Lovely and characterful charming old-style townhouse in historic old town of Antibes, it is a 5 min. stroll from the provencal market where fresh local produce and crafts can be purchased. The Picasso Museum and the Cathedral are also very close. Within a few minutes stroll there are many restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The local sandy beaches are an easy walk from the house. Everything you need is within a walk of the house. Watersports are available at the beach - boats can be hired at the marina. You can also join the locals for an evening game of petanque/boules with the provided set. Lovely setting for family or romantic break.
The house is set over 5 floors and has a spiral staircase linking each floor. There are two en-suite bedrooms (1 double bed with bathroom and handheld shower, 1 twin bedroom with 2 twin beds and ensuite shower room) on the first and then second floor each with aircon; a light living-room, with aircon, TV, wi-fi, dining area and a well-equipped kitchen on the 3rd floor. There is a small roof terrace with a sea view to one side and a terracota roof panorama view to the other, which is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or meal. Juan Les Pins, Cannes, Nice, Monaco and the villages of Biot, Eze and St Paul De Vence are all easily reached for day trips. Please see the video for a virtual tour of the house.
The house is set up as follows: utility area on the ground floor with washing machine, dryer and drying racks; plenty of room for storing hire scooters or hire bicycles. 1st floor 2 twins in this bedroom with aircon and an en-suite bathroom with shower cubicle; 2nd floor double master bedroom, superking bed with aircon and en-suite bathroom with handheld shower and a balcony; 3rd floor living/dining room and kitchen; there are 2 comfortable sofas, coffee table, dining room table and chairs for 4, TV/DVD, Wi-Fi; kitchen is fully equiped with oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher and all the utensils you might need!; then lastly a set of open-style stairs to the roof terrace. All staircases are shown in the photos.
The stairs up to the terrace are an 'open-style'with a 3-part handrail which may not be suitable for an older person or toddlers. Please just ask for more info and please see photos.
Road access to rue de la Tourraque can be restricted at certain times of the day during the summer. See local signs for more information. The road can be pedestrian only in the height of summer to encourage a more relaxed town feel. (NB Please note that currently Antibes' pedestrian roads come into effect at 15.30 on Fri/Sat/Sun and holidays, and bollards come up, so your taxi might need to drop you off/collect you at the top of the road, a 2-3 min walk, which is very straightforward and downhill!)
Arriving at the house: Check-in/check-out service is organised via my local cleaning lady, who also speaks English. You will be met at the house and she will show you into and around the property. This service for arrivals between 4.00pm-8.00pm and then check out by 10.00am. Check-in/check-out timings will be confirmed and contact details will be provided once a booking is made. Outside of these timings, we will make other arrangements with you, which may incur an out-of-hours fee, or use of key safe.
Check-in is between 4.00pm - 8.00pm - (earlier check-in may be possible by request).
Check-out is by 10.00am latest- (late check-out may be possible by request).
Check in/out plus cleaning/linens fee is currently €150 which is paid by guests for their stay at time of booking.
