions prior to departure.

6. Cleaning. The Premises will be inspected, cleaned and sanitized after your departure. Guest is required to leave the Premises in the same general condition as Guest received it by making sure dishes are washed, the used towels are put in the washing machine and the Premises are generally picked up and ready to be vacuumed, dusted and sanitized. If the Premises are left in an inadequate condition, and excessive cleaning is required, Guest agrees to pay a fee proportional to the extra time required to clean, at $40 per hour. REMEMBER: NO SMOKING on the Premises. Evidence of smoking on Premises will result in the Guest’s credit card being charged an additional $200 fee.

8. What we supply. The Premises are, unless otherwise noted on our website, equipped and set up as a fully furnished home which includes: bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, paper products, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, Wi-fi and furnishings.

9. Entry by owner. Owner or TBVR may enter the Premises under the following circumstances: in case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed upon repairs, alterations or improvements; supply necessary or agreed upon services.Ascertain the validity of Neighbor Complaint.

10. Weather/Hold Harmless. Owner does not assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Owner does not accept liability for any inconveniences arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, electricity or plumbing. Owner does not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by weather/road conditions/closures, natural disasters, acts of God or other reasons beyond its control. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER.

11. Hot tub. Guest should shower, be clean, and ensure feet are free of debris or leaf litter prior to hot tub entry. Guest herby acknowledges that if the Premises include a hot tub, Guest is fully aware that the hot tub and surrounding deck/patio area can be dangerous. Hot tubs can CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY/AND OR DEATH. The deck/patio can be slippery when wet and that injury is likely to occur to anyone who is not careful. Guest should adhere to all rules and policies as posted at the Premises. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, Guest accepts and assumes all risks involved in or related to the use of the hot tub and deck/patio areas. All Guests Enter Hot Tub at your own risk. Hot tub rules are posted at Hot Tub. Hot tubs are closed after 10pm to observe quiet hours.

12. Maintenance. Owner will diligently attempt to address maintenance issues as they occur. If a maintenance issue occurs that cannot be fixed in a reasonable amount of time, and significantly affects the Guest’s stay, Owner may issue a discount or refund at its discretion or relocate Guest to another property. Guest is required to report any maintenance needs for the Premises to Owner as quickly as possible.
